Traffic Light

Even 13 years later, everyone still wonders the same thing — What really was Traffic Light before they disappeared? “A band of 3 childhood friends” “1 of the most intriguing idol groups” “3 individual’s who’s status changed the music world forever” Believe it or not, the most hardcore fans or closest associates aren’t as close as they think to solving the mystery. Though being taken as official Chuohku hostages, it is still unclear exactly who these 3 masterminds behind Hypnosis Microphone Manipulation truly were before their surprising disappearance across Japan… So…Who really were they all those years ago? 1. Introduction Yurushi Dekinai is a professional dancer and senior of NSDS Studio. After hesitantly leaving Mai in an upperclassman’s hands, he’s avoided every sight of love since that day. However, it isn’t exactly that easy with his charismatic looks and popular reputation in his dancing career.

Yurushi is a young looking man above average height with a hourglass figure. He has light brown hair tucked into a low man bun, translucent blue eyes and a charming smile. He wears a standard white shirt under a navy blue pullover jacket. His lower body is covered with black cargo pants and blue tap shoes. For accessories, he wears a gold tassel earring on his left ear, faded scars on his lips, nose ridge and neck and slight bags under his eyes. Their optimistic laughter and smile only made their parents do the same, though even harder, as they trailed from behind them…] [Everything felt surprisingly light — As if a large weight was lifted from all of their shoulders.] Mai: This is fun~! —Laugh— Reiji: I see you’re enjoying it, Mai…! [Their father smiles, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. Meanwhile, their mother intertwined her hand and squeezed his tightly.] Akari: We raised one well, haven’t we love? Reiji: Yes, my dear…For the next generation. [The 2 of them squeezed their hands once more as Mai came to a stop up ahead. Turning around, they circled back and met up with their parents in a few short strides…] Mai: Can I ask you something…? Akari: Of course, Mai. What is it? [Noticing her child’s unease, she came up aside them and squeezed their shoulder, cupping her free hand around Mai’s face.] Mai: Does it matter if I’m good at something I really like? —Sigh— Akari: My child, of course…! You should be proud of your accomplishments, not worried because of what burden they put upon your back… [Reiji steps in beside her.] Reiji: Your mother is right. [Mai’s frown is replaced with a smile as they chuckle and embraced them, both of them returning it as they laughed together…] Mai: I want to continue dancing! Whether it’s weird or not, I don’t care!

Whether cuffed on prisoners or holding down civilians, their purpose lies in protecting others…Or eternally punishing them.] [In places like these? Shu felt both collided at the same time…] Shu: Who’s deciding to hang around tonight…? [The redhead pushed the door open, meeting the recognizable layout of the house on the other side. Scanning his eyes around, he noticed a few regulars and some newcomers present — Nothing was considered unusual.] [At the same time, a limber figure was overlooking a list of sexual assault cases. He was shaking, as if scared to look for a certain name on the list…] ???: I’m sorry…Mai-chan. [Upon hearing the name, Shu was next to the man in seconds. Despite wanting to question him, he knew it wouldn’t do any good to draw attention to both of them.] Shu: Excuse me, sir…? ???: Hm? [Turning around, removing his hood — It was as if time stopped. The man’s brown hair hung loosely in its ponytail, his eyes appearing watered with tears and he was surprisingly dressed in black. It was none other than Yurushi Dekinai, Mai’s former acquaintance and best friend…] Shu: Dekinai? That’s really you!? Yurushi: Kamora? I didn’t expect you to see me… [Shu cocked his head.] Yurushi: I apologize if my presence is a little alarming. Shu: Not at all, what brings you here? [Yurushi takes a deep breath, choosing not to meet Shu’s eyes as he spoke…] Yurushi: I can’t hold onto this world anymore without them…

—————————————————————————————————————— [H ERA — 3RD YEAR]—————————————————————————————————————— — NSDS, Fukuoka Division — [Despite being in a place that carved their new identity, Mai felt surprisingly comfortable inside the halls of the studio. This could only mean 2 things, was it that they were accepting their past? Or that they have one of their closest friends next to them…?] [It easily felt like both, which was a good thing in their case!] Shu: Mai-chan? Mai: Hm…? [They turned to meet their friends eyes, which casted a look of worry that reflected into their own…] Shu: Are you alright? Even after, you know… [Shu shifted on his feet as the question bubbled to the surface. Meanwhile, Mai put a hand on their chin, having pondered the question for quite a while since their debut…] [And to be honest? They weren’t exactly sure how to feel about it.] [However…Why did it seem like something more came from the accident? Every instance of the memory shown appeared more vivid than the last, as if they didn’t experience the whole story. New details empurpling their mind only made it more confusing, though it was true they had been sexually assaulted every time…] Mai: I don’t know… [At those words, a group of footsteps caught the duo’s attention. Sure enough, their respective teammates had showed up, unbeknownst to the both of them.] Eko: You guys should come and see this… Mai/Shu: Onii-san/Eko? Kairi: Something’s been stirring up in Fukuoka…We don’t know what, but it doesn’t sound good. Zaria: We came to get you so we could assess the situation… Yuno: I hate to break up our little debriefing, however we should deal with the situation at hand. Everyone: Let’s go!!

Writers Block

— Kamora Residence, Writing Room — The final rays of Christmas Eve having set, the butler was busier than ever wrapping up a few unreleased short stories. His eyes darting between the pages, all 6 tales had been worked to completion while he smiled with satisfaction. Putting a hand on his chin, all he could do was reminisce on the previous year. It felt impossible how OverDrive was able to gain so much traction in just a year, whether it was good or bad. Who knew what was going to happen in the year ahead…? Although…His past was something not to let go of. Especially for who caused it in the 1st place — Chuohku. His father wrongly arrested, the family name left in vain, false statements chiding the whole situation, beginning a writing career for himself and forced to work as another mindless experiment… Curiosity kills the cat after all, doesn’t it? What was it about his father did whoever it was not like so badly? Maybe he was jealous? Angry? Or just a plain fool with pulling off a ridiculous plan such as that? Then again, it was them who were fools to believe his descriptive and accurate story… “Am I just too self righteous for this world…?” The blond only mustered while rubbing his temples as the memories gave chase in his head. “Itsuki Kamora deserves to be locked away in hell…!” “The Prime Minister has requested your immediate attention, your teammates are also aware of the situation. If you’ll please follow me…” “I’m not sugarcoating my opinion unlike Prime Minister Totohen, don’t expect this to just be light…Especially for you 2 men.” “Come on…” “You are all ruthless Shaitan, territorial monsters who refuse to follow in the ways of the Lord!” “Ah, OverDrive. Thank you for your patience. It has been a long time since you’ve been with us here at Chuohku…” “Please…” “These stories of young and old…Do not forget them, for our family is engraved within.” “No!” He yelled, slamming his fist lightly on the desk. Breathing somewhat rapid, he counted on his free hand and looked over his last story one more time to control himself. For what seemed like a few minutes, he managed to calm down as he rested his head against his arms. A prickling sensation still remained, though it was much more dialled down now. If his future was going to spiral in jeopardy because of his past…Would he have to change more than he already has? His eyes rested on a small candle, shades of orange and red tinting off his gold ones… Instead, a golden glow flickered in between blinks as the candle appeared brighter than its normal flame…

Distorted Heart

— Yousei Residence, Escape Space — As the last moments of Christmas Eve began winding down, the dancer was occupied with finalizing their latest solo choreography recording. Sweating intensely, their body pulsed with energy while each move was performed along with the music. Laughing softly, their face triumphs into a prideful grin of their success. It had been hours since final preparations had begun, so they were very proud for finally finishing the job. This feeling of bliss, despite it’s euphoria, slowly started to fade as the song finally ended… All those years ago — Love turned into an endless nightmare. Their upperclassman showed them firsthand, his allies taking every chance to recreate his image, their fellow lady superiors dousing them with exhibitionism, even Chuohku’s effort to make them as one of their own puppets…Though most of all, their best friends ultimate betrayal. Was it his decision to take his side instead of theirs? It didn’t make sense. Both of them had been best friends since their respective dancing days — Counting as their only best friend outside of their teammates. He showed acts of kindness and trustworthiness and promised them to be the best partner in the future as they laughed at the joke… “Is love always this confusing? Why do they never look beyond someone’s face!?” The brunette spoke aloud, smoothing their hair as the memories bubbled to the surface. “They all wanted to meet you personally. Do not fret with our…entrance, it’s only to make you feel welcome.” “Mon Amour, I am delighted to share such a moment with you~! Surely you will not mind if we have a little quality time…No?” “These are the members of Traffic Light, who are now the official wielders of the 1st Hypnosis Microphones. They are to be treated with respect and dignity, for Chuohku will be enhanced by their achievements…” “Leave me alone…” “We’re here, Mai-chan~!” “Come on, don’t make me wait much longer~. Ah…That’s it my dearest! More…Give me more!” “Go away…!” “My child, of course…! You should be proud of your accomplishments, not worried because of what burden they put upon your back…” “You’re not here!!” They screamed, putting their hands in their face. As a small headache began to form, they clenched their fingers tighter, beginning to sob… Making a few peepholes in their face, a pool of tears clouded their vision as they fell onto their lap below. If little things such as love and betrayal were going to ruin their life…Would it not hurt to utilize those skills? Parting the peepholes, their red eyes glinted with sadness. Though, a vermilion flash of light enveloped them — Leaving a few candles wax to melt and incinerate…

Taking 5

— Seishin Residence, Eko’s Studio — The eternal hours of Christmas Eve ticking away, the idol was hard at work with the upcoming release of OverDrive and Terminuses collab team SONO. It would be better off to postpone till the new year, but he felt something different had to be done on his end. He was used to sleep deprivation anyway, so it wasn’t really a problem when something like this had to be attended to. It didn’t matter now, none of it mattered.
