Will Marvel’s new young black female genuis take on Iron Man’s mantle?

This post contains spoilers from Marvel’s Endgame.

At only 15 years old she is a genius engeneering student and a freshman at MIT, RiRi Williams was introduced to the Marvel Universe in 2016 via comics. With the recent death of Iron Man a.k.a. Tony Stark, the question is who will take up the mantle. 

In 2016 Marvel Introduced RiRi Williams in their comic  Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 Issue 9, but she made a small cameo in issue #7 of the series.

RiRi Williams is a 15 year old genius and a Freshman college student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Working alone in her dorm, RiRi designs a suit of armor similar to Iron Man’s suit using materials stolen from the campus. When she recieves a know at her door she flees wearing the suit. 

When Williams prevents two inmates from escaping the New Mexico State Penitentiary, her suit is damaged. Upon returning to her mother's house, Riri continued to work on improving the suit, much to the dismay of her aunt. Tony Stark hears of Riri's accomplishment and goes to meet her. During their meeting, Tony Stark decides that he will endorse her decision to become a superheroine.

   If marvel does decide to go this route via movies, they would probablly make RiRi older, maybe around Junior College student older. So we are going to go ahead and play who we think should get the role and list a few of our choices for this character.

Madam CJ Walker, 1st American Female Millionaire, Gets Netflix Series

If you know your black history then you are familiar with historic figure Madam CJ Walker. Walker is known for selling her own line of hair product catered to black women, and becoming the first female Millionaire in America.

Walker's oldest living relative is A'Lelia Bundles, who was adopted by Walker's granddaughter. Bundles is alive today and is a published author and journalist.

The series titled Self Made: Inspired By The Life of Madam C.J. Walker stars Acadamey Award Winning actress Octavia Spencer, who stared in The Help, Hidden Figures, and her latest horror film MA, takes on the role of Walker. The limited series is 4 parts and debuts March 20, 2020. Actresses Tiffany Haddish is set to play walker's daughter Leila, Actor Blair Underwood as Walker's husband, and Actress Carmen Ejogo as Walker's business rival Addie.

Three Democratic Presidential candidates we hope take home the presidential title for 2020

The race is on for the 2020 presidency seat and there are way too many democratic nominees to keep up with. We have rounded up our top three candidates favorite candidates for the role. 

It’s a new age and it’s time for new change. It’s time to do away with the traditional presidential candidates, you know the one’s that are basically puppets, the one’s that don’t really push for real change but instead rather keep traditional boring democratic values, candidates such as Joe Biden. It’s time for candidates that will actually push for things that matter to everday working class americans, candates that want to help those that are working a 9 to 5 to have a better life, candidates that want to also move forward with legalizing marijuana. 

Elizabeth Warren 

Candidate Elizabeth warren is definitely one hopeful that we want to win the presidential candidacy. Warren served many years as a lwa professor and in 2012 became senator for the state of Massachusets. If Warren wins the 2020 election she will become the FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Issues

Taxes - Warren vows to increase the tax rate on billionaires. Billionaires hardly pay enough in taxes, Warren created a billionaire tax calculator that shows how much billionaires will pay in taxes and to sum it up, it’s not that much and the billionaires are livid. Billionaire Bill Gates has $106 Billion dollars and with Warrens tax plan he’ll be paying $6.3 Billion in taxes, and to us that seems pretty fair, but Bill Gates seems to think that it’s insane. Imagine the infastructure, the education, the health benefits and more that we can provide to low income families and persons with Warren’s billionaire tax rate.

Marijuana Legalization - Warren is all for it, but it wasn’t until her recent run for presidency that she went for it. At first Warren only wanted to Legalize medical Marijuana that is up until her run for presidency, so we are a little unsure if she’s either saying this truthfully or for votes, but either way she’s still a great candidate for the seat

Ending the influence of money in government - Believe it or not, our govenrment isn’t as fair as it may seem, money plays a big part in who gets to choose what for the citizens of this country. There are politicians that will accept bribary for government favors such as passing laws, bills, and policies. Warren plans to end the greed of the government. 

other issues include, lowering rent in the country by %10, student debt cancellation, providing grants to black entrepreneurs and other entrepreneurs of color, raising minimum wage to $15 an hour and more.

BERNIE SANDERS

Senator Bernie Sanders is no stranger to this race, Sanders ran against Hillary Clinton in the last Democratic Primaries but the DNC decided that Clinton was the best choice, which was strange due to the fact that Sanders polls were higher than Trump’s and Hillary’s, and Hillary’s was lower than Trumps. Sanders who is former Senator for the state of Vermont is throwin his hat in the ring once again. Sanders is also no stranger fighting for the lives of African Americans in this country, marching alongside African American Icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and also getting arrested protesting alongside other Civil Rights protesters. 

ISSUES

Marijuana - Sanders has a long history of standing alongside the issue of decriminalizing Marijuna as well as pardoning indivduals incarcerted for crimes involving the natural herb.

Medicare - Sanders wants to implement Medicare for all, a single payer healthcare plan in which the United States government pays for the helth needs of it’s citizens. People claim that this doesn’t work, but there is evidence that it does, just look at Switzerland and a host of other countries where it works. No wonder Tina Turner moved to Switzerland.

Free College - It’s just as simple as that no tution. The federal government would give states and tribes at least $48 billion per year, through a two-to-one federal dollar match program, if states commit to eliminating tuitions and fees at public universities and colleges.

Housing For All - End homelessnes and make rent affordable by making Section 8 vouchers available to all eligible families without a waitlist and strengthening the Fair Housing Act.Combat gentrification, exclusionary zoning, segregation, and speculation.

ANDREW YANG

New York born candidate Andrew Yang is throwing his hat into the race and with some ideas so great that many may seem to think it’s unbelievable, but in this life anything is possible. 

Issues

Universal Based Income - Yang wants to create a policy were every American above the age of 18 recieves a $1,000 a month check from the U.S. Government, which he calls The Freedom Dividen. Imagine how many people this would help in this government. Many of the U.S. citizens are overworked and underpaid and barely make enough money to stay afloat. Most make only enough money to pay their bills and not enough for things they actually need such as food, or ways to get around and many other factors. This would also help Americans who strive to create thier own businesses. Many of us get stuck in 9 to 5 jobs and can barely make enough to create something of our own so that we to may enjoy life and live happily or comfortably. 

Human Centerd Campitalism - Which is basically stating that humans are more important than money and that our economy should work to fit the needs of it’s citizens instead of it’s pockets.

Criminal Justice Reform - Legalizing Marijuna, ending Mass Incarceration, Decreasing pre-trial bail are just some of the things inder Yang’s Criminal Justice Reform.

Kash Dolls gives out 20 Scholarships in Detroit

Dec 24th, Rapper Kash Doll hosted her 2nd Christmas Scholarship giveaway i n partnership with the Detroit Health Department and Phlebotomy Express Training. The rapper was to give away ten Vocational Helathcare Scholarships to ten lucky students, but decided to give away twenty instead. 

The scholarships are to benefit students studying to become medical assistants or phlebotomy technicians and assist with financial aid during the 2020 school-year.

DaBaby has proof of police wrongfully arresting and charging him

On December 23rd in Charolette, North Carolina rapper DaBaby was arrested for misdemeanor possesion of marijuana according to a statement from the  Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

According to rapper DaBaby, he was falsey accused and he has official video footage of the arrest. DaBaby had an entire camera crew with him during the arrest already filming. He also stated that “They Tried to put this on me” while showing some items to the camera, leading us to believe that the police were also trying to plant evidence.

Actress & Singer Amanda Seales, is the newest member of day time talk show “The Real”. Seales is mostly known for joining the singing duo Floetry back in 2007 and more recently known for he role in HBO’s popular sitcom ‘Insecure’. 

Seales will definitely be a great addition to the show, she is known for speaking up for what she believes, strongly voicing her opinions, as well as being an advocate against white privilege and for African American culture. We are excited to see what Amanda brings to the show in 2020.
