i was going to give them victorian outfits and everything but you see — i may be good at hands and faces but i suck suck suck at outfits and details in general. i know i know i have to work on it :( but i was so tired after coloring this, i just. i gave up.

tho… i did give them different outfits bc it’s always gold and blue and I AM TIRED.

as my sister said … all the render budget went to the tongue. 0 shame.

I saw your Spirk drawing request so I figured I'd send one. Spock investigating life in a tidal pool while Kirk watches happily

okay this one drove me insane. i’m not joking it’s 6AM i wake up in one hour. but i decided i was gonna put my kikissy in this one and so i did.

the background i made it with matte painting photobasing tbh. but hey i’m still proud because it looks coherent and pretty!! i’m still learning !!

don’t comment on my shadows they are all over the place i know me and mf don’t get along

anyway! enjoy some TOS spirk (yes kirk has hazel eyes yes spock has eyeshadow) <3 one where spock is obliviously checking some life forms in an alien beach and jim is literally just love eyes towards spock. hope that’s what you wanted !!

Watching the Kelvin Timeline movies again and thinking about how, after prime!Spock and Kirk’s meld, Jim has an immediate and all encompassing trust for this man (I know, how could he not, what’s more proof that you can trust someone than taking a tour around their mind) but ALSO, since then, to alternate!Spock’s constant surprise, Jim will always request and insist that Spock is right by his side.

In movie two, Jim requests “admiral, permission to reinstate Spock as my first officer” like he barely even has to think about it and Spock looks at him in stunned silence, probably thinking of every time- since marooning him on a (nearly) deserted planet, to the most recent filing a report that got his ship taken away- that he’s let Jim down, and yet he still wants to keep him by his side.

Prime!Spock told him there was emotional transference, I wonder if it included every ounce of grief, and by extension, love he felt at losing his own Kirk. Feelings probably called back and heightened by the loss of his own planet, two of the greatest tragedies in his life. I wonder if Kirk could also feel the mingled relief and sadness in Spock at seeing Jim again, young, and without a single hint of recognition.

I wonder if Kirk could feel any of prime!Spock’s “I wish I could have just spent more time with him,” and if it spurred every moment of him wishing for his own Spock to remain close by his side

I'm loving Strange New Worlds so much, but I really love how they show T'Pring.

In her one appearance on TOS, she was the bad guy -- Spock came home for Pon Farr and she made him fight Kirk to the death.

Now watch Strange New Worlds, I get it. She tells him from day 1, she expects their relationship to be important and him to show it. She all but begs (for a Vulcan) for him to give her time and attention. She breaks it off because he would confide in everyone but her.

She has critical and time dependent work too -- yet she makes the time. He chooses work every time.

He says in TOS he only has to return home to bang her every 7 years, and pretty much says that's all he does do. She clearly would never be ok with a guy who blows into town for a fuck every 7 years because his hormones are rioting.

Nor should she be! That's a ridiculous thing to ask, knowing her wish to be a priority.

There is only one way for her to get out of that marriage ANDavoid sex with someone she doesn't want at a time she doesn't want it. It's hardly her fault it's a duel to the death by Vulcan law and biology.

And who should she have chosen instead? She knew and met Chris but she just as clearly didn't know Kirk. So if she's going to have to risk a life, choose the stranger or the man she was obviously in love with and wanted to leave Spock for to make it easier for her extremely neglectful husband to force her to stay in a marriage and have sex with him after killing the man she fell in love with because he left her for 7 years, then shows back up demanding sex and it's pretty clear that "no" was not option on the table.

So yeah T'Pring was unfairly treated in TOS and it's cool to see her treated as a person with her own feelings and needs and how hard she tried before having no choice but to go to extremes to avoid another 7 years of forced marriage and marital rape.
