For a moment she glanced up to him. He really did not know? Not only that, but it was very hard to find any bitterness in his tone. It all felt so off to her. This is not how she expected their first actual conversation to go since The Great Thaw. No. This had to be another one of his tricks. He was trying to trick her again. That has to be reason to this. That or maybe he hit his head hard.

“She’s not dead.” Anna felt like that needed some clarification. That’s how many’s minds went when hearing the news of her coronation. It was not until a very long story about how Elsa is the fifth element that they finally understood why she could not rule Arendelle. “She…” Anna was not in the mood of explaining all that had happen in Northuldra to him “abdicated from the throne.”

Anna hesitantly drew her hands back before he assisted in pushing them away. Looking at how he reacted, it surely was no small injury. Before she could offer him anymore help, the blade of his dagger quickly caught her attention. As if it were an instinct, she quickly stood up and took a large step backwards. Then with relief she saw that he had no plans on using the weapon on her. “Wow…you’re really injured.” She realized out loud.

Biting down onto her lip as she began on to debate if it were safe to leave him alone. Clearly, he could not go far with an injury as bad as he was projecting it to be. Still, trusting him was both unfamiliar and unsettling. For all she knows, she could return and he could have ridden off on her horse! Or sneak away with a group of misfits who just to happen to be passing by! 

“Do you think you can manage climbing onto a horse?”

{~♚  He is positive that Anna would not know, nor was he going to tell her that he was entirely cut off from his kingdom, along with being brand as a traitor so everywhere he went he was scorned. This caused him to stay away from villages all together save for getting the bare minimum to survive. 

Becoming essentially nomadic. 

Tales of his folly reached far, thus efficiently making him an outcast so news of Elsa abdicating the throne and Anna being anointed as the Queen of Arendelle is news to him. Though the why is still a mystery and he is not going to pry for answers from her. 

There are certainly more important matters that demand his attention. 

      “It is good news that your     sister is still in good health.” 

Pain flairs up his shin and he bits back a pained groan, his hands faltering for a brief moment in tying the bandage around his leg. Trying to temper his breathing so he doesn’t loose whatever the last thing he ate was. Furrowing his brow, the former prince forces himself to tighten the bandage then, with subtly trembling hands, pull the top of his boot back up. It is uncomfortable, but it would secure the bone. 

Taking in a few more breaths, Hans looks over at Anna. Seeing the concerned look on her features, and how her brows are furrowed in worry with it reflecting in her gaze. He is not sure if Anna is capable ignoring anyone in pain. 

Him included. 

Looking away, he attempts to stand, but pain shot up his leg and caused him to collapse against the railing again. Cursing lightly, he tugs his fingers in his hair before trying to put on a smile in order to assuage any of Anna’s concern. 

      “I will manage your majesty...but your     concern is appreciated.”      ♚~}

She’s furious she needs to ask for help, but this isn’t like other wounds. She can’t just walk over to the medic with a twisted ankle. She could slowly hobble over but in all honesty that seemed more embarrassing than just being carried. She folds her arms over her chest with an angry huff, “ if i must… “ 

{~♚  Seeing the disgruntled expression on her features he can tell she’s none to pleased about the arrangement. A subtle amused smile pulls the corners of his lips up before he carefully kneels down to scoop the girl into his arms. 

      “I know this is not what you would     prefer, however, it is the quickest way     to ensure you get that ankle looked at     without injuring yourself further.”

  Emerald iris’ shift around to verify that there is hardly anyone around before he side steps into a hallway that has no one in it.

      “I will do my best to make sure no     one sees me carrying you.”

  Knowing she has a knack for seeking the most independent route, unsure as to why it is a big deal to accept help, but he is not going to force her to be seen with him carrying her if she is not pleased that he has to carry her to begin with.

      “Would that make this just a bit     better?”      ♚~}

Useless Headcanon

*He has a specific way that his clothes are organized and will always take the time to go through and adjust how he likes it when the servants have brought back his clothes after they’ve been washed. I suppose you could say that he has a small bout of OCD.

*When he gets frustrated or angry, he will excuse himself to go and tend to Sitron and the horses. It is something that the stable hands do, but brushing, cleaning and tending to at least Sitron calms him down.

“Save Me”

The visual of Elsa, freshly saved from being frozen-over, falling into the waters was always somewhat fascinating for me. The adding of Hans saving her here is purely for my shipping heart and yours.

Anyway, Hans is wearing a Northuldra clothing mainly based on what happened in my fic “Black Pawns”, though Hans didn’t save her there, but it is free to be interpreted however you like.

I seem to enjoy torturing myself over drawing Elsa’s Goddess Dress.
