Not just a place to come together, but a home for the outsiders

I created this Discord server where everyone was allowed to join. Even if they weren't a Hufflepuff.

In the beginning I created it just to bring people together. But I nevere expected what type of an impact it would have on my life. Nor the impact it would have on others.

I asked in the common room what was the first word they thought of while keeping the common room in mind. The first responce I got was "Love, because it is a safe place for everyone. We are one big loving family". And I could not have said it any better.

To me the Hufflepuff Common Room became my home. All the people in it made me smile and happy after a long day. They made me realize how much a community can become a family.

Hufflepuff is seen as the outcasts, the losers of Hogwarts, the ones that don't fit in. But we showed that Hufflepuff means something else. It is a safe place where you get accepted no matter who you are, how old you are, your gender, where you're from. Hufflepuff is the home for the outsiders. A home for everyone that does not want to be put in a box and be told who they are. Hufflepuff isn't the lame house. They are the ones that are the most unique out of all of them. Hogwarts might be most proud of their Gryffondors. But if you ask me, if there wasn't Hufflepuff. Hogwarts would have never becomen a home to anyone. Cause without the love that the Hufflepuffs bring, there will never be a home.

The fucked up reality of long distance relationships

22-11-2020 That's my date. The day that I could finally call the guy I really liked my boyfriend. My perfect boyfriend all the way over in England. In the meantime, I'm stuck in the Netherlands.

I've been dating him not for nearly four months. And I learned a lot. Long distance isn't easy. But it also isn't the worst. I have never been able to be this honest to someone. Being there with someone in real life, I don't know. It makes it a lot easier. Even while on FaceTime I've been able to be more honest about what's on my mind.

He is my favorite everything. My favorite human. My favorite way to spend my time. My favorite way to do nothing with. My favorite plan for when COVID is over.

But there is one thing i truly hate about long distance relationships. When I had a long bad day, all I would want is to lay in the couch with him watching a bad Netflix show. Not having a care in the world what happened during the day. Not having a care in the world about how I'm going to end up in the future.

What I miss most is his touch, his presence, seeing him in a different way than just on FaceTime. All I want right now, is to be with him. To create memories with him. Experience the world with him. Experience scary things together. But also feel his touch, his arms around me while falling asleep on a chilly evening.

What is the worst thing about long distance relationships? The answer I would give you is the fact that you have to wait to finally truly experience each other.
