Happy Thanksgiving
I'm sorry for all the awful shit in the world and any part I played to let it persist. I'm thankful for family. I'm thankful for friends who inspire hope in me. Please stay safe and find the joy we can bring back into this world.

It still surprises me at how few people have seen Freak of the Week, and I love sharing it with friends because of the inevitable, “How the hell have I never seen this?” look of awe drawn out on their face.
And man, it really is gorgeous.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Directed by Juanjo Guarnido, it took the team about a year of hard work to hammer out this bloody masterpiece (which you can learn about in his video here) using a combination of 3D animation with the power of college interns  skill of a team of artists to painstakingly re-draw the 3D elements they wanted in 2D frame-by-frame, not to mention the post processing and… everything else.
Even though it came out in 2014, it doesn’t seem to have ever garnered the attention it truly deserves.
I really wanna drive this point home, so to give you an idea, Ghost by Mystery Skulls, animated by MysteryBen27 has 18,147,263 views.   Freak of the Week has only 2,271,121 views at the time I’m writing this.  That’s fucking depressing for something so … phenomenal.  I want more of this, and hell, maybe you do too.  But we’re not going to see anymore simply because the right people haven’t seen it.  In fact, it failed to reach a respectable level of Internet Popularity®, Juanjo himself even described it in the comments section as having ruined him because of how little attention it got.
So if you’re reading this and you’ve got some connections with a TV network or something, consider pulling some strings to get this video spoon-fed to the masses, because people ought to see this.  I’m sure Juanjo would be all too happy to oblige.  And hell, if you wanna buy the art book, you can get the link here for about $50.
Now, maybe you recognize the former Disney animator Juanjo Guarnido for his other work: Blacksad.

Which is a comic set in the late 1950′s about a hardboiled private investigator published originally by Dark Horse Comics that does… y’know, the …
… noir investigator …

That I haven’t yet read but I TOTALLY NEED TO.
Look,
I guess I’m bringing up Freak of the Week because I was reading the comment section and, man, it kinda got me down.
Tumblr media
Some of the best things things out there just haven’t been seen by the right people, I guess.  But I suppose it’s also a depressing statement on the culture of the internet that the video makes.

Final Fantasy XIV, in it’s original incarnation, had been a rushed, bugged, and ultimately failed attempt at a FF game. Their servers could not hold the meager demand for players, the interface was difficult to navigate, and there was so much erroring and downtime that the developers had to give subscriptions away for free just to keep people playing.
Yet in spite of this, I wish I had the opportunity to play FFXIV version 1 prior to it going offline, even if it was shite, just to be able to witness the final moments of the in-game world. Not only did the developers acknowledge that the game needed a serious reboot that would take months to implement, but they figured a creative way to write this into the game’s lore.
The main storyline told of an enemy trying to bring Dalamud, one of the world’s moons, to Hydaelyn. The players would uncover more of this plot as they days went on, revealing the inevitable destruction of the planet a la Meteor. Over the course of several patches, the game gradually changed. It started with unusual weather patterns, a red moon inching it’s way towards the blue one commonly seen at night. Atomos began to spawn in common areas, bodies of water dried up, others appeared. Monster mobs changed, they became higher in level and more numerous. Imperial soldiers appeared in formerly allied areas.
Then during the final days, the sky opened up to reveal the falling moon. Enemy airships flew over common skies. Giant monsters only battled in end-game dungeons spawned in towns to be fought. The Battle of Carteneau brought players from around the world into one field to fight off Imperial Soldiers. Messages from the battlefront, “Confound it! We’ve lost contact with the main host!” signaled the falling of the allies in Carteneau.
All of this led up to the final ten minutes, where everyone online watched all hell break loose; not simply a moon falling from the sky, but Bahamut breaking through it. The characters you had met along the storyline were there, doing their best to contain the destruction, only to fall short of sealing the dragon away. Bahamut defeated the “Heroes of Light”, and destroyed much of the land.
And all at once, the servers went offline. Players could no longer log in. They had just witnessed the end of an era, standing together on cliffs and overlooks, watching this among friends and allies, listening to the hymns distorted by the march of battle and the foreboding storm.
I wondered what was going through their minds as they watched this, knowing that in a few short hours, everything they had accomplished and worked for would be gone until A Realm Reborn was finally released. Some speculated if it would never be released, citing the ultimate failure of the current game.
But it returned, better than ever, addressing the issues of the previous game with a better interface, game mechanics, and servers. FFXIV: ARR now stands as one of the most popular paid-to-play MMORPGs on the market, and with good reason.
Leave it to Square-Enix to roll with a failure to make things better.

Plan for Saving America
1. Never punch down No discourse is improved by assuming others have an inferior view point. Treat your fellows with respect, as you would have them treat you.
2. Talk with your relatives if you can Your relatives should atleast understand your view point, even if they don’t agree. Not everyone can safely speak with their relatives so those of us who can, should seek to minimize the generation gap.
3. Listen to what people have to say Everyone has their reasons to believe and follow their beliefs. Hear them out and try to find the common ground. Most of all, respect that both of you have formed your opinions over a lifetime.
4. Understand your core reasoning Avoid taglines everytime you can and understand the personal experiences that form your view. From there understand how your views inform your policies.
5. Reevaluate your beliefs regularly Understand that everyone can be wrong and that a belief that doesn’t hold up must be re evaluated. Sometimes this means big shifts in think and sometimes it’s more nuanced understanding of systems and people.

URGENT WISCONSIN SIGNAL BOOST
Tumblr media
They are celebrating ID Fraud and lack of democracy, that’s right.
It is estimated right now that 300,000 people in Wisconsin don’t have the right ID to vote on Tuesday 5th, one of these:
http://bringit.wi.gov/do-i-have-right-photo-id
Now LISTEN, if you don’t have an ID that they are going to accept for you to vote, get a free ID tomorrow Monday 4th April, you just have to bring some documents to credit your identity, watch the short video, it says everything you need to bring:
http://bringit.wi.gov/how-do-i-get-free-state-id-card
They will give you a receipt that you can and MUST use to vote Tuesday 5th April; is just as valid as the ID, while they are sending it to you.
This is the solution to make sure NO ONE is denied the vote and Bernie Sanders wins BIG, that is what we NEED for him to be president.
3 phonebank calls from everybody of every state and country is as effective as 27$ by everybody, it turns into millions of phonecalls.
Effortless we can and NEED to call to reach everybody in Wisconsin to make sure they know what to do to get this ID receipt in time to vote on Tuesday 5th:
https://www.berniepb.com/
To motivate you, remember how Hillary Clinton wants to control what everybody sees in Internet so nobody has access to free information anymore, like the facts about her.
Also she wants to include articles in the Constitution about abortion, is dangerous to keep opening that door; Bernie Sanders thinks abortion is a health issue not a political one where politicians get to decide what a woman has to do with her own body.
SPREAD THIS VITAL INFORMATION LIKE FIRE, MAKE BERNIE SANDERS WIN BIG ON TUESDAY 5TH IN WISCONSIN. FUCK THEM UP, EVERYBODY GET TO VOTE.

Deborah Is The One
To my esteemed followers, I, Geldshot, am writing to you today because we are facing a crucial decision. Too long have we been led astray by incompetent leaders. Too long have we been ignored by those at the top. We need a change, and there’s only one candidate who can bring that change. I’m writing to you about Deborah. The choice, to me, is easy. A vote for Mop is a vote for opportunism. A vote for opportunism and dishonesty. You know what needs to be done. Vote for Deborah. Thank you for your support, Geldshot #DeborahForChange
