Been thinking about that "reread a childhood favorite" prompt on the book bingo, and while I haven't picked a book out for it yet, it has gotten me thinking about the books I liked as a kid, and there are two of them that I can only remember a handful of details from, and figured, why not put those details out there and see if anyone can help me remember the titles. I was, I think, in elementary school when I read these, maybe early middle school, so published before 2010. Not necessarily kidlit though, of course the type of person to grow up with a bookblr also took pride in reading Young Adult in elementary school.
Book 1 was about a girl from a family where they all had super powers, but she was a late bloomer and thought she didn't have any. She develops super strength, super hearing, x-ray vision, and I think super speed. I remember a scene, I think in the sequel, where her entire family is having a barbecue and sitting on a picnic table that she's holding over her head. Probably early 2000s, because I remember she had a palm pilot, and I think there was a joke about the two different meanings of PDA.
Book 2 is about a girl, I think her name started with an A, who discovers that she is a clone, I think intended as a super soldier or maybe a super spy, but her mother was a scientist on the project and took her home and raised her herself. The mom's lie for why she didn't have a birth certificate was that she was born on a plane so they couldn't mark a specific state, and I think she had a birthmark shaped like a crescent moon

I’m embracing the fact that a lot of my dragon books are red, although I’m sure I could make my own book rainbow out of all the colorful dragon books I own 🤔
Anyway, behold Red ❤️
