A year later....

So, it's definitely been a while since I've been on here. Right when I was beginning to start posting more, but I met someone and I put my dreams of blogging on hold. That's 2014, right after graduation.

Fast forward to June 27, 2016. I remember the day so well because this is my brother's birthday and four days before my 25th birthday.

This was a special birthday for me only because it had been almost three years since I spent a birthday with my twin sister. And we planned a trip to Miami! So, I was super excited.

It was a Monday and I had been a manager at a well known retailer for 6 months and I was happy. Before my day even gets started I get the nastiest messages and calls from my fiancé. he was upset that my sister's friend was planning to meet with her cousin and his friend who was recently drafted in the NBA. Since, the plans were in a group chat and I had missed the conversation I didn't reply. And mind you he saw this on my iPad which was left at home while I worked.

I'm at work arguing back and forth with him, and he sends me pictures of underwear I bought with a credit and says he cut up all my swimsuits I had for the trip (which were old). That immediately breaks me down and I call my mom crying and I just say " I'm tired". At this point I told her I didn't want to go to Miami and I'm over it all. She talked me into going again, but she also said I needed to leave immediately and that she was catching a flight from Ohio to Mississippi to come get me.

Now, I didn't want her to come and get me because I deemed it unnecessary. I told her I'd just pack up and leave. So, I left work, put in my resignation and did just that I was packing up to leave, and I was waiting on my mom to let me know when her flight touched down so we could go back to ohio.

The vehicle I had at the time I packed it up along with my puppy's things. For some reason my mom's flight got delayed in Dallas.... TWICE! I ended up having to wait until the next day for her to leave. My mom was worried but I wasn't. I was just ready to finally get out of this relationship that I tried for so long to make it work.

he worked in the restaurant industry so he got off late per usual. I had took a nap prior, so when he came in I was up but pretended to be asleep on the couch. I heard him looking through the closet and drawers realizing my things were no longer in there. he was calm, and didn't say anything.

Fast forward to 5 am. He comes in the living to ask me to talk. So, we talked back in our room. Only reason we went to our room because his niece spent the night and his mother and brother lived with us also.

For whatever reason he walked out of the room and I just remember asking God to show me any sign to make me leave. he comes back in the room and now he's upset, because now he knows my mother is on the way to help me leave. he's heated so he tells me he's leaving the house to cool off so I should leave while he's gone. Cool. No problem.

I gather the last of my things including Blade ( my puppy). As soon as I make it outside to the car he pulls back up to the house. I'm in the car getting ready to pull off, he pulls a gun out. Told me if I don't get out he'll shoot. I get out the car. Gun pointed in my face and I'm just crying. He ended up choking me and I almost lost consciousness, but I got up. he punched me in my head a few times and I fell to the ground. I just remember tasting blood.

As quick as I fell I got back up and was able to make it back in the house. By this time his niece was up, because she slept in the living room. I ended up landing on the love seat which was closest to the front door. he came in right behind, giving my body blow after blow. Eventually, his mom and brother came out and "held" him back. Although, while being held back he managed to throw keys at my face scratching my eyeball making it hard for me to see.

I ended up leaving without a lot of things. My puppy was the hardest thing I had to leave behind because he was my baby after I lost my baby. But I left with my life which is worth more than I could ever make.

This wasn't his first time but previous to this situation I knew if I didn't leave it would get worse and this was worse. I asked for my sign and I received it.

I just say this. It's never too late to leave. Love should never put fear in your heart. And don't ask for signs if you're going to ignore them. Ignoring those signs will lead to an even bigger heart break.

I thank God and my mom for loving me unconditionally.

Soooo, it's been six months since I've graduated. That means Sallie Mae wants that money. Thanks to my sis @xoxoporshamarie for the plug!!! Lol but in all seriousness I owed $55,000 in student loans and now I only owe $695! Just let us know if you want more info!!! #ThisMadeMyDay 😊😊😊😊 (at debt free sooner than I thought)
