Movie Night (pt. 1)

Joost x Reader

Plot: Joost notices Reader is not doing very well, and does something sweet for them to help cheer them up!

A/N: I'm not anywhere near finished with this fic, but I have been very busy and really wanted to post at least some of it. Let me know if you all enjoy it and I will keep working on it more :)

Joost had been noticing things lately...

He noticed how your eyes looked glazed over more often than not. He noticed the lunch plans you keep canceling. He noticed how distant you'd become.

Having struggled with anorexia in his high school days, Joost knew the signs, and they were clear as day. He hated to see you struggling, unable to take it any longer he enacted his master plan. On his way back home from the recording studio he gave you a call.

"Hello baby! I just got done recording the new song. Yes yes, everything is well... How about I come over tonight, I miss you!"

Once he had the green light from you to come over, he hopped in his car and hit the gas. Joost made a pit stop at the grocery store picking up some of your favorite foods along with a couple safe foods. Before wrapping up he grabbed a funny looking DVD from the dollar bin by the check out.

"Perfect!" Joost thought. The two of you always loved laying on the couch together and laughing at bad movies. He would lay his head in your lap, feeling the hitch in your breath as you giggled. Your laugh was infectious, it was one of Joost's favorite sounds. He couldn't wait to get back to your place and hear that laugh again.

It was a quick drive to your place from the store, and before he knew it Joost was pulling into your driveway. He grabbed the grocery bag up from the passenger seat, heading towards the door. In anticipation for his arrival you had left the front door unlocked, so Joost was able to just walk on in.

"Helooo?"

His sweet toned voice rang through the house, instantly grabbing your attention. When he saw you his eyes lit up. Joost always seemed so happy to see you, and when you were around him you couldn't help but be happy yourself. You pulled each other into an embrace, the plastic grocery bag in Joost's hand crinkling between the two of you.

"Oh!" he remarked excitedly, "I picked some things up from the store on the way here. Something I think you'll like!"

Joost was a little bit worried to breach the topic of food just yet, so he decided to lead with the movie.

"I saw this in the dollar bin, and it looked too hilarious to not watch."

The thought of cuddling up with Joost and having a good laugh seemed like the most perfect thing in the world. You had been having a rough time lately, and could really use the break. You lean into Joost, still stood close to you even after releasing from the hug.

"That sounds perfect"
