could be misremembering since its been over a year now and kf is dead now but lc got called out on kiwifarms by ppl saying that they won a mignyan auction bc they were favored by the then owner at the casinos, though whether or not this is true i cant recall (i dont remember seeing any screenshots of the auction ppl were saying lc won). in a now deleted bulletin they also said they left due to just not being interested in cs anymore and wanting to focus more on their personal art + commission work. its also why packimps are now semi open and no longer take actual money.
Does anyone know what happened with lysandrecafe? Their TH says 'this account is dead. spreading rumors and hyperbolic claims without evidence to defame people is dangerous and cruel.'
Not sure, anon, anyone have any info?

Ew account binding is so awful, now that im leaving it would royally fuck me over, i was a simp clown but im glad i never reached those levels, i always thought, if there is an emergency i will have to sell no matter the sentimental value so i never account bind anything.
Even with peer pressure of people saying well if you dont account bind it means you really dont love your pixels, shut up, i would preffer to sell these pixels and save idk my pet or even help with an emergency health issue or something.
Also a good thing mod, i left grems and now i can add them wings and shit lmao.
exactly that. people really think willing to go homeless instead of being able to sell pixels is a badge of honor instead of deeply rooted cs brainrot
A DRAWING WILL NEVER BE WORTH YOUR STANDARD OF LIVING
fuck me for having to say it in the first place but some of you fucking mistakes can't get it through your heads. no one and i fucking repeat no one in cs will be willing to bail you out of an emergency. not densy not saunt not kid not wellhidden not corrin not a single one will lift a goddamn finger if you were in trouble and will even put their stupid made-up rules over human life even if it meant you selling an account-bound browbird for life saving medical issues
they will not do it
they value their species exclusivity over your life and everyone else's they do not fucking care about you

As mod said its will never work unless you have self control but let's be real everyone in cs has some kind of problem or another. Either addiction, being an asshole, or has something missing which is why they get so attacked to virtual characters. It can be a fun hobby but that one offs or art not cs. Either keep trying to get through or unfortunalty sometimes you have to let people make their own mistake and dig deeper before they realize they are in a hole and need to get out.
some people may never come out of that hole

Ah, Mushy is gone, so I hope you don’t mind me reporting in with my German now and then, Mod Shit.
To recap, I record a five-minute tally every time I feel the urge to visit one of the places I used to buy from (Chams and CCCats are my greatest weakness); two tallies every time I actually visit; four tallies if I buy something.
That’s added up to a little more than 12935 minutes (about 216 hours) over the past three months. Of those hours, I’ve covered 6030 (a little less than 101 hours). For those wondering, YES, my German has improved tremendously.
The number of minutes themselves are slowly decreasing. They idled at 120 minutes per day for almost two months. Now they’re around 90 - 100 minutes most days with a few outliers being around 30 minutes.
This approach has been so wildly successful, it may be worth applying it elsewhere.

I am working on a document of resources for all the times I've seen "go to therapy" or "get help" on these drama blogs, but with some actual resources to do so! There are many barriers and safety concerns regarding therapy (forced institutionalization in the US is highly traumatic, for example) Here is the link, and if anyone wants to contribute, email therapyasathreat on gmail. docs(.)google(.) com / document/d/1JpqP-WnkiUtWnRMTzJTZIgtnnfqC-1TcZdhvesCXRiI/edit?usp(=)sharing
looks really good! I'll add this to the pinned post as well

Long Post: An Exercise for CS Impulse Buyers
I see this problem a lot in CS so thought I’d share something my therapist taught me that’s helped with impulse buying CS designs.
We're super amazing at self-justifying. Not only that, our brains are efficient at doing stupid things. You can come to a foolish decision and act on it within half a second. In a sense, you don’t have a chance to think before you think.
You have to nurture an “inner critic” that sort of stops you and questions your justifications critically. The key term is critically, not cruelly. Ex: “Hm, you say you like X, but you always seem to get rid of Xs, and at a huge loss. Why are we getting another X?” vs “X is so fucking stupid. This is stupid. What the fuck is wrong with you?”
You’ll tune yourself out if you’re too mean. So you have to be critical, but not unkind. Here’s what you do:
1. Find something you want to buy. If that’s too hard (ie: you end up buying the damn thing) find something you sort of want to buy, or even something that might be up for voucher one day but isn’t now.
2. Justify buying the design. Write down each justification. It doesn’t matter how dumb it sounds, just write it.
3. Now reread what you wrote and question yourself critically. Approach each item as if it was faulty or fallacious. You’ll end up in a back-and-forth with the over-heated part of your brain as it frantically pulls out all the self-justifying stops. Stay calm. Be critical, but kind.
4. This process can take anywhere from a few minutes to up to an hour or more if you’re agonizing. Be patient with yourself and don’t be afraid to find something easier. You get faster the more you practice. It’s also less stressful, but don’t be surprised if you’re doing well for a long time, then hit a setback.
Here’s an excerpt from something I talked myself down from recently. It’s cut down a lot. We’ll call the thing I wanted a “Horsedog”.
The justifying: Wow, a Horsedog! They have three rare traits–you never see a Horsedog with traits like this on sale. They have such soft, sad eyes. $400 and…
The criticizing: Three rare traits for $400? Isn’t that over $130 for each trait?
The justifying: Well, there’s two uncommon traits, too.
The criticizing: let’s say anything over common is special. We’re paying $80 per trait. Don’t we have a $1000 credit card bill coming up?
The justifying: Credit cards are meant to be paid off slowly.
The criticizing: That is not what they’re meant for. For people with our kind of spending problems, they should be treated as cash unless it’s a real emergency. Do we have the cash on hand for the card and the Horsedog?
The justifying: No, but…
In the end, I realized I wanted the Horsedog because it was part of the Horsedog CS and I thought I could fodder it. I could go on but this post is already super-long.
This exercise isn’t a panacea, but it’s been super helpful. It’ll creep into other areas of your life. For example, I binge-eat less now.
Also, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t still thinking about that Horsedog every now and then.

CS Spending: What Else You Can Get For Your Money
Long post about what else you can get for your money instead of a CS character. I actually have a few more posts like these planned, but I’ll wait a few days after this one so as not to flood the blog.
I’m not saying not to buy CS if you truly like it, but you should look out of the market on occasion and have some perspective. Examples follow.
A custom CCCat typically runs $750 to 1.5K, with notable outliers. In that range, you can buy a Roomba, a small drone, a mid-professional camera, a new phone, or a mid-range computer. If it’s luxury crafts you like, this range will also buy you a partial or complete fursuit, a ball-jointed doll, or a very small Gucci bag.
Most one-off artists in this range are willing to produce highly-rendered scenes, sometimes with two or more characters. Contrast this with the usually flat-colored pieces CS artists produce for sale.
The average rent in the US is about $1400 (obviously depends on where you live, so this can be way lower or higher), meaning this range can pay part or all of your rent. It is also roughly the cost of some mortgage payments. Dorm rooms at colleges typically run $900 - $1100 a month, so that range could pay for most or all of your dorm rent.
A Grem typically costs $250 - $800. At the top of this range, you could buy yourself or a loved one a piece of Tiffany jewelry. You could buy a PS5 or Switch, a low-range computer, or a budget-but-still-pretty-good phone.
A Scarfox can be as cheap as about $30, and as expensive as $500. At this range, you’re more “limited” (cough) in what you can buy, but closer to the higher end, you could take a hot air balloon ride or have a nice day of pampering at a spa. You could get the deluxe or collector’s edition of one or multiple video games, depending on your budget.
On the lower end, you can get a super cheap art tablet (even the super cheap ones are fairly nice these days–anyone remember when the cheap ones were pure garbage?) You could get some decent noise-cancelling headphones, or a Roku media player. You could also pay for most or all of a bus/transit ticket and go sight-seeing all over your town for the day.
Again, if you like CS and want to spend, that’s fine. Keep it in perspective. Ask yourself what your other goals are other than CS clout and mindfully, purposefully decide where your money is going to go. CS owners rely on you not thinking before you act. They rely on you getting so deep into CS, you don’t even think about other things. By being mindful, they can never have that control over you.

I made some of my closest friends in a closed species, we’re all still good friends now and actually all left the closed species we met in together, because we realised how trashy it was. We do our own things now, being story building and rping together or taking part in other cs’ and doing the same.
I regret. Every. Single. Cent. I spent on the closed species we met in, I’m glad it seems to be slowly dying out and I sure hope it does. But I don’t regret taking part in it, knowing that if I hadn’t I’d of never met my friends.
Yes, there are a LOT of people in cs who are huge assholes and don’t deserve anything nice ever, but there are a few genuinely amazing people if you search hard enough! Although… I definitely recommend finding someplace that isn’t cs to search for friends… I’ve been used multiple times by users in cs’ (especially the cs we all left), slandered, shittalked… it’s nasty. I’m glad that I got lucky and made friends with actually good people and not just more people who want to use me for free art and stuff.
TLDR: try find somewhere that isn’t cs to make friends, but don’t immediately assume every single person in cs is a huge asshole, ‘cause there are a few decent people about if you look hard enough
this this this nicely written

Hello! Hope a little self-promo is alright-- I wanted to make a positive CS-related blog for the anons to send positive thoughts/vents to. I'm not sure how active the other CS positivity blogs are, but I'm hoping to be a pretty active one as I don't have much going on nowadays!

Maybe a hot take, but I don't think minors should be exempt from harsh criticism in CS when they do something spectacularly stupid or are total asses. The sooner they learn there are consequences for being stupid, the better. Not giving them a shield means they won't have one to use as they move into adulthood. That said, minors should be given more chances to shape up (most of the time). They should be given a little more leeway for being rough around the edges. But being a total ass? No.
This, absolutely. There is a big difference though between making a mistake due to lack of experience and trying to right it, and being an intentional little pile of shit and trying to use your own age to protect yourself from consequences, only trying to 'apologize' after being caught, and being intentionally dim to the actual reason people are angry with them
It's manipulative and scummy, and if they shape up then fine. But it's not going to be done overnight and it sure as hell will not be tolerated here

/post/684831883708743680/to-the-people-who-left-cs-how-did-you-do-it-i-am
Using submit because longer post. This is just what helped me. I’m out of all species except Skire and I’m on my way out from there as well. This is kind of a broader response to the OP but I hope it can help others.
First thing: climb out of the Sunk Cost Fallacy. All the time and money you put into CS has been spent. You may be able to recover some money, but you’re unlikely to recover all of it. This fallacy may also have you chasing after losses by trying some whacky trades or participating in an auction even though you’re screaming at yourself to stop.
tl;dr: Sell what you can, keep, gift, or throw away what you can’t. Set a time to do this. Ex: 3 months. At this point, gift or throw the rest away. If you can’t bear to do that, store the characters somewhere else out of sight.
Second: determine if you’re a problem shopper. If you are, you’re likely to get sucked into CS again or into somewhere else. Make a plan ahead of time how you’re going to tackle this because shopping addiction is a lifelong bitch.
tl;dr: If you’ve got a shopping problem, figure out how you’re gonna deal NOW. It tends to be a lifelong thing.
Third: reframe your relationship with your pixels. In CS, it’s easy for pixels to turn into trading cards, or clout builders, etc. Refocus. Think of your characters as a type of person. Write, draw, whatever about them. You can even pretend to have a convo with them. It may sound crazy, but you’ll find different characters “tell you” different things as you get to know them. :)
tl;dr: think of pixels as a kind of friend/real person. Anthropomorphizing your pixels will help shift your mindset. Please don’t convince yourself they’re actually real, though, because that will mess you up, too.
Fourth: if you can, leave all art spaces for several months. Shut down Paypal or any other payment processing platform. If you can’t, then at least try to take four or five days away from places where you tend to spend.
tl;dr: get away from your problem sites/communities for several months, or at least several days (in case art happens to be your job or something). You need a rest. Just a warning–this part sucks so much ass. Don’t give in. This is an extinction burst, your brain trying to get that sweet, easy dopamine again.
Fifth: during your absence from art spaces, figure out what else you want to do with your time. Wanna draw more? Then make a commitment to do X-time per day and be minimally flexible with that. Or learn a language (one person on this blog is, afaik). Play more games. Something that gives you pleasure but isn’t self-destructive (so no cocaine or gambling for you!)
tl;dr: you need to replace the dopamine hit from CS with something else. The more it contributes to your life, the better. Pick two or three things. They should feel productive to you emotionally or physically. That’ll give you the most dopamine and a nice shot of serotonin as well. I recommend one of those activities be at least light exercise if you’re able-bodied enough.
