Hello, Iam Sami, From Gaza, Palestine. Iam the eldest in the family. I have five brothers, i love them and my parents very much, i used to take care of them, i used to feel responsible about them, so that, iam writing to you, with great pain. And we decided,me and my mother , to start this campaign, it's the only hope for us to survive.

Iam 19 years old, iam a very premium student, i always used to be the first in the class.

I started the previous year with a great hope to have avery high average as i used to, it was a very divisive year to me, after which, i will enter university, it,s the general secondary school. I used to start studying grom 3a.m till mid night, this toil was because my dream became closer to achieve, i will travel abroad, i will study and work together, i will help my family, i will escape from this city, the city of wars. But unfortunately, i didn't catch up.

The war broke down in Oct, the 7th,2023. We were displaced, the next day of bte war, our home was bombed and destroyed completely. From that moment, everything in ouu life was destroyed as well.

The only thing that i took from our home is my books, they were the most valuable thing to me. But, in vain. I lost this year, i lost my life, i spent this year in horror, escaping from death here and there, with my family.

My daily life became, instead of studying, waking up early searching for water, searching for a very simple meal, searching for wood to enable us to cook. Even my little brothers help in this works, we are trying to defend ourselves from hunger and thirst. That's our daily life in the tough tent, under burning sun in summer, and cold, rain and storms in winter. Iam exhausted.

And now death became surrounding us from every were, we are trapped in a very narrow area, under rockets. We are under a genocide.

But still, there is a little light from a small window in this grave. it's the last attempt to survive.

Hesham's old tent was destroyed in a bombing and his family are currently without shelter. To get a new one without a mattress/bedding, he needs £3,467 in his campaign (includes extra fees).

A mattressless tent costs £1,000 and a mattressed one £2,500 (both without extra fees included). Hesham will decide if he wants to try for the latter after meeting his small, short-term goal.

Nov 14: The family's tent, poor-quality as it was, was destroyed in a bombing. No members were harmed, but they are now without shelter. The need for a new tent is even more urgent.

The base cost of a tent with no mattress is £1,000. After the gfm fees of 2.9% and £0.3 per an assumed 70 donations, as well as a 30% bank transfer fee, Hesham will need £1,550, which is £3,467 in his campaign.

This is a fragment from the missiles that are being launched onto the tents, where people are under attack by the latest weapons while still in their shelters. They are surrounded by hunger, fear, death, and suffering from both physical and psychological illnesses. No one in Gaza is safe amidst this destruction.

My family is living through an unbearable nightmare. Please, help me evacuate them from Gaza and ease their suffering. PSA - How to Export your Tumblr Blog

Remember a few months ago when it felt like every single website in existence updated their privacy policy? That was because of GDPR, the General Data Protection Regulation from the EU.

Another part of GDPR? Right of access / right to data portability. 

What this means is that if you ask for it, companies are to give you access to your data so that you could theoretically move it to another service. Many companies have done this by allowing you to export your data and download it. Even if a company doesn’t provide an automated way, you should still be able to contact them and they should provide your data - it doesn’t have to be automatically generated and downloadable.

Tumblr does provide an automated way to export your blog. This should be done individually for each sideblog as well, if you want. (These are instructions for the website - not the app.)

Go to your blog settings page, ie https://www.tumblr.com/settings/blog/<your-blog-name>.

Look for the Export section (currently at the bottom)

Click the “Export <your-blog-name>” button.

Depending on the size of your blog, it may take a while to generate the export. It will say that it’s processing, and you can reload the page and come back later to check if it’s done.

When your export is processed and ready, the Export section will have a button to download.

Once you’ve downloaded the file, extract it to a folder on your computer. It will contain:

A media folder with images, gifs, videos, and audio files.

A messages xml file. Your messages are in here, even if it doesn’t look “human readable” and is gibberish to you, I promise. There are tools that will “beautify” xml to make it more readable.

A posts.zip file. Extract this and you’ll see an html folder that has an html file for each of your posts.

Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.

First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.
