AITA for "firing" my boyfriend’s best friend because he was clingy and acted like he had the upper hand?

So Reddit, I’m the CEO of an organization that helps people through competitive child-like games. My boyfriend wanted to join in and play with the participants again, and I said yes. I even decided to join him because honestly, he’s too good for his own safety sometimes.

Now here’s where the drama starts: I’m someone who sympathizes with the “broken bitches,” and my BF reunited with his old guy best friend. Ever since they reconnected, that bestie wouldn’t leave his side. Everywhere my BF went, he followed like a puppy. And my BF was being super overprotective of him—like, sir, he’s a grown man, not a toddler!

Things escalated. The bestie tried to feed my BF with his spoon (gross?), and then later he asked for some soju or something—I wasn’t even involved because they told me to go to bed. While I was gone, they had this deep emotional conversation.

What really annoyed me? I know I should be the bigger person, so I gave the bestie some advice on a game I designed. And the next minute, this man pulls a full-on power play and starts giving me advice on it—like he knows it better than I do. My BF even seemed serious about it, probably still caught up in his trauma... but then he laughed with him. If you ask me, it felt like an indirect message: “See, I’ve got the upper hand.” Still, for my BF’s sake, I swallowed my pride and let it go.

Then they decided to do this challenge—“Who will reach the control room?” I asked if I could join the corridor mission, even gave my BF the classic puppy dog look. He ignored me. His eyes were glued to his bestie, and he told me no. At first I thought maybe it was to protect me… but then I heard his bestie on the walkie-talkie ask, “Why’d you choose me over him ?” And my BF replied, “Because you’re my best friend.”

That was it. The final straw. The camel's back snapped.

I was furious. I stopped the game, put on my CEO suit, and straight-up fired the best friend in front of my BF. And yeah… my BF cried. Like, really cried. He was angry, and we haven’t talked about it yet.

Now I’m wondering… was I the asshole for firing the guy? I reacted in the heat of the moment, I’m having second thoughts. . I acted out of hurt and jealousy, sure, but seeing how much it affected him makes me wonder… AITA?
