Adam’s e-mail for Yang
Why am I excited about Andrew Yang, 2020 Presidential Candidate?
Here's my top 2 reasons.
First, he understands how big a deal technology is and will become in the next few years. He has a plan for the huge economic hurdles we face as millions of jobs are increasingly automated; manufacturing, retail, call centers, truckers,...radiologists(!). His plan is to use this same technology to fund a dividend that will yield $1000 a month to every American, 18 and up. This will not only prevent economic despair, but will also generate more customers for Main Street businesses that will in turn have to hire more people. For my second reason, instead of mentioning his plan to replace GDP with measurements that actually reflect the prosperity of Americans, or his plan for medicare for all, I choose his plan to combat climate change, which is the most ambitious I've heard anyone talk about. What caught my eye is that he already wants to invest in research for geo-engineering projects that can reverse global warming, because even if the US went all renewable next week, it would not be nearly enough to change the tide. He also makes a good argument why now is the time to create a global partnership in this research, since alternatively, China would likely proceed with its own geo-engineering projects, which could lead to war.... Maybe I should have just stuck with his more widely publicized plan to replace GDP.
To me, Andrew Yang sees clearly what is happening in our world, where it is heading, and the tremendous promise and peril of the technology we now harness. In his own calm, rational way, I think he is actually more of a fear-monger than anyone else in political history, but I think his warnings are spot on. And I think his solutions are visionary. I also think he could win. At this early stage, most people don't know about him, and yet he is at 3% in the polls, ahead of many much better known Democratic candidates. This means that when people hear him, they like him. And already, many former Trump supporters, who have jobs vulnerable to automation, have listened to him and said they would vote for him in the general election.
Thank you for hearing him out more in the weeks and months to come. At the very least, I hope his ideas and policies become more widely adopted among the current front-runners, by the eventual nominee, and by the next president. That being said, I'd vote for any of the Democratic candidates against Trump. I just hope they win. #yanggang

Yang Volunteer E-mail 5/10
Happy Friday! You're getting this email because you have signed up to be a volunteer with the Andrew Yang campaign; thank you! We are growing at an incredible pace and cannot tell you how much we value your time and support.
I have two announcements:
1. Our next monthly organizer livestream call will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd at 8:30pm ET / 5:30pm PT. During this time, I will discuss campaign updates and the best ways you can get involved moving forward. This call is definitely one not to miss! Register here to join.
2. Some of our Yang Gang volunteers are planning a #HumanityFirst day of service to take place over Memorial Day Weekend! This is an awesome community initiative, led by Esther Baldwin of the Baltimore Yang Gang, that will help spread Andrew's Humanity First message around the country. To get involved, email [email protected] or join her for an informational video call on Thursday May 16th, at 8:30pm. Details for joining can be found here.
Looking forward to seeing you all out on the trail some time soon!
Best,
Carly Reilly
