Parallel Parking

Remus is late.

Normally being a few minutes late to his very professional prestigious job at Hogwarts Children Library wouldn’t be a huge deal.

Normally.

You see today is the start of summer vacation. Which means that it’s also the start of what Remus likes to call hell.

Every year on the first day of summer starts the first day of Hogwarts summer reading camp. Now when Remus first volunteered to be a counselor he was expecting it to be calm and quiet.

He was wrong.

Now don’t get him wrong he loves most of the kids. He lived how excited they get about reading even at a young age. He loves how they don’t hesitate to help when someone is struggling with a project. He loves how they remind him of his younger self.

What he doesn’t love is the head counselor and boss, Albus.

From and outside view he seem like a normal nice guy. That’s what Remus thought too. For the first 2 years he work for the summer camp he didn’t mind Albus. He would also go as far to say that he was a good boss.

But as Albus got more comfortable he also started to got stricter with his employees. Some might say Albus wasn’t that bad and he just cared for the camp. But It was honestly stressful on Remus.

Most of the time he could deal with Albus. But when he calls Remus at 4 in the morning on a Wednesday to come into work on his week off Remus had half the mind to quit right then and there.

But he couldn’t not only because of his care for the kids but also because his brain was clouded with sleep. Which lead to him taking a 5 minute nap. Which lead to a 15 minute nap. Which lead to a 30 minute nap. Which lead to him be terribly late.

He probably should have been more worried for what Albus was going to say but he couldn’t be arsed. He just wanted this day to be over with already.

Remus was a good driver. To prove this he has never gotten a ticket, he’s never been pulled over, and until this day he’s never ever gotten into an accident.

Sure, accidentally hitting - bumping really barely even touched it if we are being honest - someone’s motorcycle may not seem like the worst thing but Remus wouldn’t be Remus with out freaking out.

This all could’ve been avoided if he were better at parallel parking. Because while he was a good driver, he could never for the life of him parallel park.

He’s tried and tried and for some reason he’s never been able to get it perfect.

With a long, very very long sigh, Remus got out his car and checked the motorcycle for any obvious damage. And while he couldn’t see any he wasn’t going to take any chances.

He hurriedly went to his car and wrote out a note with his phone number on it. Before putting on the bike he waited 5 minutes -5 minutes he didn’t have- for the rider. When they didn’t come he slid the note somewhere secure then hurriedly turned to leave.

Albus was going to be furious but Remus was to tired and annoyed to care.

A/N: Okay so this is the first time I’ve every wrote a fic so it’s probably not the best but if you have any critiques please let me know!!

I know there’s no dialogue in this chapter ( it’s not a full chapter btw) and that physically pains me I just couldn’t find a way to include it yet!!

I am planning on this fic being mostly a wolfstar texting fic but I’m like obsessed with jegulus and Mary lily so there with 100% be background (possibly get there own oneshot) ships in this

I’m planning on publishing on ao3 once I get the invite email for my 2nd acc for any of you who are wondering
