Uh ok so first of all i have a really crazy bias lmao bc I have 17 blogs, 12 of which are rp blogs lol (i'm counting this one as a rp blog too even if it's 90% ooc and only like 10% in character- there's a reason one of my tags is actually in character lawyer??)

If you like doing it (which it sounds like you do), then who cares if anyone thinks it's cringe. Is it cringe to enjoy something? Not while you're enjoying it (in like 40 years you might look back like "...wow i was weird 40 years ago) but for the moment, you like doing it and it makes you happy, so why wouldn't you do it?

Some people like your friend may think it's cringe, but I think what they mean by that is mostly that they wouldn't like - or they don't think they would like- doing rps, and I get it, not everyone likes doing the same things.

For your question of who's right, your friend or you, I would definitely say you (again with a very big bias lol) mostly because it's your life, if they don't like it then they don't need to interact with it.
