i managed to complete the entirety of the prologue and chapter one after some time. i am not entirely sure of what the word count is, but it may be somewhere between 7k to 15k without coding and as it is — which is a rather rough draft of both chapters.
as of right now, i would need to revise a few sections within the chapters themselves, before sending them off to my beta readers, but besides that — as well as coding, i should be able to publish the demo soon. i’m really excited, and i appreciate you all for being very patient with me. 🖤

THE ADVISOR'S GAME ;
[DEMO]

You are an assassin, a professional, a contract killer. The pay is good, and your clientele are more than happy to keep your identity well under wraps. You take whatever work comes your way, and you don't ask questions.
Until.
An anonymous job offer. An envelope with cash, an image of your target with surprisingly crisp quality, and a non-descript note, left on the doorstep of your home.
'Kill the eldest royal for the other half of your pay.'
That's how you ended up here. Undercover in the royal palace. As the newly appointed royal advisor.
---
Are you a bloodthirsty killer, or do you kill out of pure necessity? Do you want to fish around for your mysterious employer, or do you want to live in blissful ignorance?
Make or break alliances, and maybe (reluctantly) fall for someone, as you navigate the intricacies of royal life, all while trying to figure out exactly why you were sent on such a risky job (and by who).
Do try not to get fired, and good luck. ★
"The Advisor's Game" is an 18+ (for mentions of death/violence, non-descript gore, etc.) mystery-romance, with 5 (subject to change) gender-selectable romance options, as well as cast of characters to befriend or antagonise.
[note; one RO will be gender-locked non-binary, however all ROs will be romanceable by any gender of MC]

NSFW TAG (to block, if wanted); a palace scandal
[more under the cut]
ROMANCE OPTIONS;
[AGES]
A. Bellefleur ; Aleron - Alize / the crown royal (your target) / m/f
The (supposedly) well-loved eldest child to the reigning monarchs, they appear in public regularly and often participate in council meetings— clearly someone takes issue with this...probably.
A. has lightly freckled ivory skin and grey-blue eyes, in similar fashion to their siblings. Their hair is a dark-ish auburn and messily cut to the top of their ears (fem A. has it similarly messy, however it falls to their chin in choppy waves)
[neutral to friends (to lovers) ; neutral to disliked ; neutral to respected] ★
K. Valiev ; Kostya - Katja / the head guard / m/f
An odd figure, unassuming, almost strangely approachable. They are quiet, and kind, and always smiling...so why do the older guards seem terrified of them?
K. is an olive skinned individual with a small scar running up over the right side of the jaw, and their eyes are dark brown. Their hair is a chestnut brown and is kept in tight curls, though they occasionally braid them (when they have time).
[friends to lovers ; neutral to friends (to lovers) ; friends/neutral to disliked] ★
A. Caras ; Altair - Arali / the royal physician / m/f
Their bedside manner leaves much to be desired, they are no nonsense to the point of being borderline rude, yet the whole palace sings their praise as though they are an angel (you don't see it, personally, but maybe you will eventually).
A. is an individual with vitiligo, leaving patches of their naturally sienna skin instead a pale ivory, as well as whitening some strands of their fringe. Their eyes are a bright green, and their honey blond curls are kept short (fem A. has longer curls, around chest length, that she keeps up in a ponytail for work).
[neutral to respected ; neutral to disliked ; neutral to friends (to lovers)] ★
T. Bellefleur ; Talbot - Tallis / the middle royal / m/f
The younger, but not youngest, sibling to the crown royal. They don't like you much (then again they don't like many people much), but you're not sure about that knowing glint in their eye when you interact— what do they see in you?
T. has heavily freckled beige skin and almost eerily pale blue eyes. Their hair is a fiery auburn and cut into a messy undercut (fem T. has shoulder length hair, covering an undercut at the back).
[enemies? to friends (to lovers) ; enemies? to respected] ★
M. Serrel ; Marin / your fellow assassin / nb
You had to do a double-take when you saw them, and so did they, it seemed someone wanted you two in the palace at the same time...but why?
Marin is a sienna skinned individual, with hazel eyes (on the greener side) and almost black-brown hair. Their hair just brushes their shoulders in length and falls in soft waves, though they quite often have it pulled into a half up bun/ponytail.
[rivals to friends (to lovers) ; friends (to lovers) ; friends to rivals ; friends to friends with benefits (to lovers)] ★
NOTE; for all romances MC must befriend the RO of their choice first, otherwise they won't consider anything beyond some light flirting. Additionally, in the case of A. Caras and T. Bellefleur, the romances will be slower burn (especially Caras).

i can’t help but think about the way that i’m writing certain characters’ mannerisms. from the differences in how they all individually talk, to how they appear in terms of posture and body language to the mc.
i think that, come the release of both the prologue and chapter one, you all may notice who my favorite character to write is amongst the few that make an appearance. i’m excited to see how you all think of them. 🖤
i will admit that i’ve lacked the motivation to sit and write continuously for entire days, but i may be able to push through with the right amount of cups of chai in my possession.

Hello! The intro to your IF is sooo intriguing!
Just wanted to know if you're ok with doing asks? By that, I mean the tradition RO react kind of asks. How about NSFW?
Absolutely alright if not, I just wanted to ask before I accidently send a react ask in lol
thank you so much!! i’m glad to hear that. 🥰
i’m completely fine with any reaction asks, and i am also fine with nsfw.
and that’s completely understandable lol, i appreciate you asking beforehand. thank you for the ask! 🖤

i’ve completed pretty much everything that i needed to do in terms of changing some things on the blog, so i’ll be refocusing back on the game.
i have a lot more writing that i need to do, but it’s mostly due to general and customization choices. chapter one is completely swarmed with customization. 😅
either way, i’m making some pretty decent progress, so hopefully, i’ll be able to finalize everything soon — even with how much work it’ll most likely take with configuring the code.

hi, you all! it’s been a while.
i promise that i don’t have any bad news, if anything, i have some pretty good news! i’ve been keeping busy, and i’ve had my hands full with this project during my absence from this blog.
from rewriting to working on different aspects of the coding, it’s been a bit of a hassle, but i’m not as stressed as i previously was. i write using google docs now in order to prevent any issues in the future. although, unfortunately, i wasn’t able to recover all of the code, so i would need to start that all from scratch. i also plan to rearrange the entirety of this blog, so expect changes here soon.
on another note, in the remnants of my free-time, i also decided to create a d&d campaign off of foxglove and it’s been fun working on them both simultaneously (while keeping my main priority on this project)!
regardless, everything has been going well and, hopefully, i can get the demo out to you all very soon. it will be somewhat short, but i will remedy that with the next chapter as the demo upon release will consist of the prologue and chapter one.
either way, i hope you all have a very great day, and i hope you all take care of yourselves! 🖤

now that i’m thinking more on it, i’m starting to believe that i may need to change a lot of things about this page after the release of the prologue, whenever that may be.
the name will remain the same, however everything else won’t reflect its lack of change.
i’m still a bit uncertain when it comes to the premise of this novel, in terms of how it sounds and comes off, but i can’t think of a way to improve it. so, for now, it’ll remain as it is until i manage to complete the prologue.
on another note, i will say that i have mentioned it briefly before (at least if i remember correctly) about my interest of having a co-writer. whether it be for writing itself and or coding, i’ll honestly need all the help that i can get, especially considering what had recently occurred with my progress being deleted. although, i don’t know how to go about finding someone who’d be willing to help me with this little project of mine.
regardless, for the time being, i’ll continue working and re-establishing it as soon as i can. hopefully, i can do it within a time constraint, but i’ll have to wait and see.
anyway, i desperately need to go to bed, what with it being 4:15 in the morning, so i hope you all have a good evening and morning. 🖤

hi, it's been a little bit since i last posted - i'm sorry for the silence and the lack of an update. i've been working as much as i can without burning myself out and trying my best to get this out for you all.
however, i do have a bit of some bad news in regards to this project. it ended up being deleted off of twine a few nights ago, and i ended up losing all of the progress that i had made. i don't have any sort of backup that i can copy and paste onto a new draft, so i am now back to ground zero.
i've been trying to recall everything that i have written down and reapplying them, however it's been a struggle trying to put the scraps together while also reapplying the code that i had at the top of my head.
because of this setback, i have zero clue as to when i will be able to get the prologue out to you all. i'm sorry to make you all wait more, but unfortunately, i don't know how to regain all that progress and continue working as i have done before. i would like to still try to release the prologue at the end of this month, however, i don't think it will be possible considering how long it had taken me to set up the game itself.
i hope you can all forgive me and allow me some grace.
i hope that you all have a great day or evening, and please be patient with me for a bit longer while i try to regain my progress.

hi, it’s been a little bit since i had last posted on here, and i would like to keep you all updated as much as i can - regardless of if it’s nonsense or actual content.
on that note, i am feeling a lot better! this may or may not change since my area has a high possibility of seeing some freezing cold weather in the upcoming days, but hopefully it doesn’t.
either way, this means that i’ll be returning to working on the game! i’m really behind, so i’m crossing my fingers that i can work without any issues. (if i become sick again, i’ll update you all as soon as i know for sure i am, but that means i will also not be happy because that means more bed rest and no more working.)
the game itself is about 40 % done, but that is due to coding errors that are taking me a lot more time to sit and fix. the prologue also has a lot of variables, so that is another reason as to why.
regardless, here’s to hoping i can finish this up before the end of this month. if not, it will probably be completed sometime between the middle or end of february, and that’s also not including the time of when my beta readers will get back to me.
anyway, i love you all for being patient with me. i know that i am taking a lot more time on this than most, but i promise that i’m trying to quicken my pace while i write.
i wish you all a great evening (and morning), and rest well. good night! 🖤

i woke up today with the nastiest cold ever and i barely have the energy to get myself out of bed. so, for the time being, i won’t be working on the game for a bit until i get better. i can answer any questions and reblog a few quotes here and there for the time being until then. (^^)
i also wanted to thank you all for 200 followers, i appreciate you guys - more than i can express with how sick i feel right now, lol. i’m grateful for this chance that you all have given me.
regardless, i hope you all have a wonderful day! i’ll update you all when i return to working and when i get better hopefully soon. 🖤

Do you have any description of ROs (precisely physical appearance)?
i do have all of the descriptions of the ro’s! i haven’t implemented them yet because i’m still fleshing out their personality before i deep-dive into their appearance. i’ve misplaced my notes, but i can give a brief description from what i remember below the read more:
antares: a man with umber skin, blonde locs that reach the back of his neck, and warm, brown eyes. he is about 6’ and has a plethora of tattoos that is scattered around his body, but is predominantly around his arms and legs. antares is plump with muscle and has an average body type.
echo: a person with white, chin-length hair, accompanied by their white lashes and eyebrows. their eyes are a faded red. echo is 5’7 and has black-framed glasses. they are chubby and have a soft, round face.
lilith: a lean, tan woman with predominantly black hair that reaches her lower back and strands framing her face that are of a faded blonde. her eyes are dark brown, bordering on black. she is 5”9 and has tattoos lining her arms and chest as well as a handful of face piercings.
fable: a person with copper skin and mid-length, wavy, black hair. they have gray eyes and the only piercings that they have is there earlobes and a stacked septum. they are 5”4 and is fit with muscle.
???: a woman adorned in a floor-length, transparent, black veil that enshrouds her entire face. she is also dressed in what appears to be a form-fitting dress. you do not know anything else, besides the fact that she is always in a body of water.
thank you for the ask!

I'm praying you don't give up on this project...
i won’t any time soon. i genuinely love this project, and i don’t want to give it up when it’s just beginning.
i’m still learning how to code, so it’s taking me a lot more time to flesh out the entirety of the prologue and a bit of chapter one. i’ve been trying to get it out as soon as possible, but i don’t want to give you all a rushed first impression of what this project has to offer. hence why i haven’t been as active on here and putting out more posts like i said i would (whether i told that to you guys or not, i’m not sure).
also, my fiancé is getting onto me for stressing myself out about rushing lol, so i’m trying my best to take my time.
regardless, thank you for sending this in, it’s made my evening! 🖤

game development update.
hi everyone! i’m sorry for the lack of posts - i have been working and it definitely has gotten a lot busier what with it being the holiday season. on that note, merry belated x-mas to you all!
in terms of working on foxglove, i am looking into possibly asking around for beta readers, and maybe even a co-writer, but that is something that i won’t really venture into at least on this post.
i’ve also been working on coding and writing in my pastime, but i am currently in the process of changing up my writing style. i have been struggling to write the way that i do now, due to the fact that i don’t think it reads well and i want to be able to write without stressing myself out. additionally, i want to make sure that you all love it, so i’m pushing myself to put out something better.
with that being said, expect some changes to the intro (again), as well as some changes to the characters! i know that i’m changing a lot, but i am an indecisive person, lol.
there won’t be any drastic changes, as most of these changes are to flesh the characters out more, but there is a possibility that i may be adding some new details.
either way, i hope that you all have had a great month so far! i will try my best to push more posts out about foxglove as soon as i can finish them, but other than that i’ll keep you all updated.
thank you for being patient with me as i continue to work on this little project of mine. 🖤

thank you so much for all the follows, hearts, and reblogs! i appreciate them so so much, and i am glad that you all are interested in what foxglove has to offer so far.
i love you all, thank you again for all the love and interest. hopefully, here soon, i will be able to post more facts about the world of xinthero and its characters, explaining it all in more detail. for now, i’ll keep working on writing the prologue until i can hopefully finish it up soon.
regardless, if any of you have any possible questions, then i am willing to answer all of them. i hope you all have a great day or evening, thank you all again for who knows how many times. 🖤

The Heart of the Heir
DEMO // CHARACTER INTROS // BLOG INFO
status: currently writing & coding

To the Members of the Ton,
It is so nice to be able to come to you for another social season. I can already hear the air buzzing with anticipation on the new couples and the everlasting ties that they will bring to our strong community. People are already parading around like gallivant horses to impress the masses as well as the royal family. It is truly a sight to behold. However this year, my fellow Ton, the tides have changed. This year, instead of the members of high society fighting out in the field for love and marriage opportunities, the King and Queen are announcing their child, the new heir to the throne, to be the one whose hand is up for marriage.
This comes as a bittersweet surprise. After the recent and devastating passing of the King and Queen's first child, the high society’s dazzling Emerald, it would have seemed that the line to the Crown was at stake. To lose a precious jewel is a true defeat. But with every wondrous heir, there will be a spare to fill in the shoes of our perfect Crowned Royal. Our Emerald’s younger sibling will finally have a place to shine in the Sun.
This is a change that no one expected. The Royal Family doesn’t deal with the social season to this caliber. Instead of watching from the sidelines, they will be front and center. It will be interesting to watch and see if our new heir is the right pick for the Crown and the high society that we have all built. Will this new heir be our diamond in the rough or will this be an example of a stone with none of the shimmer and shine that is needed to sit in the throne?
Throughout the season, there will be thoughts and gossip to gather, and I will be your humble servant in the collection and distribution of any and all information I can get. My darling members of the Ton, everything I know, you will know. That’s a promise. Enjoy this season, and to the heir, remember to shine like the gemstones of the past, or you will sink like a pebble in the Thames.
Until we meet again,
The Royal Record Holder

Inspired by Bridgerton and The Pride and Prejudice, the interactive story The Heart of the Heir, is a historical romance that takes place in the Regency Era. You, a young royal and the second and younger child of the King and Queen, unexpectedly become the next in line for the throne when your older sibling passes away. Without the knowledge your elder sibling has gotten, you are trusted into the world of high society and must navigate through the social season. Besides the expectations of being a future ruler, you are expected to find a suitor by the end of the season to lead by your side. You, the heir, must balance the future responsibilities of your nation while staying true to your heart. Will you be what the kingdom expects of you or will you lead by example and break away from tradition that was planned for you?

The Heart of the Heir is an +18 interactive fiction that includes topics of death and grief, race and sexuality, substance use (drugs and alcohol), topics of mental health, and skippable sexually explicit scenes. This is a romance book, romance will be the focal point. If that isn’t your cup of tea, you have been warned!
A customizable main character including gender, pronouns, sexuality, physical appearance, a skill fit for a royal, your sibling’s gender, family dynamics, and basic morals for your character to start on.
Decide on what type of ruler you want to be: do you lead with compassion and the knowledge that your kingdom comes first? Do you march to the beat of your own drum? Do you wish that you didn’t want the responsibility of the crown?
Navigate the tight community that comes with the Ton. Don’t lose yourself in the hushed secrets that hide behind cups of tea, the art of conversing via fan, and the walk around the lake.
Get courted by one of the four romance options: your royal match, your childhood best friend, the mysterious newcomer, or the lover who lost it all?

Romance Options:
The Royal (Duke/Duchess Edward/Edwina Drake of Exeter): In the eyes of your parents and the Ton, they are the picture perfect suitor for your hand. E was born and bred to be a royal, your partner. Extremely smart, poise, dedicated to their country, E fits the bill and still has amazing qualities. They’re perfect through the rose tinted glasses. But just like you, they have baggage. The expectations to be the best and to prove themselves worthy of their title and their name. The phrase heavy is the head that wears the crown rings true for both of you. The level of perfection that weighs on both of you, could break and destroy the hardest of stones, and to leave them in a disarray. But if you both were there to burden the stress and build each other up, it wouldn’t be all that bad. If you two crumble, at least it will be together.
Trope: Marriage by Convenience.
The Widow (Victor/Violet Clarke): The one that lost a love too. Planned to marry your older sibling, you’ve always seen V as someone respectable and honest. You’ve watched how their and your sibling’s love has blossomed and how their mutual love and understanding for each other stood rival to only your parents. So when someone you both loved died, pieces of your sibling, and their love, died with them. No one can understand the loss like you do. To lose your best friend, your sibling, or your better half, your lover is a level of pain no one should endure. Navigating the hardships of death and grief can be a lonely time, but thankfully you have each other. A budding companionship is on the horizon, or is there a tie of romance that bounds these two mourning souls?
Trope: Second Chance at Love.
The Knight (Helena/Henry Barnes): From birth, it always seemed like you and H were destined to be with each other in some way. H’s father served under yours, and now H serves under you as your right hand, protector and best friend. They’re the most active person in your life, besides your parents. H has always been supportive and protective of you, both as a requirement to the Crown and because no one knows them the way you know them. H knows your next move, your witty comments, and all the minute details even your parents couldn’t pick up. When you look at them, you see yourself in someone like you: dedicated to the role they were given. When they look at you, there’s a great level of fondness, respect and admiration. But is that all, or is there something deeper behind the gazes they give you?
Trope: Childhood Friends to Lovers.
The Outsider (Sayyid/Safiya Bashar): A sponsorship. Since the Viscount and Viscountess Beaumont have no heirs to their name, they decided to send word to an old friend to sponsor for the season. As the new arrival to the Ton, S made a name for themselves as the new and allusive candidate for your hand in marriage. The only issue is, you don’t like S. They don’t follow the customs you’re used to, and have no need to fit in. Their forward thinking and bold personality clashes with you, and you’d be damned to have someone mess up your new reputation. S always itches at your patience, and seems to get a rise out of you. It’s infuriating, annoying. They’re like a gnat. Then why do they challenge you to the point where they swarm your mind? Is the level of combativeness something you seek? Is this what you want?
Trope: One-sided Enemies/Rivals to Lovers.
