1 year ago today, November 16: Pogtopia goes to war with Manburg, leading to the surrender and subsequent death (by heart attack) of President Schlatt. Wilbur eventually cedes the presidency to Tubbo, but sneaks off to the button room to detonate the TNT under L'Manburg. Philza joins the server to stop him but Wilbur, with the help of Technoblade, succeeds in destroying the country he once built and asks Philza to end his life.

it’s nov 16 here alrdy so im just gonna make a little appreciation post for pogtopia era.

like the energy of the lore during this time was unparalleled. remember the moment schlatt dropped his speech and an explosion of animatics came out because of it? and then tommy and wilbur got exiled which was what we thought was going to be the most unexpected thing to happen ever. and then we were hit by technoblade joining. and then we were hit by wilbur’s let’s be the bad guys. and THEN DREAM SIDED WITH THEM. (literally they closest dream ever was to a redemption arc.)

they got the ball rolling and just Did Not stop hitting it. it was amazing. no one knew what was going to happen. fundy and tubbo were spies, niki was standing up to schlatt, sapnap and dream were on opposing sides for the first time in a while (battle of the lake), hbomb joined right as they announced the election results, eret was starting her redemption arc, god the schlatt quackity arguement.

there was just. so much lore but they were still following one main plot so it wasn’t too overwhelming. this was the fandom at (what i personally thought) its best. “blow it up” trended on twitter and there wasnt as much fuckin character discourse on my dash.

tubbo became president and it was so fucking Awesome. you forget how happy everyone was because of the new arcs but we were so excited. i mean Tubbo? of course we know how capable he is but think of the reputation he used to have during this time. and now he’s President of L’manburg.

and. well we all know what happens next...
