Greenberg Appreciation Week
Relationships
@greenbergappreciation
Zac was enjoying his shift at Sinema when a devastatingly familiar face sits down at the bar. He'd grown up a lot since the last time he'd seen Danny, but just seeing him again brought back the painfully awkward crush he'd had on him in high school.
The other bartender was busy at the other end of the bar so Zac steeled himself up and asked Danny what he'd like to drink.
"Something with tequila. Surprise m- Greenberg? Zac Greenberg?" Danny's eyes widened in surprise.
Zac resisted the urge to fidget as Danny's gaze travels appreciatively down his torso. "It's good to see you, Danny. One tequila surprise, coming right up."
Zac kept his hands busy making a drink he'd been experimenting with for a while. He thought he had it down and hoped Danny would approve. "So, what brings you back to Beacon Hills? I thought you escaped for good."
Danny laughed. "Me, too. But my mon is getting remarried and I'm here for a week while it all goes down. So, what's up with this place, huh? I was bummed when I found out the Jungle wasn't around anymore."
"I mean, it's not exclusively gay," Zac told him, "but it's still pretty damn gay." He slid the drink to Danny.
Danny took a sip and groaned in a way that made Zac step closer to the bar to hide his immediate reaction. "Holy shit, this is amazing. What is it called?"
"It doesn't have a name yet. You're the first person besides me to try it." Zac blushed at the positive reaction, thankful for the neon lights around the bar for disguising the flush.
"Well, you should never name it and just only make it for me." Danny took another sip, humming happily before resuming the interrupted conversation. "Anybody I might recognize out there?"
"Nah, most of our class is off at college this time of year. The older patrons leave pretty early and the kids stay as long as possible. The younger members in Scott's-" Zac cut himself off before he could freak Danny out with the knowledge of what Scott is.
"Scott's pack?" Danny asked.
"You know?"
"I knew before I left. Broke up with Ethan because I couldn't date a werewolf. Wait. Did you get bitten?" Danny squinted at Zac.
"Nah. Puberty just finally caught up to me." Zac laughed. "But the whole town basically knows now after this crazy lady and Allison's grandpa started a war against them about a year ago. And something about a fear monster? I don't know. Anyway, now everyone knows that the wolves of Beacon Hills are here to protect us. The younger pack members come here a lot."
"No shit? Sounds like I left just in time."
"Truth."
"So, why are you still here, then?"
"There's no place like home." Zac shrugged.
"To each his own, yeah?" Danny polished off his drink.
Zac agreed, then asked, "Wanna try something else I've been working on?"
"Hell yes."
They spent the night catching up. Talking every free second Zac had. When Zac's shift ended, he plucked up the courage to ask Danny to go with him and silently marveled when Danny said yes.
At the end of the week when Danny was supposed to leave, he told Zac he'd decided to stay.
"Really?" Zac asked. "Why?"
Danny stepped forward and Zac immediately opened his arms to pull him in closer and Danny said, "There's no place like home."

Thank you!
Thank you to everyone that participated in Greenberg Appreciation Week! While the event period is over we’ll still be reblogging any Greenberg posts we find. Feel free to tag us in any of your posts so we can find them. Using the #greenberg appreciation week tag helps, but we’ve noticed that sometimes picture posts don’t always show up in the tags. So @’ing us is the safest bet. We had a good week of Greenberg content. Hopefully we’ll see you all again next year.

Greenberg Appreciation Week
Day 7: Dealer’s Choice
“I don’t think you quite understand the significance of your presence here, Zac.” Lydia Martin, Stiles’ best friend says.
Zac had been so happy when the dreamy bookstore owner he’d been flirting with had finally asked him out for a drink. The first time he’d delivered a courier package to Stiles, he’d practically fallen head over heels for those somber brown eyes. The second time, he’d asked the man out himself, only to be immediately shut down. Zac could tell it wasn’t about him, so he’d taken the rejection amicably and they’d become friends.
Now, after over a year, he was sitting at a table outside of Stiles’ favorite little dive bar being interrogated by his closest friends while the other man was getting them refills.
“I guess not,” he replies to Lydia. “Would you care to enlighten me?”
“It’s not my place to give you all the details. But I’ll tell you this: Stiles’s ex was a grade A prick. Cheated on him for months and then left him for the ho. He closed himself off from everyone and everything else for a long time. We finally got him to come here with us and it’s kind of been his safe haven ever since. He has zero memories of Ricky here, good or bad.”
“So,” Stiles’ ‘brother-from-another-mother’, Scott, continues to explain, “he must really, really like you to bring you here. He’s dated a few times since the split, but he didn’t dare bring anyone here. So if you fuck this up, we’ll bury your body where no one will ever find it.”
Lydia smiles serenely at her friend’s threat.
“Wow.” Zac looks through the window to see Stiles with his head thrown back, laughing at something the bartender said while making their drinks. His heart turns over in his chest. He knows he’d crawl naked over glass shards to see that grin every day. “Hell, I’d let you. He’s amazing. And if the idiot before me was too fucking stupid to see that, then that’s his loss. I’m more than happy to hold onto a treasure someone else is dumb enough to throw away.”
“Well, then,” Lydia grins. “I guess we’ll keep you.”
Stiles pushes open the door with a bright grin and a drink-loaded tray. The setting sun turns his eyes to topaz and gold. A treasure indeed.
