I am Nour, a Palestinian girl from Gaza. I am 5 years old. We were displaced from our home after the occupation bombed. We were displaced to southern Gaza. I, my father, my mother, and my grandmother, who also lives with us.

I saw the ravages of death on the way to the south, where I had to walk long distances on my feet .....

After arriving in southern Gaza, we saw all forms of suffering. After living in a tent for 8 months, we do not have any necessities for life. My sisters and I suffer from illness and weight loss due to malnutrition and lack of it. There is no source of livelihood for my father, who lost his job there in Gaza.

We need your help and support to provide a better life for me and my family🍉🍉

We are now homeless and fled to a place farther from the bombing. Every day we are exposed to bombing from warplanes that have not stopped, and we flee from place to place. Please help us with your donations so that we can leave when the crossing is opened for us.

thinking about the “childhood’s end” side quest in bl3 and how poetically it frames jack and angel’s relationship simply through the usage of the word “asshole”:

- the first time it’s said is when jack is cussing out the vending machine, and he doesn’t realize angel is in the room with him. she asks what it means, and he immediately apologizes to her, asking her not to repeat it before bending down and helping her back to her mother. it’s before they know fully that she’s a siren (or at least are waiting for the “doctors” to confirm it). also just a point that he refers to himself as daddy, which is obviously what she calls him.

- the second time you hear that word being used is after angel’s mother dies and jack chooses to lock her up. she begs him to let her out, calling him daddy still, and he refuses, prompting her to get upset and- just like she saw her father do when he was upset/frustrated- call him an asshole (to which jack reprimands her for language, the *same* phrase he uses in bl2, obviously showing how he’s already becoming handsome jack).

- and finally, it all culminates at the end of bl2, when you kill angel per her request and “set her free.” throughout TPS and bl2, she really only refers to him as “jack,” save for right at the end. her last dying words could have been anything, could have not even been to jack at all, but she chooses to call him dad one last time, and use the word that has become an integral part of her relationship with her father.

the word he accidentally taught her, their word, that she learned growing up to associate with all that pent up anger and frustration.

maybe she didn’t mean it the first time she called him that- she was young, she only knew it as an expression of anger the way kids mimic their parents, but this last time she does mean it. she’s old enough to know what it means, and at the same time knows that the best way to possibly hurt him, to even give him a sliver of payback for everything she went through, is to use her dying breath to use his own word against him. :’)
