keep seeing people complain about how Rhaenys “was totally cool with her husband cheating on her” and I think that’s just an extremely superficial way of seeing it.

The way it was conveyed in the show is that Rhaenys has been aware for many years. She didn’t just find out.

We don’t know how she took it when she first learned of it.

They might very well have had their falling out then, but they have put the matter behind themselves to a degree. Not all couples split up after an affair.

We still see that it hurts her deeply, even after all these years. The wound is reopened when she actually sees one of his sons for the first time—that’s what we see.

The truth is, we don’t get enough info from the show to know exactly how Rhaenys handled Corlys’ infidelity or even what her feelings were about it. All we see is that—as per usual—she puts the realm first. They’re at war, they have no time for marital quarrels about something that happened decades ago.
