Before leaving, her mother warns her to stay on the path and avoid talking to strangers. On her journey, Red encounters a sly wolf who tricks her into revealing her destination. While Red is distracted picking flowers, the wolf races ahead to her grandmother’s cottage. There, he devours the elderly woman and disguises himself in her clothing to deceive Red. When Red arrives, she notices something unusual about "Grandmother." Her innocent curiosity leads to the iconic exchange, "What big eyes you have!" and "What big teeth you have!" Just as the wolf prepares to pounce, a nearby woodsman hears Red's cries for help and bursts into the cottage. He drives the wolf away (or kills him, in some versions), saving Red and sometimes rescuing her grandmother from the wolf’s belly.

GRIMMSTEAD PRESENTS BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Beauty and the Beast begins with a once-proud prince cursed by a powerful enchantress for his vanity and cruelty. Transformed into a fearsome Beast, he is condemned to remain so until he earns the love of another despite his monstrous form. Years later, Belle, a kind and intelligent young woman, becomes the Beast’s prisoner after offering herself in exchange for her father, who accidentally trespassed in the Beast’s castle. Although Belle initially fears the Beast, she is treated with kindness by the enchanted servants—living objects like a talking candlestick, a teapot, and a clock, who long for the curse to be broken. Over time, Belle's courage and warmth soften the Beast's temper, and she glimpses the lonely soul behind his gruff exterior. Their growing friendship blossoms into a deep connection, but Belle must return home to tend to her ailing father. The Beast lets her go, even though it risks the curse becoming permanent. When Belle learns that a mob is marching to kill the Beast, she races back to save him, realizing her love for him. Belle’s heartfelt declaration breaks the spell, restoring the Beast to his human form and reviving his castle to its former splendor. In the end, Belle and the prince find happiness together, proving that love and kindness can transcend even the deepest scars.
