Hi! What is the memorize au? ^^

Thank you for asking and hi!!

It’s based off of the Remember Me game which, to take from the Wiki page, “is set in the year 2084, in a futuristic version of Paris called Neo-Paris, where the Memorize corporation has invented a new brain implant called Sensen, which enables 99% of the population to upload and share their memories on the net, as well as remove unhappy or unpleasant memories.This establishes Memorize as a surveillance state, which leads a small group of rebels by the name of Errorists to attempt to bring down the corporation. The invention of the Sensen has also resulted in the creation of Leapers, memory-addicted humans who have absorbed so many memories that their Sensen has degraded and they have mutated into subhuman form, now living in the sewers of Neo-Paris.”

As usual, I have a few different variations of the AU where people take on different roles or the plot goes differently but my usual alignments with my roleplay buddy @fredditrumper are:

Freddie is an ex-Errorist who used to work alongside Anatoly, Florence, Marti (the Arbiter), Walter, and other Errorists associated with them. He was kidnapped and now is a Memorize agent who has lost all memory of his time working against Memorize

Anatoly is an Errorist with the ability to remix memories. He and Freddie clash again and again because Anatoly won’t give up on trying to save him and restore his memories and thus seeks him out and also because Freddie is tasked with exterminating him

Florence is an Errorist and… I never developed her too much in this because neither me nor my friend take on her role very often

Walter is a double agent! He works with Memorize and is tasked with destroying the Errorist cause from the inside. Because of that, he owns the Errorist headquarters in Neo-Paris, the Leaking Brain. He aids their cause but is it to not draw suspicion or because he’s on their side? It’s cliche and it’s one of my favorite points of the storyline. He’s also Marti’s boyfriend

Marti is an Errorist. His main development is that he’s Walter’s boyfriend but doesn’t know that he works for Memorize– or does he? I like cliches

Svetlana is a Memorize agent. I want to develop her story so that she ends up joining the side of the Errorists but I haven’t figured it out yet

Vigand and Molokov, for once, were not at the forefront of my AU and actually don’t have roles yet!

This is one of my AUs from over a year ago but I still really love it! I have other versions of it where Freddie is a Leaper, for instance, or where Memorize remixed Freddie’s memories so that he believes Anatoly stole Florence from him when in reality they were all dating but they’re not ones I roleplayed as much. I tried to keep this answer short for once but please ask me about it more if you’re interested! I have lots of headcanons!
