Lambpaw, like every other healer apprentice before him, traveled to the Moonshell to be granted StarClan's approval. When he stared at his reflection in the massive, iridescent shell, he couldn't help but feel anxiety gnawing at him. His mentor, Salmonfleck, gently urged him on. Lambpaw touched his nose to the salty water within the shell.
He awoke in a place that nothing could have prepared him for. Gone were the lush forests and starry skies that Salmonfleck had told him of. Everything was dull and lifeless. The air was so still he could hear the blood in his veins. Fog shrouded the forest like a blanket. A single star hung in the grey sky, giving off cold light. Worst of all... there were no StarClan cats to be seen--
--until the fog began taking shape.

Ok maybe they aren’t super-mega-chonkin’, but there are plenty examples of feral cats that have pudge to be found if you follow any animal rescue groups. And I’m talking cats who would never touch human-provided food unless they hadn’t been captured due to illness. It depends on the season, size/frame of the cat, age, potential breeding, etc., but as with any organism sometimes they’re just fat.
The strongest cat I’ve ever had in my backyard colony growing up was a tom named Sparta, and all things considered he looked like a chubster. His fur was incredibly dense but short, which made him look more round, but underneath the skin and fat he was very muscular. He won every fight I saw him in, and he would consistently come back from wandering around with a new scratch from beating the shit out of foreign cats.
But my parents, who didn’t pay attention at all to the cats, looked at him like, “This guy?? Seriously? He has a double chin when he looks down!” But yeah. He was fat. He was also more feral than the others and an incredible fighter who regularly patrolled his area.
But I mean fr. Look at bears. Those dudes are fuckin fat. Doesn’t make them any less athletic and dangerous. Same principle applies to squirrels and raccoons. Dudes are fat. And also scary asf if bothered.
Feral cats can be fat.
im sorry, but no warrior cat is fat. they are wild cats godammit. they exercise. they're skinny. shut up
we are in fat folk fall

I’m reading Legends of the Clans and I just need to say it.
Pinestar did nothing wrong. If Firestar was allowed to choose his own way of life, then Pinestar shouldn’t be villainised and hated by the Clans for doing the exact same thing.
I personally loved Pinestar’s Choice and I think it did a great job of vindicating the poor guy. He was clearly a kind and sensitive cat who did not ask for the brutal life of a Clan cat and found his own way to bring meaning to his life. He did NOTHING wrong.
I think this is one of the stronger novellas because it really showed a lot of love and respect for the kittypet characters. I’ve always been slightly uncomfortable with the intolerance the Clans show literally every lifestyle except for their own, and I’m really enjoying how some of these novellas and super editions are challenging that.
#pinestar appreciation#it’s infuriating to me that brambleclaw’s story was originally supposed to end with him leaving the clans#bc holy shit what if he realized he was becoming just as power hungry as his father?#and decided to take accountability for his own mistakes?#what if he became a kittypet like his grandfather?#it would have been nice to see that because it would show#there are more ways to live#and pinestar just made the right decision for himself#plus bramble could have done with some therapy from the twolegs tbh#seriously tho i’ll die on this hill#reblog#warrior cats#warriors#free my man pinestar

People really out here going anon for the mildest takes in history. 'Brambleclaw should've been squilf's big bro' 'I don't think Crowfeather should be leader' come on people let's get some spicy takes up in here like that one 'I don't think the Erins are misogynistic' anon.
I'll start: I don't think Bramblestar was bad enough as a leader, mate, and father. His father was a fascist genocidal maniac, and his 'father figure' could only ever look at him in disgust. His sister abandoned him, and his whole Clan mistrusted him for a long while after that. Everyone was constantly trying to use him for their agenda, including Starclan themselves, and just when he finally thought his life was turning around his kits were revealed to have never been his and his mate lied to him for seasons.
Frankly, the Erins should have made him rule the Clan with an iron paw. He should treat everyone with suspicion, especially those closest to him. He should be toxic as hell and constantly on the brink of war with other Clans over petty border squabbles. But I guess that would make Thunderclan not the shining paragon of virtue that they are and we can't have that.

Might steal this…
i think the tunnels beneath windclan should be the clans' silent hill. a place untethered from space and time with no objective default state of existence because it's constantly at the whims of its inhabitant's mindscape. they exist in the same place as the lake (known cat eating psychological dionaea primordial entity) so it checks it

WindClan's Forest Camp
Extremely hard to visualize and populate, but settled with who would be in the camp in Forest of Secrets. Onewhisker is playing with Gorsekit, Tallstar and Deadfoot are in charge, and I snuck in a baby Nightcloud!

GraupelClan Master Post
Heyy! This is my first post detailing my work on essential elements of my original Warriors fan clan. As with any project, some of these details may change. My in-universe excuse for this is that the cats of GraupelClan have lost almost all memory of the laws and spiritual traditions of their past \_(:/)_/
This post is a basic introduction to the clan and their predicament, StarClan, the Dark Forest, and my concept of “Haunted” cats.
About GraupelClan
+*.~ Who is GraupelClan? ~.*+
GraupelClan is a single clan consisting of the surviving members of four original clans, as well as strays and kittypets impacted by a devastating storm that destroyed much of their forest and local twoleg neighborhoods.
All of the members of GraupelClan are fortunate survivors of the Flood and acknowledge themselves as much. But no one was left without some sort of spiritual imprint from the event. These imprints differ in severity from cat to cat, but the uniting factor among the clan is that most forgot years of their lives and had aspects of their personalities change dramatically. Some cats who were closer to the action also report having memories of the Flood from different and even impossible angles, indicating that they may be Haunted to some extent.
Their story takes place several moons after the Flood as they grapple with the physical and emotional challenges that have brought them together under one moniker. The physical setting is a mostly coniferous forest, although I have yet to pin down a region in particular to draw inspiration from.
+*.~ About the Name ~.*+
Although the spiritual memory of the original clans was lost to the cats during the Flood, it is thought that they had precipitation-related names. GraupelClan’s name was chosen after much discussion within the clan as a way to honor this piece of lost tradition.
Out of universe, I chose the name as a play on the fact that they are “graupel”-ing with their situation. Get it? Cause it rhymes? ‘:)
+*.~ StarClan ~.*+
GraupelClan’s version of StarClan is the collective consciousness of deceased forest cats, strays, and kittypets, whose souls collided and merged into a single entity during the Flood. This entity is benevolent and wants the best for their living clan mates, although their nature as a whole is anomalous and confusing. The explanation for this is that they have within them many conflicting inputs resulting from the fact that their members were so diverse in origin. That being said, this diversity of thought is a good thing overall for GraupelClan.
+*.~ The Dark Forest ~.*+
The Dark Forest is a tricky subject to tackle, and I am still working on some of the details. Instead of being a purely spiritual resting place for bad cats, in this story it’s more akin to the Forbidden Forest of Harry Potter fame. It is very much a “hell on earth” type of threat.
Essentially, malicious spirits of all kinds were brought fourth by the Flood to the world of the living, and they have since pooled in (literally) dark and destitute areas of the forest. Some have possessed surviving cats (namely those who were left stranded alone for long periods of time), leaving them unrecognizable and with no personal identity or connection to their former lives.
These cats are known as the Haunted.
+*.~ The Haunted ~.*+
The Haunted, as mentioned above, are living cats possessed by spirits stirred from their resting place in the Dark Forest.
Although most Haunted are simply confused and lost, desiring a return to normalcy and peace in the form of union with StarClan, some are incredibly destructive and malicious. Their behavior is more erratic and unpredictable, being inspired in part by the effects of real diseases like rabies and distemper as well as fictional conditions like the state of Corrupted Gems in Steven Universe. This is especially true in cases where the spirits Haunting living cats are non-feline creatures.
Although dangerous, the Haunted are not to be misunderstood as the enemies of the clan. Many of these cats were, at one point, the dear friends, siblings, and mates of current GraupelClan members, and it would against the will of StarClan for them to simply destroy the Haunted.
For some of the Haunted, even those who were most precious to us, it is too late. And if there ever was anything to be salvaged at all, many will shortly be lost as mere grains of sand across time. Yet still, it is GraupelClan’s mission to return these spirits to StarClan. It is your mission to restore control to your friends, your family, and bitter rivals - even if the change within them has made them a total stranger.
The themes and story of the clan are dark, but I plan to balance this blog with light-hearted content as well to make sure it’s not an edge-fest.

I wanna write this eventually but, I have a Bramblestar's Storm au in which the literal storm still happens, but instead of a stupid love triangle, it's about Bramblestar facing consequences for being a DF trainee in TNP.
The Clan is still divided on the OOTS trainees, and then when it's revealed that Bramblestar was an og trainee, all hell breaks loose. ThunderClan almost splits in half. And because of the physical storm going on, it almost destroys them. The pressure is immense. Some cats want Bramblestar forgiven, some don't trust him, and some hate him, because he saw firsthand what Tigerstar was like. He knew better than almost any DF trainee just how horrible Tigerstar had been. But he still trained with him.
So ThunderClan must try to reunite under the hurricane, while Bramblestar struggles to keep everyone together when so many simply don't trust him.
