Nourishment is not always food. Sometimes it’s late nights, long chats, walks on the beaches, ice creams, singing, dancing, matching cups, colours and lounge wear. Chatting away until the late evenings and making sense out of cloud formations. Getting to the life and soul of it. https://www.instagram.com/p/CEzTiTWlyy_/?igshid=bxl22a5w9xco

“Let go. Don’t cling to the fruits of your actions. Live your life and be unattached to what happens. Do this and you find real freedom.” ♥️ What we have in the Gita is a collection of teachings that are given in conversation between the warrior Arjuna and his friend and charioteer, Krishna. They’re having this conversation in the middle of a war, in the calm before the storm of a battlefield. ♥️ “The Bhagavadgita, the Song of the Blessed One, is a defining moment in the history of yoga. It is a response tomoral chaos; a guide for the perplexed; and a prolonged meditation on the nature of God, the immortality of the Self, and the practical needs of everyday life. Its importance only continues to increase as centuries of interpreters try to wrest its meanings from its inspired poetic vision.” ♥️ (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6BNPqEHpl6/?igshid=un7xc3uerlo5

Life is difficult and it doesn’t come with an instruction manual. You gotta learn that stuff for real! The more you devote yourself to learning the easier it’s going to get. With great suffering comes great success. Only those whose mind and soul are in harmony, who are free from desire and resentment, who know their own soul can find peace. The feet of the yogi are like that of a flower, unable to hurt the grass of which it grows or boast of its beauty and magnificence. Behold the strivings of the Sun, the two never meet but the grace of his light is always upon the petals... (at Mandrem, Goa, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5m1rQ0Hk8Q/?igshid=1wgxofx8qtvw1

Lord Shiva teaches us that yoga is not a mere practice, idea, tool, or discipline but a way to reflect the divine reality of the universe that we can contact directly within our own consciousness. Yogic teachings are themselves outer formations of the inner deity who manifests through them. In higher yogic practices, we are preparing for the divine being to manifest itself through us only. Bliss is within you. No one gives it to you from the outside. It doesn’t come from the outside, it is your nature, it is you: it is hidden within your soul. You see its light and you begin to hear its sound, you start to become immersed in your own inner music, your inner rhythm of your own cosmic nature inside of you. You cannot see the light if your pain and suffering is blocking it, create space so bliss can emerge. If you repress the pain, it grows. If you express it, it diminishes. If you repress bliss it also diminishes, If you express bliss, it increases and fresh layers of it will begin to untold. It is like if you keep on drawing water from a well: new springs from fresh sources will keep refilling the well. The spring of bliss inside will do the same, so never become afraid to draw from the well. It will always reappear. Without sacrifice you cannot even take one step. In order to even take one step forward you have to leave the pieces of ground on which you are standing. Only then can we go forward. There is no progress in this world without leaving something behind. If your hands are full of mud then you will want diamonds, you have to wash away the mud and let it go. To grasp any desire your hands should be empty. You can see many people who have money but they are not rich. (at Mandrem, Goa, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5XElA_DMmt/?igshid=fw00coqhmfji

You too were a small child once. A small child is feeling hungry, he is not receiving milk so he cries because he is filled with tension and needs to let that tension out. He will cry and the tension will be released and he will feel lighter. But we teach children not to cry. We even teach adults not to cry. We try to find all sorts of ways to prevent this child from crying. We put toys in his hands so he forgets, we put something in his mouth so he becomes quiet and mistakes it for the mothers breast so he forgets. We rock him to and fro so his attention is diverted so he doesn’t cry. We try everything to prevent our children from crying. That tension which could have been released by crying builds up and isn’t released. We adults also try to forget. We try to numb the pain inside with intoxicants and material objects and desirable pleasures which only provide short term happiness. We cry on our yoga mats when we enter into deep states of higher consciousness, peace and awareness. We learn from our tensions and we realise old emotions which no longer serve us. Who knows how much tension, pain and tears a person is carrying and accumulating. If you have never wept heart-fully you also have never laughed totally. Because you have not let go of your tension something inside of you has become stuck. You have never been entirely passionate nor have you ever forgiven someone completely. You have become half hearted. Senseless. Emotionless. Heartless. Whatever is inside of you has to be unblocked. Thrown out. Released totally. Use your energy whole heartedly so that whatever pain inside you is expressed. Only then you become expressive. You should understand that your expressive energy is the core of creation. It is your creativity. It is your Shakti. (at Mandrem, Goa, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5XHhMgjTBz/?igshid=oaolacfhmatd

You could spend every waking hour of your life trying to meditate or do yoga but without contemplating the divine nature of the gods and gurus or even your own inner guru of the heart and mind your practice can never be complete. To meditate on the persona of a divine being is to cultivate and realise the divine nature within. 🔱 (at Gokarn, Karnataka, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5IsZBun2Va/?igshid=11ulcgio6dddg

Kali Ma. The divine Shakti, representing the creative and destructive aspects of nature, a transcendental symbol of human abilities. When you begin to follow your real livelihood with enthusiasm and if you have the eagerness to get to know the goddess, the god, or the supreme nature, then they will rise within you, and you will be able to know them. They are nothing different from you, my friends! Whatever gods and goddesses and divinities that you see around, all of them have been determined by you. When you get to properly know that truth you will think that, if your behaviour, conduct and ideals remain pure, then everything will remain pure. Every god, goddess, divinity, tantra and mantra will be within your hands. That entity will remain within your hands like a fruit in your palm, the one whom many devotees address at the great Mother. - Baba Aghoreshwar Bhagwan Ram Ji 🌺 (at Kashi, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4fEyBaDFoO/?igshid=114ynryt8w8w1

Studies from renowned universities around the world have shown how the amount of complaining effects our mental health. Wiring our brains with negativity is contributing to conflict with ourselves and our outer world. Associating ourselves with such behaviour inflicts anxiety, depression and even in some cases, schizophrenia and suicidal thoughts.
An increase in new positive studies have shown the benefits of mindfulness and meditation on the brain. Studies have now proven meditation as a useful practice to reverse the effects of mental illnesses. Meditating actually changes your brain function because of the increase of oxygen to the brain and with it, the way your body responds to stress. Meditation aids in anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorders too!
Studies have been suggesting for the past decade that meditation can bring big health benefits, but it wasn’t until recent years that research has looked into exactly how it can change the brain. Studies are even showing now the reverse effects of meditation with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Researchers found that the group who performed meditation and yoga at least two hours per week had less atrophy in parts of the brain and better brain connectivity than the control group. This finding gives hope that the practice of meditation and yoga can improve such conditions. Meditation protects our brain by increasing protective tissues.
There is a high correlation between perceived stress and Alzheimer’s. Meditation helps participants feel calmer, lessening perceived stress and the risk of Alzheimer’s.
Meditation reduces the stress hormone cortisol, which has been known to increase the risk of developing dementia. Our brain needs optimum oxygen to continue producing new brain cells. When we increase oxygen to the brain we can actually generate new brain cells and with it a healthier mental health system and new states of awareness.
