Frustrated (Actor &) Casting Director
1K posts
Chasing nostalgia, (and living vicariously), through Mark Ruffalo, by archiving articles, pictures, and reviews that I find of interest, on Mr. Ruffalo, & his acting career. I also post photographs I take, and items on other actors for whom I have a lot of respect & fondness. @jamaicaknauer on Instagram. I also have a secondary blog on Philip Ettinger at: mypearchive.tumblr.com.

Very impressive and exciting to see Mark among those six! (However, this performance was an off-Broadway performance).

Thank you, Wallace Shawn, for some actual sanity. I totally agree.

Mark in complete joy, at the revealing of his name as Best Actor at the SAG Awards, for his 2020 performance in HBO’s “I Know This Much is True.”
A SAG win is basically equivalent to an Oscar win, as the Screen Actors Guild is the body of Academy members, who cast the votes for the acting categories at the Oscars.  Unfortunately, the fact that Mark’s work was in a limited series, kept it from being eligible for an Oscar nomination.  This is the next best thing, though. I was thrilled.  I felt like Mark was finally being taken seriously by the industry.  It felt like he had finally made his mark (no pun intended).

Congratulations to Mark for not only securing an Emmy win as Best Actor in a TV Film or Mini Series, for his roles as Thomas and Dominick Birdsey in “I Know This Much is True,” but for snagging two Best Actor nominations in one week, with recognition from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (Golden Globes), and another from the Screen Actors’ Guild.  Fingers crossed that he does as well with these nominations, as he did with the Emmy!
