Arcane HC: Viktor was a bug kid. Growing up he loved to observe the bugs/insects in the undercity because they fascinated him and there was not much to do given he didn't have many friends.

Jayce didn't know this and killed one that got in the lab once, in front of Viktor. He made that mistake once.

He quickly realised Viktor will watch them like tv and then gently carry them outside. In fact, some of his inventions were vaguely inspired by the anatomy. Viktor was a bug kid and he grew up to be a bug adult.

Arcane HC: Jayce and Viktor got drunk together once, after the innovators competition, then returned back to the lab for some notes or whatever before they'd head home. Somehow, they ended up making out, and then fell asleep, still in the lab.

When they woke up on the next day, they both pretended they didn't remember anything from the night prior and then never brought it up again, each assuming they were the only one to know.

Viktor did eventually, years later, after they officially got together and Jayce almost died on the spot.
