This is Sam Nordquist. He was a transgender man who was lured to my hometown back in September by his Internet girlfriend. She and four other individuals then proceeded to torture and kill him, leaving his body in a field. I'm absolutely gutted. The misunderstanding for the trans community that leads to this sort of hatred is something that I just will never understand. I'm so sorry, Sam. You deserved so much more than this.

If you are able, please donate and share the GoFundMe set up by his sister. She and Sam's mom have made it to New York, but now they will have to go through the horrible process of arranging his funeral and transporting his body back home.

Session 1 Nightreign playtest:

- I could only check the title screen and the hub, because the servers crashed immediately and were never restored in 3 hours

- I don't know if this is because we are trying a Network Test version, but at the moment it seems it's impossible to play this game offline

- I don't like the button combos. Feels like too many overlapping inputs that will make the gameplay messy. But maybe I'm just a noob, or maybe I'll get used to it once I get to actually play the game

- The hub is a "forest" version of Roundtable Hold and I love it. Lot of Godfrey's portraits are hanging around (there's also the classic Radagon one) but no Marika is to be seen. I hope there's a giant fresco of her behind one of the doors currently locked. Also, glintsone crystals spotted everywhere, in pure Carian fashion

- Duchess is Lady Maria and the Firekeeper at the same time. I'm simping very hard and I can't wait to lean more about her. Also, I like birdman and the Wylder a lot + I feel like Wylder is the type of character I main, but who knows. (Sorry Recluse, I just don't care about casters but I trust you'll grow on me).

there’s a difference between a transgender reading of a character and claiming that a character fits exactly into whatever trans label you’ve chosen for them. in the former, you are letting the text speak for itself, and are relating the experiences of that character to the experiences of trans people. In the latter, you are trying to fit the character into a box they probably weren’t made for. it’s especially ridiculous to bully people for “misgendering” a character because of your headcannon. (because that’s just what it is. a headcannon.)
