"Jesus died for my sins, but He doesn't live in my heart -- He wouldn't fit. The Holy Spirit is in my heart now." ( -- Alex Malarkey, The boy who came back from heaven)

sometimes your expectations disappoints you but your friends don't
(korny to)
evening before my birthday. iniisip ko na kung ano ung ibibigay sakin nung grandparents/parents ko sakin. they gave my eldest sister a car, they ask my other sis what she wants para sa kanyang debut. *nag eexpect, nag eexpect bago mag march1 kasi it is my 21st bday:]* pero bago pa yan, ramdam ko na, na may kulang, but i prayed before i sleep. and here we are "it's my day" na dapat masaya ako pagkagising ko palang. pero wala, hindi ramdam. because i'm expecting to got something. my parents just greeted me HBD with a smile. un lang, at nagtatampo ako!! no one asked me what i want. eto ung birthday ko na gusto ko lang mag stay sa bahay, manuod ng movie all day, wala manlang akong ginawang plans to go out with friends. bakit? kasi im soooo disappointed. ang bigat sa pakiramdam. gusto kong isigaw lahat yan.but all of that changed when kuya ver(our pastor) called me to go out. twas already 6.30, mejo ayoko na umalis ng bahay kasi masyado nanaman gagabihin tapos mapapagalitan nanaman. pero it's my day, kaya naging kampante ako. when they picked me up, dumaan muna kami shawarma house with ate ingrid&atasha(kuyaver's wife & daughter). sila pa nanlibre sakin. nakakahiya hahah. after non, dumiretso na kami sa mcdo, para daw icelebrate ang aking birthday kasama ang aking churchmates. nasurprise ako na may Q&A portion para daw makilala ako "NA UMIKOT LANG SA KUNG SINO CRUSH HAHAH" CAPSPARAINTENSE ganon pala ang mag-gisa pero parang na deep fry ata ako sa nangyari, nakakapanlamig. after nun, they gave word sa akin, nakakatuwa at the same time nakakaiyak basta.
THEY MADE MY DAY FRUITFUL. (teary eyed)
sometimes your expectations disappoints you but your friends don't.

The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert. There the devil tempted him. 2 After 40 days and 40 nights of going without eating, Jesus was hungry. - Luke 4:1-2
I was reading this passage this morning and immediately my attention turned to these verses. Before I continue, we need to remember that God didn’t led Jesus to be tempted but led Jesus into the wilderness and satan found an opportunity to tempt Jesus. Just to make sure we are on the same page.
Anyhow I was like, ‘God why did you led Jesus into the wilderness?’
and then this answer came to my mind. The reason why God led His Son into the wilderness is to prepare him for his mission which is to spread the message of the kingdom, His atoning work on the cross and His divinity. thus requires a lot of praying, fasting and spending time with The Father. We learned that Jesus is fully God and fully human so we know that he experienced hunger and weakness just like we do. And then comes satan, he saw an opportunity and he saw Jesus in his state, weak and hungry. And of course we all know what happened. Jesus was victorious against satan’s temptations.
But here’s the crazy part. God reminded me of the times when he led me into the wilderness. Times when He led me in a dark and dry season and I remember my response wasn’t close to Jesus response. I certainly didn’t fast, pray, spend time in His word or worship.
And then it hit me. The reason why God allows us to go through trials, testings is because :
He is preparing us for an upcoming season/mission. And that requires a lot of praying and spending time with Him so we can better equip ourselves through Him.
It is His desire and will for all His children to fast, pray, worship and read His word during those season.
Just like Jesus, everytime we feel like we are going through or about to enter a time of dark and dry season, remember to respond like how Christ did. Seek His father in prayer and fasting. It is when we are weak that the enemy wants to devour us and tempt us, but at the same time it is in our weakness that God desires for us to abide closely and strongly with Him. I love what apostle Paul says in Corinthians, ‘When I am weak, He is strong.’ It is easy to praise and worship God in joyful season but when we are struggling we tend to rely on our own strength.
Let us hold fast to our Savior whether in the dark season or joyful season. Let us remember that in Christ we find our strength and hope. In Christ, Mark Muldez

An 87 Year Old College Student Named Rose The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned round to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being. She said, “Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?” I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze. “Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?” I asked. She jokingly replied, “I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids…” “No seriously,” I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age. “I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!” she told me. After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months, we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this “time machine” as she shared her wisdom and experience with me. Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up. At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, “I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.” As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, “We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it!There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets.” She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.” She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year’s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’s never too late to be all you can possibly be .When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they’ll really enjoy it! These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE. REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL. We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.
