✩ Fruits Basket Episode 21 - “Sophist Boy Has Captured the Prince” ✩

One thing I’ve always loved about the English dub for Fruits Basket 2001 is that Funimation actually casted little kids to voice Hiro and Kisa. I don’t know if Funimation still does this sort of thing now, but I always thought that was nice and cool. Many anime I’ve watched I noticed they’d cast adults to voice kids and either they’d try to sound young or they’d even use their normal voice, which is a big thumbs down to me. Guess that can be considered one downside about English dubs in general. It’s not as... hmm well authentic and realistic I guess (don’t know what words to use lol). That’s just my opinion ^^ Aaron Dismuke and Kate Bristol sound so different, which is only natural that they do they were just kids after all.

On a side note, I absolutely love Kyo getting at Hiro on Tohru’s behalf. It’s straight-up adorable every time :) Angry protective Kyo is everything♡♡♡ Whenever I rewatch this episode, sometimes I forget that Hiro’s intro comes after the True Form Arc in the manga.

So next week is Ritsu’s episode huh? Well I’m not really looking forward to it tbh. Sorry but Ritsu isn’t one of my favorite characters. The only thing pretty much saving me from even considering to sort of skip this episode altogether is the whole scene with all of them in the kitchen. That’s the part I totally wanna see most of all. Hopefully it’ll be included, I’m pretty sure it will be :) Ohh I can’t wait to see how it’ll turn out in the remake I know it’ll be great cause the episodes so far definitely haven’t disappointed me yet >ᴗ<

I loved this short scene too because well ...of course Kyo’s in it AND it’s like the only time we see him in this episode (˶╹ᴗ╹˵)♡ Plus it was funny and super adorable. Also, I’m such a sucker for any and all KyoTohru moments both big and small hahaha (⸝⸝⸝^ヮ^⸝⸝⸝)

I loved this scene because well Kisa finally spoke yay :) And knowing it’s the same VA from the 2001 anime, even better! Imo, she did pretty well here - such sadness such emotion and effort put into her voice. I got all teary eyed watching this - it was so good｡ﾟ(T ᵕ T)ﾟ｡

Fruits Basket Episode 26 - “Let’s Go Home”

I gotta ramble about this cause it’s been on the back of my mind. Seeing that Hiro’s episode is being placed before the True Form episodes is really bugging me. I cannot believe ...I can’t believe that they’re doing exactly what the original anime team did. You know what it means to place this episode before the events of Kyo’s True Form??? It means that there’s a possibility they’re going to have to cut out the moment where Kyo asks Tohru if she’s alright, showing worry and concern that he might have left a scar on her. Because if they include that scene then it would probably seem out of place or out of nowhere and it wouldn’t make much sense. Viewers would wonder “A scar? What scar?” “Which episode did this happen?” “What’s Kyo talking about?” questions like that.

As an ultimate Kyoru shipper AND as a Furuba fan who is very much anticipating every single KyoTohru moment big and small being brought to life and animated in this new adaptation, I will be very very disappointed if this particular scene gets left out to dust. I swear, if they’re going to cut that part out of Hiro’s episode then at the very least stick it somewhere after the true form episodes.

I’m not very good at wording explanations or at any sort of analysis, so I’ll just cut to the chase here. The point is that I better see this adorable Kyo and Tohru moment on screen or else I’m gonna frickin FLIP. OUT. (ﾉ￣^￣)ﾉ彡┻┻
