River’s Redesign vs. Original Design
We’ve decided that in light of us releasing the LIs that their clothes deserved a bit more of an upgrade and are currently working on redesigning all the LIs before we release the sprites for the side characters.
We hope you that you’ll like their new designs as much as we do!

can admin lovie tell us more about leila?
Wow, I honestly thought I’d never get an ask about any of my OCs. Much less Leila. Thank you so much. Your interest is very much appreciated. I cannot begin to tell you.
Context: Because Wizardess Heart isn’t based on one specific era I use the Progressive Era (1890-1920) so if you see something that you don’t think was in the game or is questionable, it’s because I’m using a real era to better flesh the world outside of the Academy out. Now on to Leila.
- Leila’s never not had a job. She started her early life helping Yukiya take care of their five younger siblings but when she was 12 she got her first official job as a maid for a family who lived in the countryside, near her hometown. However, this family wasn’t rich. If anything, they were just upper middle class. She worked there as a maid for three years until she decided to move to the city for a better paying job.
- Yes, she indeed Yukiya’s younger sister by two years (her being 17 and Yukiya being 19). After Yukiya ran away it completely tore the family apart and it made her grow up a lot faster than she would have liked. She still has a strained relationship with her mother because of it. Not to say that there isn’t any love between them. No, they love each other deeply but they certainly have very different opinions on Yukiya and on her decision to move to the city alone.
- Speaking of moving to the city alone, she did so against her parents wishes. She didn’t ran away or sneak off. Sadly, subtly isn’t Leila’s strong point. Instead, she told them her intentions and stood by her decision despite the arguing. They were absolutely convinced that their daughter wouldn’t be able to survive alone and be murdered the moment she arrived in the city. Leila is very happy to say that she proved them wrong on both accounts.
- As expected, she does eventually save Yukiya’s soul. By sacrificing her own in a contract with a demon. But the twist to this story is that she made a deal with a Hinamoto demon (or Yokai, if you wanna go there. I’m applying the same rules tho), instead of a Gendonelune demon. The demon Leila made a deal with is known as Jorogumo. Now while this did grant her the ability to use magic (much like Yukiya’s deal with his own demon did), she absolutely no interest in learning magic. She’s spent 17 years of her life without magic and knows literally nothing about magic. She quickly learns that she’s a terrible wizard because of this fact. She doesn’t even know the fundamentals of magic, making a child wizard more skilled than her. Again, much like Yukiya’s own deal with his demon, Leila can turn into a large and dangerous creature herself. She can turn into a giant fucking spider. The only difference is that Yukiya’s health is affected each month and Leila’s is not since spiders aren’t associated with behavioral changes depending on moon phases.
- A big part of her move to the city was her failing relationship with her fiance in her hometown. Remember how I said that she worked for an upper middle class family? Well they had a son who some years older than her and more-or-less grew up with her, who was on his way to being a banker. Needless to say, he thought she was a very attractive young lady and was quite pleased with her work as a maid, believing she’d make the ideal wife for him. And tbh…Leila really considered this marriage, despite the obvious shallow reasons for it. The Reizens are by no means a wealthy family. In truth, they’re actually lower middle class that are constantly going through financial troubles because they’re such a big family. At this time, Leila’s father had a terrible work accident that left him unable to work so that was one less paycheck being brought home. She considered this marriage proposal because she figured it was the best she was ever going to get. A financially secure marriage with agreement that he would help continue to help her siblings? It seemed like the ideal situation for a girl with very little money in a small town with very little options. Thankfully, she had a last minute panic attack and ran away on the day of her wedding. Essentially, leaving her ex fiance at the alter and demolishing her reputation in their small town. At that point, moving the city for a better paying job felt like the only option.
-Finally, her branding: In Yukiya’s deal we see that his demon took his eye. Leila’s demon didn’t do that. She didn’t necessarily take any piece from her. What she did was tattoo their deal on to the entirety of Leila’s back. I feel I should mention that I don’t speak Japanese so I don’t know what’s really written on this model’s back but the point I’m trying to make is that Leila has a big ass back tattoo that spells out the terms and conditions of her deal and it has a very light glow to it whenever she decides to transform into a spider:

I know that was a lot to read and I’m so sorry if I overwhelmed you. But there’s a bit on Leila’s background. If you want to know more about her please feel free to send another ask! I never get to talk about her (to people other than my friends, that is) so I always get very happy when I get an ask about her. Again, thank you so much for you interest!

Elias: The Basics
Emotional expression: Elias never got encouragement to openly express his emotions, especially with the weight of his family’s expectations. He’s always had to have controlled emotions, and that shows through his reactions to his own emotions (such as when he becomes shocked after he has a sudden outburst).
Often described as ‘tsundere’, Elias hides most emotions he has to protect himself from being seen as unfit for his family. He grew up in a place where he likely had to have rehearsed responses in order to appear appropriate for his relatives, the press, business partners, guests, and more. Because of this, he seems to always have an appropriate response for situations where he isn’t overwhelmed.
In a context where he feels overloaded, he’s more likely to express emotion through anger or guilt due to his inexperience with articulating emotions. We’ve all seen him get upset when he doesn’t know what to do in a romantic context. This is an example of his difficulty with emotion, which is often mistaken for being “uptight” as many people describe him to be.
Elias overall is the type of person that is insecure about his own feelings, and he is, therefore, more attracted to people that seem very sure of themselves. This could put him in a very healthy situation (where the person helps build him up) or an abusive situation (where he’s kept in the same place emotionally and forms a reliance on the person taking advantage of his insecurity). This is an important thing to consider when it comes to his dynamics with other people.
Relationships with others: To the general public he always presents himself as respectful, put together, trustworthy, and focused. Because he’s constantly trying to emit this he is often very stiff and it’s quite easy to see what parts of his behavior aren’t natural to him. This is also very commonly seen when he’s interacting with authority figures. He seems to have difficulty forming relationships with others, likely due to his own insecurities.
Klaus is treated as an authority figure by Elias due to the moderate age gap of five years and Klaus’ previous position as Elias’ magic teacher. Elias looks up to Klaus for these reasons, which leaves him vulnerable to Klaus’ opinions about him. Klaus often harshly criticizes Elias on his magic, specifically about how he does it “by the book” and not going too far beyond the standard which he was taught. This is another factor that plays into Elias’ insecurities. Their relationship is strained and has been shown to be unhealthy, but they have both given evidence that supports the fact that they care about each other.
Luca is another special case, but for a very different reason. Elias has revealed that he has been quite attentive towards Luca with his in depth analyses on why he acts out so much. I think it’s very possible they may have had some form of relationship that didn’t end well, but there’s also a possibility that they’re jealous of each other. Elias has everything, Luca was left with nothing. Luca has a natural talent for magic, and Elias has had to work to get to a level people consider admirable. Luca’s negligence may upset Elias because he sees it as wasted potential. I find that even their competitions may be Elias trying to push Luca to work a little harder. And thus, their rivalry began! Either way, they definitely feel something about each other since they have both expressed anger about the other. That’s a sign of caring to some extent.
Personal details:  As I mentioned before, his difficulties with emotions have often been interpreted as being too serious or uptight, but I’d like to debunk that in this section. The law abiding, focused, goody two shoes Elias we all see is actually quite loose with the rules! Does anyone recall when he let Yukiya just walk out of the dorm? Yeah, he got mad at Yukiya but only because he was seeing MC, the person he had affection for. What about when he punched Merkulova in the face? Or broke curfew to help MC? Yeah, he only looks like a good kid. He’ll break rules when he feels the need to. And he gets away with it because people see him as the good kid! Take notes, people.
Now for his interests. I find that there’s some evidence that he doesn’t actually like magic. He’s constantly studying to keep up, and yet shows no creative improvement as Klaus (and other teachers) have stated. If he cared, he would probably improve greatly. I find he’s probably rather indifferent to magic. What he does like, is working with his hands. Although he doesn’t like magic overall, he has been shown to enjoy inventing greatly. He also has a love for music and plays violin, piano, flute, and has had singing lessons. Books are another form of entertainment he likes. Elias seems to really like creating and finding an escape through his hobbies.
A final detail that is quite cute about him is his love for sweets. This boy has been said to always need chocolate, so he probably makes sure he’s got a good stash in his dorm.
That’s all for Elias!

Do you have any recommendations on what stories/chapters to read to get a better idea of the boys? I want to start writing, but I want to get a better sense of their personalities first
To get a feel of the entire universe itself it’s usually best to go with one of the first routes: Yukiya, Elias, or Luca.
When it comes to the boys themselves, it’s certainly a scavenger hunt to try and get information on them. Sometimes information can change too because of changes with writers and ignoring the previous routes. For example, waaaay back in Klaus’ route we found out that his (at the time mysterious and unnamed) older brother was engaged to a girl named Elaine. I haven’t finished Alfonse’s route yet, but so far there’s no mention of an engagement of any kind. And now when mentioning the eldest Goldstein brother Elias and Klaus get angry and uncomfortable, unlike before. Because of this, I can’t give you any specific things to read that will make you a lot more familiar with the boys.
Overall it seems like it’s best to get info on each one in their routes, you can get a good look at how their dynamics are in group spinoffs, and certain characters can give more info on some characters more than others (Klaus talks about Elias a lot, Elias talks about Klaus and Luca, Luca talks about Professor Schuyler and Elias, etc).
The Wiki might give you some good info too if you want to check it out!
Sorry, I can’t give a super clear answer. I hope this helps a little though!

gosh i miss luca i feel like he’s been very absent and overlooked and ahh idk i just miss him :((
He certainly has been quite overlooked because of all the new routes and characters. It’s okay, he’ll always be our weird mischief-making character!
Some random headcanons about him because I haven’t done those in a LONG time:- His sun sign (main zodiac sign) is the charming and sociable Libra, but I definitely think he’s got a clever and adventurous Gemini rising that pushes him closer to trouble at times.- He’s probably got notes to other students on the walls in the detention chamber. I can imagine they’d entail jokes, silly declarations, and the number of times he’s been in there.- He actually felt a bit bad for taking advantage of Merkulova in his route, but of course, no one must ever know that.- Luca seems like the type to get easily bored with topics. He’s studied countless things for a week each before deciding he doesn’t care enough to continue.- This guy definitely has a go bag. A go bag is a bag (usually a backpack or duffel bag) that has everything one would need to quickly leave from somewhere. He made it for emergencies at first, but now he’s used it a couple times to get away from the academy for a while.- Speaking of emergencies, I think Luca is the type to be low-key over prepared. He has planned escape routes based on location in the academy, he learned parts of the forest so he can leave when something bad happens, and he’s probably got things like weapons and money hidden everywhere just in case. - But he’s still got a heart so I think despite his mindset of “every man for himself” he would definitely stick around to help in the worst cases.
Okay, that’s all I got for now. Have a good day!

So uh I found something interesting
For those who don’t remember/don’t follow me, a few nights ago I sorta got drunk and wrote a song about Azusa. I went back over the lyrics doc for shits and giggles and found I had named it “Azusa to Liz no Ondo [Azusa and Liz’s Marching Song”] with a note saying to find the kanji for Azusa bc I had written it in hiragana.
So since I have free time I decided to find the kanji for Azusa and found it’s this:
To double-check that was right, I looked it up in a kanji dictionary. In Japanese, it’s not uncommon for kanji to have several different readings. My own name,  茉莉 (Mari) can be read either Mari or Matsuri. So I looked at the alternate readings for 梓 and found the other one is shi. For those who don’t know, shi is the Japanese word for “death.”
TL;DR The kanji for Azusa can also be read as shi, which is death in Japanese and that’s pretty accurate tbh.
