What are your thoughts on the recent scandal with the Anderson teens? Do you think it will come crashing down? What are your thoughts on how sick the texts were??

I am utterly heartbroken for the girls who have endured only god knows what and likely made to feel the shame of it or told that they were to blame for tempting the boys. I sincerely hope they receive the help they will need in the coming months. I wish I could say I was shocked but honestly, it was only a matter of time. I am utterly disgusted and was only able to read a few of the screenshots before I had to stop but I imagine it was more of the same or worse. Like all cults, it will come crashing down eventually, I just hope it is before more innocent children and teens get hurt. YouTube already deleted every single one of his channels but his churches Facebook is still up so reporting it might be worth a go. I also sincerely hope that it does end up in the national news so that no one will ever want to associate with any of them again. I also worry for Anderson’s daughters, if their brothers are saying these violent things. It also very clearly explains why the wedding fell through. This is the problem with these insular cults, its too easy for evil and horrible things to be swept under the rug and for abuse to fester. I imagine in the coming weeks more and more people will come forward likely from multiple churches in his group. I would be shocked if this was an isolated event. I sincerely hope that Anderson himself is prosecuted to the fullest extent he can be. I hope they throw the book at him. It was his job as a parent and as a pastor to prevent this kind of thing and he failed not only those girls but his entire church and his daughters. I’m not entirely sure, as I couldn't stomach reading all of the screenshots, if their is proof of actual abuse taking place or if it was all just those horrible texts but I hope that if they are able to the boys get arrested and prosecuted too.

Israel speaks so clearly and he sounds so much older in Jill’s latest snaps of the boys going to the lake with Derick’s mom. I’m a teacher and I was really impressed. I know kids work at their own pace but it makes me feel like Jill really takes the time to teach him things. Or at least they don’t talk to him in a baby voice.

I only see what she posts on her IG stories sometimes, but I agree! Israel seems like a relatively mellow, smart little dude 😊

At least in my experience, a newlywed couple will be gifted the covenant eyes software/subscription. It's a fairly popular wedding gift in my old church. Their parents no longer keep tabs on it because it's not their subscription.

Fundie parents are very clear about the fact that once their child gets married they are now of their own authority or are under their husband’s authority. I know they’re hypocrites, but monitoring their adult children’s internet access who no longer live at home goes against their beliefs. Also a there’s not a chance Derick and Jeremy would be okay with that.

That's my thinking too. I think when they refer to monitoring the adult children in the video they're just talking about the one's still based at the compound.

Duggar Fashion

(Possibly?) unpopular opinion: I don’t think the Duggar’s clothes are that bad. 

To be clear, I do not mean the really old school stuff like this: 

The clothes in this picture are definitely cringey. The boys look like a cross between waiters and ventriloquist dummies; the girls’ dresses look like they were made by someone’s grandma back in 1993. No denying that their fashion in that era flat-out sucked. 

I am referring to stuff more like this: 

I’ve never gotten the hate for those kinds of clothes. I’m not saying that it’s stylish or perfect– it isn’t. Jill’s top is clearly a size too big, Joy’s skirt needs ironed, and both Jordyn and Josie look like they have jeans on under their dress. But those are all easy fixes. Their clothes here are not that bad– just unremarkable. 

I also don’t think this is too bad. It is just skirts and sweaters– I wear that to my office on a regular basis. Big deal. I think I’ve owned the same shirt as Jessa, actually. (Though I concede that Jill’s pullover/casual skirt combo is awkward. Pullovers look better with pants.) 

Here, it’s not so much the outfits; it’s the fact that they have causal outfits with overdone hair/makeup. Just an awkward mix. Jinger’s and Jill’s looks come close, but their hair needs toned down. 

Last one. Not awful, but Jinger should ditch the jacket and Jana’s top needs ironed. I’m not a fan of tops like what Jill is wearing, but without seeing the full outfit in context, I can’t really comment. 

Just throwing that out there. I don’t claim to be an expert in fashion, but I never really had a problem with clothes like this. Anything that is genuinely bad is an easy fix.

the baird family havent just blocked individual people it seems. they even blocked me even though i have never liked any of their posts or commented on them. i only got instagram recently so i havent seen any of their stories either. maybe they have blocked people based on ip adress? im from a liberal european country and people would dislike their culture, so they blocked all people from my country? idk

I know there are block bots for Twitter where you can block everyone following certain accounts. They must be using a similar feature, as well as a way to share block lists with each other, because when someone gets blocked it’s usually from multiple accounts at once. 

They claim they only block accounts that harass or like rude comments, but there are tons of people who can testify otherwise. I’m not sure what their real criteria is, but it must be extremely broad.

Thank you for your kind words. It had definitely been a rough few months to say the least. But I know that I would walk through the fires of hell if it meant my sisters didnt have to continue to go through the living nightmare they were in and that all of my siblings have gone through. I all but raised them and leaving them behind when I left the cult was the most agonizing thing I have ever done.

I've noticed that about counseling as well. It's an emotional marathon and it's very intense. I've been going on my own several times a week as well as group sessions with my sisters and it destroys me sometimes but in the most cathartic way usually. We like to joke that post therapy is for tacos, netflix, and couch surfing in our home now. 🤣

Since I've been pretty quiet around here lately and there are several anons asking for a life update, here goes.

Since I last gave a life update, which I honestly don't remember when that was so we will go with the last 6ish months:

I've started learning Spanish.

I started seeing a counselor to help process my upbringing and all of the trauma from it as well as the effects of leaving the cult. It seems to be helping.

I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and PTSD.

I went to my parents home for Christmas. That was a shit show.

I cut my hair from around my butt to above my shoulders. It was the first haircut I've had in a long long time.

I've gotten more comfortable wearing pants in public. Shorts are still awkward for me but I'm working on that. Tank tops are now a regular thing for me too.

I bought my first normal swimsuit. Haven't gotten to use it yet though. (Thanks Rona 🙄)

I was diagnosed with toxic mold poisoning. A result of living in military housing which is infamous for its mold issues.

We moved to a newer military housing neighborhood. Haven't had issues with mold since.

I've started looking at online colleges. Not sure if I will actually take that leap yet but I am considering it.

I've learned that wearing masks triggers massive panic attacks, as a result I haven't left my house in several weeks.

I'm still working with my tutor. I'm currently studying the American Revolution, Spanish, Government and Politics, Anatomy, Geometry (it's the devil🙃), and reading through a book called East of Eden. It's a lot but I'm enjoying it for the most part.

I'm able to read much quicker and my handwriting has improved exponentially, as has my vocabulary.

I'm not finding myself using text to speech as often and instead typing and writing on my own.

I filed a complaint against my parents with CPS for abuse and neglect of my sisters and there is a chance my husband and I may be getting full custody of my sisters. They are currently staying with us as the case moves forward. This is why I haven't been on much.

We joined a new church. One that my parents would definitely not approve of. Its nondenominational and I love it.

I've found a love of jigsaw puzzles.

Life has been rather chaotic but all in all, I wouldnt change a thing. I hope yall are doing well!

How old are your sisters? Glad you are doing so well!

They are in their preteen to teen years. I don't feel comfortable being much more specific than that so publically. I want to protect their privacy as much as I can, especially online.
