Welcome to our second Q&A session!
(first, we're here to say sorry for not updating our Q&As on schedule!)
Q: i love this comic! please continue it;;; [sent in by @ladybutcher]
A: We're glad you love this comic! It was our intent to create a comic that many could relate to and enjoy, no matter who they are, and we do intend on continuing!
Q: are you guys still going to post or is this comic done?
A: We do intend on continuing the comic! At the earliest, we plan on coming back in about a month, although it could be longer. As we said in our last post, we put our team members first so we are waiting on them to be ready to continue. We're sorry for being on hiatus longer than expected, though, and we hope you all can forgive us!
Q: So why is it called ftmtf? Just out of curiosit, cause it sounds like it's about detransitioning, but idk.
A: This comic is called FtMtF because it is telling the story of a FtM, and an MtF. We mashed the two terms together, creating FtMtF. It's not at all about detransitioning.
Q: thank you for marking out offensive words in your comics! it helps with preventing harming people while still getting the point of the comic across. (also i think y’all may already do this but if not then if [the q slur] is in it, can y’all cross it as well? i know it’s being reclaimed, but some of us find it degrading due to various experiences)
A: Already ahead of you! This is obviously a late response, but we do cross out any and all words that might be found offensive. Additionally, we cross out Hazel and Cameron's birth names, too.
Q: Hey there! I really enjoy the comic so far, and I was wondering if you plan to have a taglist? If so, I'd like to be on it. Thanks! [sent in by @flight-of-the-dragonfly]
A: We don't plan to have a taglist, as it would take up space, and blog notifications through the tumblr dashboard also exist! If you cannot get blog notifications, you can try having a friend message the update to you, or figure something else out! We'd just prefer all of our posts to be clean of a bunch of usernames, especially since we might forget some people.
Q: Hi I just wanted to say these comics are amazing and thank you for making them. They make me feel not so alone.
A: We're very, very glad you feel this way. Originally we had no idea how much this comic might mean to people, but we're very supportive of everyone who follows and hope that everyone gets something out of this comic.

Due to a few reasons, we will be taking a break from the comic for a while. We do not know exactly when we will be back, but we can assure you it will not be forever. We're putting our team members first, not the comic, so we hope you will understand. We hope to see you soon!

Welcome to our very first Q&A session!
Q: What are their favorite colors?
A: Hazel's favorite color is burgundy, and Cameron's favorite color is turquoise!
Q: Is this blog safe for nb people? I saw the truscum post...
A: Our team supports nb people, so of course don't discourage interaction! We want as many people as possible to enjoy the hard work we put into this comic! We don't side with either part of the debate, and we aim to keep this blog completely discourse free! After a brief discussion we have agreed to block anyone that tries to start discourse or harass people on any of our posts.
Q: What's your main blog, so that we can see more of your art?
A: We are a team of people, so there's no one art blog that will have the same style as this comic. We also would prefer to keep our privacy in this comic, but we appreciate that you'd like to see more our art!
Q: How long will the comic be?
A: As of right now, the comic has no determined number of pages. We may know in the future, so check back in at some point!
Q: What day of the week will you post?
A: We're aiming to post every Monday, but we're human and may forget or not finish on time!
Q: What will this comic be about?
A: Without spoiling anything, this comic is about two trans kids living their lives. Hazel is mtf, Cameron is ftm. Both have different lifestyles and communities, and they're learning about life and each other.
Q: Where is this comic set? / Where do Hazel and Cameron live?
A: This comic is set in two places: California and Virginia. Hazel lives in a small town in Virginia, and Cameron lives in LA. They talk to each other over the internet.
Q: For Cameron, do you have any siblings?
A: Cameron is an only child!
Q: What are their sexualities?
A: Cameron is gay, and Hazel is bi!
Q: Will there be any other trans characters? / I don't mind much either way, but is there going to be just mtf/ftm, or will there be nonbinary character(s)?
A: As of right now, we have no plans for other transgender characters. We will be thinking about what to do in the future in terms of characters, though, so there could be!
Q: How old are Hazel and Cameron?
A: Hazel is 16, and Cameron is 15!
Q: I’m so excited for this comic omg What can we expect out of ftmtf in the future?
A: Our next posts will be a bit of backstory on Hazel Davis and Cameron Brooks, along with a bit of their lives outside of school. We won't give away much more than that, though.
Q: A boy (Cameron) and a girl (Hazel)! they seem like they could become boyfriend and girlfriend...or maybe just best friends! [sent in by star-the-weeb]
A: Cameron is a gay man.
Q: How do you pronounce the name of the comic?
A: The comic name is FtMtF, or an mashed-up acronym of ftm and mtf. You can pronounce it however you would like, but spelling out the letters "F t M t F" would be correct!
Q: Can you give out content warnings before too? Like can you tell us what triggers will happen eventually? I personally wouldn't want to get invested in a comic, just to lose some parts of the plot midway through because of triggers
A: This blog will tag triggers in the following format: "[name of trigger] tw" if it is in the comic or "[name of trigger] mention" if it is simply mentioned in a post of ours. We don't want to give out, beforehand, the triggers, as that can easily spoil things. If you block the trigger tags that apply to your triggers, you should be fine! I hope this will work out for you!

what would ko-fi donations be used for?
Our ko-fi account will be a space where our team will receive money for the work on this comic, and as an incentive to keep it going. However, since this is a trans related blog, we will be hosting giveaways of transgender products every once in a while!
Our goal is every 2-3 months, but can do it sooner if we receive enough money. Our current ideas for giveaways are products to help trans men bind and products to help trans women tuck, although we are open to suggestions. Our goal is to receive about 50$ before each giveaway, as it gives us extra room for things such as shipping or other costs.
Basically, we will do giveaways as much as possible, and our team will split the excess money!

will there be anything triggering in this comic? most LGBT comics get kind of triggering, so could you please tag stuff like that? thanks!
In this comic, we will cover a lot of different subjects. However, everything will be tagged and everything will be presented in a respectful, educational-only way.
Things will be tagged as follows: [content warning] tw (For example, ’#abuse tw’)

I got really excited to see your comic, even as a non binary person (who originally ID'd as ftm) but once I saw that your blog is Truscum and transmed safe and also read the comments to that ask, I felt really uncomfortable and unsafe here, so I won't be following the comic. But I still wish you and the comic well! I hope the comic does well. Just by that one page it seems really good and I love the art style
Hello! I’m glad you’re excited about the comic, but also very disappointed in your decision. Our blog is safe to everyone, that being said, I know what you are talking about and I was rather disappointed in the reblog made to the post stating that. We really want this blog to be safe to everyone, so we’d appreciate it if you could help us in that regard. We’ll do our best to clean up around here, but we can’t promise anything. Even if you continue to believe that this blog is unsafe for you, we will be working to make sure that the blog is safe for everyone. Thanks for your concerns, though. I’m glad you brought it up.
(Hey! I just saw this ask, and I’m asking the other team members if we can block the person you’re referring to. I’ll get back to you on that, nonny.)
(Second update: it was approved! They shouldn't be able to reblog any of our posts anymore.)

Transmed safe?
Our team had a discussion about this earlier, actually. So far, we’ve decided that we don’t want to get involved in the tucute/transmed/truscum debate, so we don’t mind either way. We might compile a legitimate DNI for later, but truscum certainly aren’t on it—we want this to be a comic that the entire trans community can relate to. Only genuinely harmful people, like pedophiles, and blogs that trigger anyone on our team will be on this list.
(I just noticed the thing abt QnA, whoops. But, this was a tad bit important so I decided to answer it as soon as I saw it.)
