Each weekend until June 12, the artist Duke Riley will tie little L.E.D. lights to two thousand homing pigeons and release them at sunset from a Vietnam-era aircraft carrier, docked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Read more about “Fly by Night” on newyorker.com.

I just started diving into the world of podcasting! I’m cohosting CDMi’s official podcast on digital trends with my Emerging Digital Group partner, Scott Wanderman. Give it a listen.
If you like it (or just want to see the growth of my new career direction), subscribe and give us a good rating in iTunes. :)
The Patient Perspective on SXSW
For our launch episode, we discussed the latest digital trends from the 2016 SXSW Interactive Conference — an annual event focused on emerging technologies. We talked with our CDMi friends, John Deely and Jennifer Ohlberg, who attended the conference and heard their perspective on how virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and big data are impacting patients and the healthcare landscape. John Deely is a Senior Vice President, Director of Digital Experience at CDMiConnect. Jen Ohlberg is a Vice President, Account Director. Both John and Jen are part of our Emerging Digital Group (EDG). To find more of our SXSW coverage, check out cdmiconnect.com/sxsw Let us know what you think about this episode and if there are any other patient perspective topics you want to hear about. Does early to bed, early to rise really make you a better person? Maria Konnikova on Sunita Sah’s studies:
Early birds aren’t ethically superior. And, to the extent that other research suggests that they are, it may just be that they are luckier: modern society, for the most part, is built around their preferences. We are expected to function well early in the morning. We can’t just wake up when our bodies tell us to and work when we feel at our peak.

Judging from the size of an average human brain, Robin Dunbar concluded that we can have about 150 “casual friends.” How relevant will this number remain as social media becomes the new normal? Maria Konnikova investigates.
