It's a common rk1k trope to have Connor take a bullet for Markus. Connor's expendable (in his own eyes) and Markus is everything.
But I want that swapped around.
Markus taking a bullet for Connor because Connor's, not fragile, but he was made to be replaceable, and as a deviant can't be replaced. Markus however is a tank and he's been shot many times before. He'll gladly take another bullet if it means Connor is safe.
For @0-0136 , RK1K Cowboy AU (without the hats). Markus and Connor walking on the beach and enjoy the starry night. Commission still remains open (with a pretty short waitlist).
I think all androids can draw in human understanding. They can perfectly recreate the set image. But not all of them can express themselves through drawing.
Imagine human au, where Connor is a patient with an amnesia or some kind of memory loss. Markus is his attending physician and he feels very sorry for him. Every time Connor sees Markus during his morning rounds he starts with “Hello, my name is Connor” and it breaks Markus’ heart.
Oooh, it’s like a 50 First Dates AU and I’m LIVING for it.
Could be amnesia or early-onset dementia/alzheimer’s even, but despite knowing that Connor has this condition, Markus can’t help but fall for him.
Just to make things fit as snugly as possible, I’m going to say Markus has several patients in a memory care unit, and Connor is a permanent resident there. Markus does his rounds and allows Connor to introduce himself every time he visits, and he introduces himself, too. Their interactions are brief and to the point, so Connor doesn’t develop that same attachment to Markus as he has to Connor, but it’s just as well.
Markus knows better than to bark up that tree, because even if Connor fell for him too, he’d forget the very next morning. And even if it did happen, that same heartache might linger somehow. Markus doesn’t want to wish that on Connor, so he never once divulges his feelings.
But at the very least, Markus gets to see him regularly. He never misses a visit, even if Connor’s condition worsens.
