Boney - The Gnarliest Zombie
It was a day like any other, a young man was skating, as he often did, before accidentally rolling in front of a bus. Meanwhile, Lydia created the rift between Earth and The Spook, and The Spook overlapped at the scene of the bus-crash, creating the Horrible Accident stage. The young man was infused with the power of The Spook, lost his memories and his life, but was reborn as a zombie, who named himself Boney, because he thinks skeletons are cooler than zombies. Boney also has the ability to summon things, but only things that he died in contact with, namely his skateboard.
Boney was the second character created for Fright Club, and has a vastly different kit to Lydia. His moves tend to have a lot of momentum, hopping on his skateboard and zooming around the stage, and while he doesn’t have any projectiles, his neutral heavy-attack allows him to knock them back at opponents.

Lydia - The Sweet-tooth Savant
Lydia was a high-schooler in her final year, a bit quirky and hyperactive but not really someone who’d make you turn your head to look twice. Well that changed after Lydia decided to mess around with some “magic spells” she read about online. To everyone’s surprise, they worked, with Lydia tapping into the energy of The Spook. But this magic backfired, turning Lydia’s skin green and amplifying her quirky personality. Furthermore, this magical backfire created a rift between the normal world and The Spook, allowing its horrors to creep into our world! But Lydia hardly cares, with her newfound powers allowing her to summon whatever she wants at a moments notice (usually just candy), she doesn’t mind if monsters are running rampant.
Lydia was the first character created for Fright Club, and has a pretty unique kit, with multiple projectiles, large disjointed hitboxes, and a move based on the classic Shine from Super Smash Bros Melee. Hopefully you’ll find this little witch enjoyable to play.

Just created this little flame animation that I’m pretty proud of, thanks to the help of this great tutorial aamatniekss over on Deviantart! At the moment it looks like this’ll feature on the third stage, but who knows where else fire could come in handy!

Hey there guys and ghouls!
Welcome to the development blog of Fright Club, a quirky little indie platform-fighting game based around horror and halloween, but don’t worry, it’s not scary. The game so far has similar mechanics to games such as Super Smash Bros and Rivals of Aether, but has a fair few differences as well that will be explained later on this blog, so hang around!  It’s just me, FrightDev, working on this, just using good ol’ Gamemaker Studio 2, so if anyone would like to lend me a hand on anything like art or music, that would be great! So far there’s a fairly large amount of placeholder art, so if you see something that looks familiar, it’ll eventually be cut for something original.
