Your Essential Knowledge about Vietnam weather.
In 2010, that long awaited trip to Vietnam finally came. The traveler in me was excited and the history teacher in me was intrigued and still a little wary. The nerves were unnecessary – the welcome was exceptional. Vietnam held far more than scrumptious pho and exquisite tailor-made clothing. There were stories to be shared, history (through very different lenses) to be witnessed, architecture to be admired, and culture imbued in every alleyway, paddy and city. We rode, journeyed, swam, ate, did Tai Chi, checked out motorbikes, and more; our senses were heightened and palates satiated.
Tumblr media
My trip was in April, but the climate of the region rarely includes cold, snow, or ice. Hot and humid are the norm, and be prepared for lots of rain during the monsoon. Set in the southeast region of Asia, bordering the South China Sea, Vietnam is a country of blended worlds: old and new, traditions of yesteryear mixed with tech of today, natural sights, endless diversity and people of all sorts living their lives. There’s the beauty of the colorful scenery from rice paddies to jagged rocks, the rugged rural to city speed, national parks, cultural delights, and endless flavors. Be sure you eat and enjoy the scintillating aroma of noodles galore that wafts past your nose as you wander the streets taking in everything that is life in Vietnam.
Choosing Hanoi One Day Tour for the best journey ever.
Places to Visit.
Tumblr media
There are city adventures, both large and small, UNESCO heritage site excursions that find you afloat on a traditional junk, trails that wind their way to the very top of cultural centers, historical sights, and cultural gems hidden amongst the paddies, the countryside and the busy city streets. Whether culture seeker or happy hiker, foodie or history buff, cycler, wanderer, or first time traveler – Vietnam has something for everyone.
A few spots to be sure to stop along your journey in Vietnam:
   Halong Bay
   Mekong Delta
   Nha Trang
   Sapa
   Hoi An
   Cu Chi Tunnels
   Hanoi
   Hue
 Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon
Hot, Humid, Steamy & Sticky.
Tumblr media
Vietnam is hot and humid, steamy and sticky, and definitely during monsoon season, deluged with rain. Expect the weather to be changeable in shoulder seasons. Rain gear is a must, along with hat, umbrella and maybe even that trusted a Hanoi Day Tour to dry you off when the skies douse you mid day. As always, layers are always a good idea. The country’s various regions get diverse weather patterns.
Northern Vietnam: November – April winter (January-March hovering in the 20 Celsius/70 Fahrenheit degree mark), summer is May through October with the wettest months smack in the center of July-September
Central Vietnam: January-July hot and dry (temperatures hovering above 30 Celsius/90 Fahrenheit degree mark), wettest months are October/November (watch for typhoons
South Vietnam: largely focused on the wet (early May – November; July/August wettest) and the dry (November – late April) seasons with average year-round temperatures around 30 Celsius/90 Fahrenheit degrees.
When visting Hanoi, even whole Vietnam, I hope my sharing will help you a lot to have a memorable trip!

What to do in Hanoi?
Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is the second biggest city in the country. It is an interesting mix of the East and the West with noticeable traces of the communist influence as well as the French invasion. It is a favored destination for tourists.
You can see the influence of each invading country on Hanoi today as well as the impact of the Communist influence. If you’re looking for ideas on what to see and do while in this bustling city, here are a few of my top suggestions on the best things to do in Hanoi.
Visit the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and known as the citadel of Hanoi. The building was the center of ancient Hanoi. The ancient site was the political center for 13 centuries and served as the capital of Vietnam for 8 centuries. The central flag tower of the citadel stands 40 meters tall. It is a symbol of Hanoi. It is located in Ba Dinh and is open seven days a week from 8 am to 7:30 pm.
Attend a Cooking Class.
Tumblr media
Vietnamese food is amazing but trust me, learning how to cook it is even better. Joining a cooking class in Hanoi is something I definitely recommend doing and is one of our best. Most classes also incorporate market tours, allowing you a glimpse into the local life and culture.
If you’re interested to do this, you can check a Hanoi Cooking Class, that has cooking classes which you can easily book online. Personally, whenever I miss Vietnam, I find myself trying to recreate those mouthwatering spring rolls and a bowl of Pho!
Go on a Free Walking Tour.
One of my favorite things to do in a city is to go on a walking tour as it allows me to see the area and understand its overall layout. If you’re looking for an introduction to Hanoi, I recommend you go on a free walking tour which is usually led by a local.
Tumblr media
Food Trip Around Hanoi.
Tumblr media
Hands down, one of the best things to do in Hanoi is to eat! Filled to the brim with street food stalls and night markets, Hanoi is a foodie’s dream destination. While the many types of dishes can be daunting initially, our advice is to just try as much as you can.
If you’re not that adventurous, you can also go on a Hanoi Food Tour or Hanoi Street Food Tour as it is one of the best places to do so!

To help the good-hearted people, the Jade Emperor sent the Mother Dragon and her children descending on earth to support them defend the country. The Mother Dragon and her children incinerated the enemies with their divine fire and huge emeralds. These emeralds were scattered around the battlefield on the sea and formed an unbeatable defensive wall that made the enemy battleship sink. Thanks to the great help from the dragons, ancient Vietnamese defeated the northern enemies and brought back the peace to the country.

Thousands of years later, the wall of emeralds turned into island and islets varying in different sizes and shapes.
