“For Indigenous people, one of the greatest challenges to interpreting art is that our knowledge defies the restrictions of time because we are the closest connection to the past, as much as we are the connection to the future. And, what separates us is the liminal experiences of death and birth, and beyond both, time is boundless.”
heather ahtone. "Shifting the Paradigm of Art History: A Multi-sited Indigenous Approach".
Igloliorte, Heather, and Carla Taunton. The Routledge Companion to Indigenous Art Histories in the United States and Canada. Taylor & Francis, 2022.

Fuck the Democratic party. You did this. Blood is on your hands. You let hatred thrive in your community, purposefully allowed it to simmer and this is the result. Who is gonna vote for you? Because you're not Trump? Fuck that shit. I'm tired of expecting better.
the way israel could quite possibly seize the west bank this week and american protest turnout and material action will not increase because liberals got tired of hearing about palestine and decided to not care anymore.

I saw the TV glow absolutely broke me. I cried so many times while watching it and I'm still crying now. Knowing that I considered my broken my whole, that I was constantly chasing for happiness which has always felt further away from me the more time passed; figuring out that I'm trans doesn't stop the 20 years of the damage and the damage won't stop immediately, I actually need to learn to grow and change and start to improve myself. Just such a fantastic film.

not that either is a good thing but there is a small cosmic sort of irony to appreciate in the way that the russian invasion of ukraine and the most recent nakba happened so close together and how they through comparison made it undeniably clear how much the definition of war crime and genocide and atrocity &etc depends on the geopolitical interests of the imperial core

a crack, a mistake, ever-expanding, there’s no end in sight. a new world. just a minute ago we lived in a different world. looking for stability in “unprecedented” times is futile, sometimes there just aren’t answers and you’re meant to continue on like nothing happened, like your whole world hasn’t changed, like everything’s the same. i just want to live in a moment, separated from time, from history, from future. but i know that that’s impossible.
what i create comes from those little moments, from my fears, my hopes, my dreams, from collective pasts. this particular idea came from a history of broken technology, from future e-waste, from something i can’t fix, at least not yet.
