friendly reminders:
you don't have to be productive every day
you are worthy even if all you did today was get out of bed
there are people out there who care about you
your existence makes a difference
if something bothers you, then it bothers you. no one has the right to tell you otherwise
you are allowed to take up space
there is no 'right way' to grieve
you cannot put a time limit on emotions
your likes and interests are valid and they matter
it's okay to take your time in doing things. not everyone can do everything at the same pace

Taña from the Strafford Branch recommends "I Must Betray You" by Ruta Sepetys."Ruta Sepetys is one of my favorite authors. She is a master at bringing historical fiction for YA readers to light, usually about a forgotten or skimmed over historical event. This beautiful novel tells about Cristian from Romania in 1989 when they were struggling with a Communist regime, unable to trust anybody, even family members. The book is well written, thoroughly researched, and brilliantly portrays the fear Romanians lived with for years under the dictator. So grab a tissue and prepare to immerse yourself in a historical tragedy across the sea, after the Soviet Union fell and Romanians had to either betray their loved ones or finally find a way to fight back."
