As a bisexual, there is a lot about a lesbian’s life that I don’t understand and can’t relate to. I won’t ever understand what it’s like to not see a man as an option, even a hypotethical one, because you will never, under any circumstances, feel attraction to him. I can. I might. Even if I don’t want a man, or anything to do with a man, I am capable of that attraction and it will change the way I feel about the pressure to be with a man entirely.

Even if it’s not something I want, it’s not an impossibility for me like it is for a lesbian.

But at the same time, nobody else will understand lesbians like bisexual women will. There is no other category of women who love women but us two, and it is a lot to share in a world that condemns such love. No man will understand how you feel, gay or straight, or what it means to love a woman as a woman. We share this together as the only people on this earth who understand, who know the experience.

That is a bond that should be celebrated. Even though we are different, we share in on the same wonder. The difficulties we face when we love other women are similar, even when they are not the same. No one else will understand this, or the miracle that is love between two women. It’s just between us. It’s just for us.
