After a long wait, I can officially announce that I will be attending 문일여자고등학교 next year along with Katie and Ally! This is an all girls high school in Incheon, South Korea. While I still do not know who my host family is, I know for a fact that I will be living in Incheon South Korea which is still very exciting! At first I was a little bummed that I wasn’t placed in Seoul, because three days a week I have to take an hour long subway ride just to get to Hongdae for Korean class. Many of my favorite places in Korea are in Seoul because of traveling and staying in that city last summer, but I’m starting to get excited about living in a totally new place, because I can explore and learn more about the country. While living far away from Seoul may seem like a negative aspect at first, I have come to realize that it will be an amazing experience because of all the new places I will discover, and all the amazing people I will meet! With only 45 days until I fly to NYC for pre-departure orientation, I am trying my hardest to study Korean diligently and continue learning my goal of 800 new words! 오늘 내가 어떤 고등학교를 다니게 될지 알게되었다. 문일여자고등학교를 다니게 되었다. 앞으로의 9개월동안 이 학교에 다니게 되서 너무 기쁘다. 친구도 많이 사귀고 반 친구들도 빨리 만나고 싶다. 한국에 가기까지 2달밖에 안남았다. 엄청 기대되!

Got my Oral Proficiency Interview information for NSLIY! A Korean native speaker will call me on the phone and have a conversation in Korean with me to assess my language ability. Kinda terrified but excited to get this part over with. 79 days until my last day in America #nsliy #OPI #79days (at "다시 한번 말해 주세요?" ㅋㅋㅋ)

Recently I was informed that I am about to experience the incredible opportunity to go to South Korea and Japan this summer. I will be staying for about a month in these two countries and I hope to learn much more about the Korean culture and language than I already do. I bought my plane ticket a week ago and I can't imagine how much this will continue my love for Korean and also for foreign relations!
