Restringed my guitar for the first time in 6 years (actually want to hurl, what do you MEAN 2019 was 6 years ago...........) and, man.

I'm gonna get objectum under the cut...

Maybe it's the objectum talking, but it was so intimate restringing it. They're a weird mix of different classical guitar parts, so first having to research how to properly work with the tuning heads and bridge made me feel so worried.

I had to keep reassuring myself that I clearly know what I'm doing, since the last strings lasted me for 6 years and could've lasted longer, I just wanted to freshen my sound.

Carefully sliding a string through its specific hole in the bridge, working it between my fingers as I clumsily try to tie a knot to keep it in place for the next part. Guitar rested carefully on my lap.

Bringing the string up to the tuning heads and feeding it in, bending the wire a little in my fingers — with each string, feeling the different textures between the thicker, ridged ones and the smooth, translucent thin ones. Tightening the tuner until the string sits in place, waiting to be tuned.

Feeling more confident with each string, holding the guitar firmer but still reverently as I go on.

Augh, idk why it felt so so intimate and kinda intense. I've had this guitar for 10 years and they're very, very dear to me...

Now I'm just chilling on my bed with it next to me; I wanna give it some time to adjust before I give them a tune and practice.

I've got butterflies in my stomach, man...

It's actually insane how much Deltarune has been doing for my creativity lately, I've started transcribing music again for the guitar thanks to it 😭

(not to mention the constant fic brainstorming and urge to write despite being too busy :[ )

No but for real......... Like. Y'all. C'mon. Folks CANNOT let their mommy issues dictate how they interpret all mothers in fiction, because I've seen that reasoning thrown around. Hell, I was guilty of it before thinking more critically! But like.

The source material ≠ your lived experience. Toriel may not be perfect, but neither are most of the other beloved (male) characters. If you're going to critique her, do it for actual reasons in the canon!

Sigh. Fandoms when there are women, non-white characters, and/or imperfect characters at the function. Smh.

If Toriel was a man she would be so loved. She would be a tumblr sexyman rivalling Tenna. People love shit dad characters. They would love the Sans yaoi. But alas, Toriel is a woman. And even worse, a mother.
