Hi! I just recently saw your blog and thought that you could help with my predicament. A few months back, in May I started to type a book. I was insanely proud of it. I got about 6 chapter completed. But because of summer break and now school I have't written it in like, 5-7 months. When I came back to it, I'm cringing at my own work, my writing style changed and I lost motivation completely.
The fact that you recognize that your writing was bad a few months ago means that you’ve improved a lot since then, which is a good thing. In terms of continuing your story, just pick up where you left off and accept that it’s the first draft, which you can go back and change later. If you edited the first six chapters you wrote back then, ignore that and decide in your mind that they are still the first draft, then keep going. You can always go back and fix whatever you don’t like. That’s the beauty of editing and revising.
I’ve compiled some resources for you on becoming motivated again:

!!!
!!! (pronounced x) is a hallucination along with five other hallucinations. !!! Is the more crazy and loud of the group. The best way he can be described is as the Cheshire Cat if he was yelling and laughing a bunch. He is a teddy bear, but instead of a normal head, it’s a glass dome. He can get pretty nasty when he’s angry, which is why he has real bear claws. He can also be very friendly and even have sympathy to whoever is hallucinating him.

hey since I just told a friend this and they found it helpful: if you’re having hallucinations and are having trouble distinguishing what’s real and what’s not, use your phone’s camera and take a picture of the thing you might be hallucinating. cameras don’t hallucinate.
