HI HI HELLO!!! Hope you are all well and surviving another lockdown...at least we've had a bit better weather this time! Long post alert!! I disappeared AGAIN but this time I do infact have good reason rather than my poor management of social media. For the last 9ish months instead of creating glass I have been creating a new human! Unfortunately I am the worst person at being pregnant I would go so far to say that when pregnant I am a walking advert for contraception 😂😂. All combined with a high maintenance 3 year old meant that I had to stop working a good while ago. She was born 1st March and then we were plunged (AGAIN) into a lockdown and I have just about caught my breath 6 weeks later!! So I thought I would pop a little post up saying hello and that I am on maternity leave BUT I still have lovely stock in the Manx Museum (fingers crossed the lockdown will lift soon) and @manxnationalheritage also have some pieces of my work on their online store (https://manxnationalheritage.im/shop/product-category/island-inspired-artisans-artists-makers/glonney-designs/) I am here and I will be back but for now I am going to take time with my babies before they are to old to want to be bothered with me anymore 😂😂 Enjoy the sunshine! These little gems are FINALLY at the Manx Museum! After having to wait for bits and pieces that kept getting waylaid in the post finally they are finished. Just a small warning that there are only a very limited number of these beauties and once they are gone they are gone this year as for reasons that will become obvious soon I'm not going to have time to make more! So if I were you I would get in early to avoid disappointment 🙂 . . . #manxmuseum #manxnationalheritage #harrykellyscottage #newstockalert #whentheyaregonetheyaregone #christmasornament #christmas2020 #fusedglass #fusedglassartist #warmglassuk #warmglass #isleofman #cregneash #glonneydesigns (at Manx Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/CF4-s3XpKui/?igshid=jk4o48hrr2mo

This bank holiday weekend is the Isle of Man Art Festival (the event formally known as WOSAT) and to explain what it’s all about, I have stolen the description from the their Facebook page and here it is: –
“THIS WEEKEND!
An annual three-day celebration of visual art, encompassing open access to artist studios, exhibitions, workshops and demonstrations right across the Island!
Formerly known as the Western Open Studio Art Trail (WOSAT), the re-brand has allowed greater scope to encourage Island-wide artist participation.
Entrance to studios, demonstrations and exhibition venues over all three days will be by purchase of a wrist band at £3, which includes a free festival guide. Students will receive a concessional rate of £2 and everyone under 18 goes free! All venues will be open 11am – 5pm over the three day weekend.
Wrist bands and guides are available to purchase before the Festival via Noa Bakehouse in Douglas, the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal, The Sayle Gallery, the House of Manannan in Peel, The Isle Gallery in Tynwald Mills, presence of Mann in Laxey, Studio 42 in Port St Mary and Thompson Travel in Port Erin. During the event, you can also buy them at the Corrin Hall in Peel and artist studios.
MORE INFO → www.creativenetwork.im
The Art Festival is organised by the Creative Network, and valuable support is provided by the Isle of Man Arts Council, Manx National Heritage, Peel Commissioners and partner galleries.”
So, that is the basic out line of what is going on this year written far more succinctly than I could! It is all very exciting and I think we have all been super busy getting everything together for the event and this year, rather than most of the event being concentrated in just the North of the Island, there are things to do all over the place!
This time, I personally have pared back what I am doing for the festival. So, last year, I had a stall in the Corrin Hall, Peel (which is happening again with lots of lovely things to be bought and you can speak to the artists as well!) but this year I am only doing a shop window display in Peel which you will be able to see at Cowley’s Pharmacy.
It is looking to be a brilliant weekend- everyone at the opening ceremony was buzzing about it and, for the amount of things on offer, it is a weekend’s entertainment for a bargain price! As I am doing far less this year I hope to get around to have a skeet and I am very much looking forward to it!
Please everyone pray hard for decent weather all weekend!!!!

In the last week or so (don’t ask me when, it’s all blurring together time moves so fast!)
Rave Having a Paddle in Sulby
my good friend Nellie and her daughter Raven, who both just happen to be the arty photography types, and I headed out on one of the sunniest days we’ve had over here in the Isle of Man for a while so they could take some lovely pictures of my work for me!
I had the easy job- I was just chauffeuring them to where they thought they could get the best pictures, generally getting in the way and basking in the sunshine, I have such a hard life!
Anyway we ended up at Spooyt Vane Chapel (which handily is owned by my husband’s family) and then we did some paddling up in Sulby Glen to try and get some interesting shots, water and glass make a good combo and I think it’s definitely a photography excursion in itself for the future…watch this space….

So I haven’t actually done any computer wizardry on these beauties yet, but I thought you might like to have a peruse and see what you think! There are a lot more picture but it was slowing everything down so I have just put in the highlights.

The concept of ‘Success’
The concept of ‘Success’
I think success is odd concept for a small business because how, when you work by yourself in a unique business, can you gauge how well you are doing in your market place?
I have been selling my work for about 3ish years now and, to begin with, it was really hard to build up my customer base, stockists and so forth and some days I really did miss the reliable income of my old office job work!
