2054 I originally created this image as a banner for Comic Anthology 2054's facebook-gruop. I really like how it turned out, and it's the first time I try drawing directly at a black background. Kinda makes me wanna do a whole comic this way (as if I'll ever have time for that).

Harriet and Sigvard First character concept for a new Witch-Hunt comic I'm considering making for our new comic anthology project (following "7 October" and "03:51"). Even tough it would be fun to make another chapter featuring the same characters as before (I actually have half finished manuscript for a longer sequel, but it feels like a little too much work, for something I mainly consider as a side project), I'm pretty sure I'll be aiming for a new story and new characters to better fit the theme of the anthology. For some reason I choose to draw these characters in a very cartoonish style, and I think they turned out nice, though it probably won't be representative for the final comic, since it'll probably follow the style as Witch-Hunt and Witch-Hunt: Apocalypse.  Harriet is a young woman living a simple and quite ordinary life, until one day a magical talking platypus, named Sigvard, arrives from the future bearing the word that Harriet inherits the power of magic through a long bloodline of powerful witches. Set to be her tutor, the platypus bestows upon her the equipment worthy of a mage, including a wand, a hat and an ancient spellbook. This is, however, just the first step in Sigvards mission to ensure Harriet learns the arts of high magic and fulfills her destiny to one day become the true lord of all evil. But yeah, I haven't really decided what to make for the new anthology yet. I have a couple of more concepts in development, and some sketches might be coming up in the near future.

Cats on Mars - 2013 So, the internet still loves cats, right? I made this long ago, but lost the sketch and found it again just recently, and decided to finish it up because I kinda liked it. I know the title is kind of mis-representative, since they're not actually cats on mars, they're cats in space. "Cats on Mars" however, is a reference to a song by The Seatbelts from the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Also "cats in space" doesn't really have the same ring to it. Might put some color on it, but right now I just really like how it turned out in black and white.

First finished page for Iron Born (not the first chronologically). Thought I'd share it, if only to prove for people that I'm actually working on a comic. I've been talking on and off about this project for about a year, but until recently it's been little more than a bunch of concept-sketches. I'll have to pick up pace so that I can finish about two pages a week, this one took way to much time. Most time I spent trying to draw horses, understanding how to add speech balloons in Manga Studio, and editing details I forgot to add in the original page. Anyways, it feels really good to finally have time to work on this, though I get the feeling I'm really going to miss seeing sunlight this summer.

Adventure Souls! (Gwyn, Lord of Cinder) Some of you might not know that I'm a big fan of FromSoft's action role-playing video game Dark Souls. And since I'm also a really big fan of Adventure Time, I've long thought that It'd be fun to draw the major bosses from Dark Souls in the artistic style of said cartoon. While I might not end up doing all the major bosses, I think I'll least do my favorites, like Great Gray Wolf Sif, Gravelord Nito and Crossbreed Priscilla. Just for the fun of it. ;) PS: For everyone who've never played Dark Souls, I can strongly recommend it. It's become known for its high difficulty, but I think that if you just give it some hours, you're going to have possibly one of the best video game -experiences of your life.

Nidhögg - 2013 I made this poster as a teaser for my upcoming comic project, Iron Born (Järnbörd). This depicts a scene from the first chapter, where Brand (one of the main protagonists from the story) meets face to face with the dragon Nidhögg. When designing Nidhögg I wanted to avoid drawing her in a traditional high fantasy dragon fashion. Not because I don't love them scaly fire-breathers, but because it just didn't feel right for this story. The traditional dragon has become such a strong symbol for the high fantasy genre that including one in your story (it being a comic, game, film or novel) kind of leaves the viewer/reader expecting some high adventures of tolkienesque epicness; and it naturally didn't fit into the more subtle tale of Iron Born. I looked at descriptions of dragons from the norse mythology, where they're often described as poisonous and serpent-like, though never really depicted as purely reptilian. In some some variations, Nidhögg is even described as having 'feathers'. So I thought 'why not draw her as a mammal?' Then I did just that. Kinda made her look like Falcor on meth. But yeah. I like it.

A fanart I made for a friend who really loves Star Trek =) The "Kirk vs Gorn" scene, aka "Worst Fight-Scene Ever", is probably the most famously bad clip from the original Star Trek series. And it's amazing. If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's the clip for you here: link I secretly wish for J.J. Abrams to include this scene in "Into Darkness" (though he probably won't, since the Gorn seems to be absent from the trailers). But he probably will make more sequels, so maybe we shouldn't give up hope to see this scene gloriously recreated in HD and 3D and whatever.  Peace.

So I thought it's about time I start updating my tumblr. So first of all: I'll be visiting 'Stockholm's International Comics Festival' April 27-28. Me and Kapsejs will be sharing a table near the entrance (pretty much at the same spot we were sitting last year). I'll be selling some bookmarks, posters, a fanzine and of course our anthologies "7 Oktober" and "03:51"!
