Nonetheless a bright box was on her desk. It had no note, she began to unwrap it, perhaps inside there is a note or a hint of who sent it. To her surprise, she found a beautiful rabbit plushie. It was not Chappy, but she does not mind. It was merely adorable. And then, she found a hint of who gave it, her captain. She will have to give him the thanks when she sees him.

He always was a parental figure to her, and it means a world to her that he remembered her birthday. He probably does it with all the members of the squad, after all, he always prioritized every single one of his subordinates. Rukia’s arms wrapped for a while around his back, smiling. Then she separated from him and he gently placed a small bag on her hands. She looked at his gentle eyes and when heard that he prepared specially for her, the petite female could not avoid smiling brightly at him.

“Thanks very much, Ukitake-taichou! I’m sure that is delicious! Thank you again for the present and especially for remembering my birthday!”

—[ 氷の女王]— Hopefully for Rukia, she does not have to go to work today. She had requested a free day, something which she rarely does. Although, the work has been exhausting the past weeks, and she thought she truly deserves a rest on her birthday. She even requested her maids to not wake up at the usual hour, just to sleep one or two hours more than usual. Nonetheless, she perceived someone sliced the door, but as fast as it happened, the person left. Rukia only thought that the maids could have forgotten her request, so continue sleeping. 

After almost three hours, Rukia decided that was the best moment to wake up. Also, as she would be probably the last person in the manor to have breakfast, she would have to request they bring it to her chambers. She merely hates skipping meals. In the meantime she requested it, and noticed a petite, luxurious and elegant box disposed of on her desk. She approached and read the unmistakable Byakuya’s handwriting, always so fancy and precise. She took the box in her hands and opened, seeing a pink paper wrapping something. Slowly moved the paper to find a unique ring made of gold with the family crest on it. A gasp escaped from her mouth. Does this mean that she is a true Kuchiki now? After all those years, she got a symbol of the clan. Her brother was telling her how proud is of her…
