A 19 year old Detroit woman who was shot dead after knocking on a strangers door, was looking for help after a car crash, according to her family. The stranger claimed that his shotgun discharged accidentally hitting the woman in the face after he thought she was breaking into his house.

Thousands of people in the Philippines are feared dead after Typhoon Haiyan wreaked havoc, in what people are calling a super storm. There are now global fears as the storm, being hailed as the worst cyclone to ever hit land, heads towards mainland Vietnam.

Breaking News - Man buried alive in Brazil
A man who was buried alive in Brazil has been rescued after a passerby, who was visiting a grave of a relative, noticed that the ground was moving. How the man ended up in that grave is still unknown but there is speculation among the Brazilian people who think he may have been attacked then burried.

A British soldier has been killed on Afghanistan. The soldier, from the third battalion, was on patrol in the area when I suicide bomber blew himself up in a car. This death takes the British death toll to 446 since the British soldiers first went to war in October 2001.

Breaking News - Two skydiving planes collide
Two planes carrying groups of skydivers have collided in mid air. The planes collided at 12,000 feet causing one aircraft to explode into three pieces and barrel to the ground and the second plane was badly damaged but was landed at a nearby airport by the pilot. All of the skydivers were able to jump from the planes just after impact and none were injured.

A riot that broke out a Maidstone prison earlier today has been brought under control. A special police unit trained to handle riot situations got the prisoners under control during operation tornado. No prisoners or prison staff were injured in the riot.

Breaking News - Kansas school bus plunges into creek
Ten children and a school bus driver have been rescued after the bus they were travelling in plunged into a creek swollen by heavy rain.
As the bus lay on its side half-submerged, the children climbed through a hatch in the roof where they stayed until rescuers arrives.
The accident happened outside of Douglass, a town of about 1,700 residents southeast of Wichita, Kansas.

Breaking News - Drug smuggling super tunnel found
A drug smuggling super tunnel has been discovered by US officials linking Tijuana in Mexico to San Diego.
Its one of the most sophisticated secret passages ever found along the US-Mexico border and would have cost millions of dollars to complete.
Authorities seized 8.5 tonnes of Marijuana and 327lbs of Cocaine during the raid. Three men were also arrested.

Breaking News - LA Airport shooting
a security agent has been killed and three more people wounded in a shooting at Los Angeles International airport.
Police say the gunman pulled a semi automatic rifle out of a bag and opened fire near a security checkpoint at terminal 3.
The suspect, identified as 23 year old Paul Ciancia, was taken into custody after being wounded during an exchange of gunfire with police.

Breaking News - New York raises legal cigarette purchase age
New York is raising the legal age for buying cigarettes from 18 to 21, imposing some of the strictest limits on tobacco products in any American city.
The city council voted overwhelmingly in favour of the measure on Wednesday.
It also approved a bill that sets a minimum $10.50 a pack for tobacco cigarettes and steps up law enforcement on illegal tobacco sales.

The severed head of a former Brazilian footballer was left in a backpack o the front step of his house.
Joao Rodrigo Silva Santos, 35, was a forward for a number of mostly second tier Rio De Janerio football teams before retiring and opening a health food store.
Mr Santos' eyes and tongue had been gouged out according to Brazilian media sources.

Breaking News - Indian Bus Crash Kills 40
At least 40 people, including children, have been killed after a bus crashed into an oil tanker and burst into flames in southern India.
It is being reported that many victims, who were apparently asleep at the time of the collision, were trapped inside and burnt alive in the inferno. 
The vehicle, which was carrying around 44 passengers, was travelling from Bangalore city to Hyderabad when the crash happened, around 800 miles from the Indian capital, New Delhi.

Three people have been killed and a dozen more injured after a dust storm led to a pile up in Arizona.
Officials said 19 vehicles, including at least six trucks, were involved in the chain-reaction crash.
The accident took place on Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tuscon.
Authorities said at least one passenger car was pinned between two big rigs.

The man, who was wearing a belt of explosives, detonated his charge near the Riadh Palm Hotel in Sousse - moments befoe security foiled a similar attack elsewhere.
It is believed to be the first suicide bombing to ever take place in the country.

Breaking News - 4 People die in storm
Four people have been killed by falling trees in the worst storm to hit Britain in a decade.
Bethany Freeman, 17, died after a 30ft tree fell onto a static caravan that she was sleeping in, in Kent. 
Donal Drohan, 51, died after a tree hit his car as he drove through Watford in Hertfordshire.
The body of the storm's third and fourth victims, a man in his 40's and a woman, were found at addresses in Hounslow, west London, which were devastated after a tree struck a gas main which led to an explosion.
