mrs-elenaxsalvatore:
Elena pulled her hair up in a pony tail, and smiled while Damon rushed around, grabbing everything they needed. She was ready by the time he rushed towards her, and she giggled. She’d never get tired on watching Damon as human, Elena placed her hand upon his face and nodded, “It is time”, then her brown eyes looked down at her huge baby bump, and she smiled. Deep down she knew everything was going to be alright, maybe that was why she was so calm.
Damon would be there by her side through all the time, and that was all she needed. The idea of delivering this baby at home did crossed her mind, but as a future doctor, Elena was aware of the complications that could occur, and once the doctor assured her that Damon would be allowed in the room, despite the pandemia all around, she decided it was for the better going to the hospital. “Let’s go have a baby”, she kissed his cheek and took his hand, just in time before another contraction hit. She cried out softly, and squeezed his hand a bit hard, holding until the pain disappeared for a while.
On the inside Damon was freaking out. Their baby was going to be born soon, a new Salvatore brought into the world. How crazy it was that just a few years back he thought his family had ended with him and Stefan. Thanks to that beautiful brunette in front of him, it hadn’t. Damon held her hand, feeling as Elena squeezed and he wished there was anything he could do to help with the pain.
Holding her bag with his free hand, Damon led Elena out of their house and towards his car. He already knew he would need a better car eventually, but for now his old car would do just fine. He helped her into the car, before rushing to the other side to drive as fast as possible, without causing any damage to her, towards the hospital.

From: Damon and Miranda Grace Salvatore To: Elena Salvatore
Hey, baby.
Happy Mother’s day. The very first of many to come. You’ve been exhausted these past few weeks, for a very important reason, so I thought you deserved a day for yourself as a gift. Don’t worry, I can take care of our baby while you have an off day. You deserve it. Also you knew I would get you jewerly. But this one is special.
Our little girl and I love you so much.

mrs-elenaxsalvatore:
Elena had just finished her entry on the baby diary when she felt another annoying contraction. She had been feeling those for a while, but her doctor assured her that there was normal, except something was out of ordinary. She let a small breath out and eyed Milo, who had been following her everywhere for a week, “That was a bit stronger than the others”, she said while scrating on the back of his ears. Once she got up and took a few steps, she noticed something weird, there was a liquid in between her legs? She lost her breath, realizing what was happening.
Alright, this wasn’t time for panicking, especially during a pandemic time. Delivering a baby during a time like this was never in the plans, but she wasn’t that surprised at all, considering that everything seemed to happen in a different way than normal with her and Damon. At least the didn’t have the virus according to the test they had, so that was a relief, “It’s time”, she told Milo with a smile and took a quick shower, to clean herself and then head straight to the maternity. “Hey, babe… Is the maternity bag all set?”, she asked Damon while brushing her hair. “Because my water already broke and we should be heading to the maternity soon”, she said, surprised with how calm her voice sounded.
@formerpsychokiller
Damon had been doing all the chores around the house so Elena would rest. After all she was so close to give birth to their baby and he didn’t want her to do anything that could cause her any harm. He let her alone to write in her journal as he stood up to make their breakfast. Elena would write in the journal daily and he wondered if she had wrote something to their child. Maybe Damon should write something.
He was making his way back to their bedroom when he heard Elena’s voice. Damon thought he would freeze when the time arrived, he feared he would be too shocked to even move. But as soon as Elena’s words left her mouth, he was already moving around the bedroom, rushing to change his clothes and grab everything they needed. “Everything is set.” He answered, surprised at how calm she sounded. How was Elena so calm? Damon rushed to her side, breathing heavily. “So it’s time.” He said with a smile.

mrs-elenaxsalvatore:
When her parents died in a terrible accident, Elena was afraid of being alone in the world. So when Giuseppe Salvatore arranged the marriage between her and Stefan Salvatore, it felt just right. The youngest Salvatore was very kind to her, always looking after her and respectful of their engagement, even though now they lived under the same roof, since her brother started a family with Anna and was living at the Gilbert boarding house.
Everything was perfect, her life all planned out ahead of her, but Elena felt something was missing, something was off, which kept her up all night once in a while. That night, she tossed and turned on the bed and couldn’t fall asleep at all. With a sigh she got up and put a white laced robe and went to the kitchen, hoping a warm cup of tea would put her worries and nerves at ease.
Her voice almost skipped a beat when she heard a voice calling her name. Not any voice…. His voice. Stefan’s infamous older brother. Damon. She took a deep breath and waited a moment till her was sure the warm in her cheeks were gone. “Damon”, she said with a small bow of her head, “I should, but I guess it’s impossible by now”, she was walking towards him and then stopped, frowning, “Were you drinking again?”, she questioned him, feeling the scent of bourboun and cheap perfum all over his clothes.
Damon walked towards her, keeping his eyes only on her face to not make Elena uncomfortable in any way. He could be an asshole from time to time, but he knew how to be respectful when he wanted to. Not that he had been too respectful since the day she arrived. Something about Elena brought out the worst in him. He was always cocky, blunt and sometimes even rude when she was around. Especially when she and Stefan were around.
That animosity could be explained by the fact that Damon wasn’t happy that his father arranged the marriage between Stefan and Elena instead of Damon and Elena, but he would never say that. Oh, no. He would deny that he wanted Elena since the day he saw her until his death. Instead he would drink and act out and sleep around until his little brother and the brunette in front of him were finally married and out of the Salvatore estate.
Damon shrugged at her question, leaning against the wall as he watched her. “Maybe.” He answered. “Maybe not.” He knew the scent of alcohol wasn’t the only thing she was feeling. The woman he had slept with that night had a strong scent of cheap perfume. Elena knew where he had been and what he had been doing, but he knew she would never ask. “Some drink tea when they can’t sleep. Some drink alcohol.”

Damon didn’t know what time it was when he arrived at the Salvatore state, but he knew it was a little bit before dawn. He had been doing that for a while - Spending the night out, drinking, spending his money and sleeping in other women’s beds. His father thought he was the black sheep of the family, so why not prove him right?
The young mand walked into his house, not caring if he would wake someone. He was a few steps away from his bedroom door when another door opened, lighting the dark hallway. He turned around, seeing one of the reasons why he spent so much time out of the house between other women’s legs. Elena Gilbert. His brother’s fianceé. The woman that haunted his dreams. The bane of his existence.
“Miss Elena.” He bowed slightly with a smirk on his lips. “Shouldn’t you be sleeping?”

She knew she had him the moment that she spoke. She had most women, most men, hooked right from the get go. And if they didn’t react well to her? Well, that just meant Gen would do the world a favor and remove them from this Earth. Didn’t need all the stupidity anyway. Her pride and arrogance knew no bounds, to the point where that reaction was simply a knee jerk reflex, void of any though at all. “Good,” her head tilted, gestured to her empty glass, the corners of her lips turning up into a smirk, “I have been feeling a bit empty.”
Vampire? No, the smell was too different. Werewolf? No, she didn’t smell like wet dog. Witches still smelled like humans. Damon was definitely curious to know what the woman was. He smirked at her, licking his lips as he waved his hand for the bartender so he could get her another drink, but not moving his eyes away from her. “Maybe I can help you with that.” There was no doubt that he was very insterested in her, but Damon was also starving and when someone cut their finger somewhere in the room, Damon eyes quickly moved around the room, looking for the source, before laying on the woman again. Sex or food? Tough decision to make.

She can’t help but bite the edge of her lower lip, her eyes flirtatious with the ever present wicked glint in her eye. She took another hefty sip, relishing in the smoky burn of alcohol before responding. “Clearly, as I’m talking to you,” she commented, a quirk of the eyebrow following soon after as she poured the rest of the bourbon back and swallowed in one, fluid motion. “A lady needs a drink,” she hinted at him, shifting to cross one bare leg over the other.
The first thing he noticed about the woman was how hot she was. The second was that her blood didn’t smell human. That definitely ruined one of his plans. But Damon didn’t mind much when the person possibly ruining it was as gorgeous as the brunette. “That’s true.” He smirked. His eyes fell to her legs as she crossed them, shamelessly cheking her out, before moving his eyes slowly towards her eyes again. “Maybe I can buy a lady another drink, then.”

mrs-elenaxsalvatore:
His smile while she was talking reassured Elena that despite everything, everything was going to be alright. She blushed, knowing she’d never be used to Damon calling her his love. “I did promise a life full of adventure, didn’t I?”, she giggled, looking back at him through her eyelashes. Elena blushed harder at his grin, and she swatted his shoulder playfully. “Shut up”, she chuckled and climbed off from his lap, knowing she wouldn’t be able to get her cheek back into the normal color if she was still in his arms.
She listened to him and her heart busted with happiness, if that was even possible. Her hand cupped his cheek and she smiled, “You’re already the best husband in this world, and on the other side, and all”, she smiled and placed her hands upon her womb, “She or he is going to be the luckiest child having you as the father”, Elena said it with conviction. She pursed her lips, watching as he spoke, a little smile curled her lips up. She was also lucky for having him as her husband. Who would ever imagine that Damon Salvatore would make future plans, and be the man in the house and father to be. She was very proud of the man he had become. “Three more years, and then I can finish my studies in Mystic Falls, and we’ll finally be home, with our baby”, she smiled. “C’mere”, she took his hand and walked towards their room, “For now, it’s just you and me, and we should enjoy this while we can”
Damon chuckled, shaking his head. “Our lives has been a rollercoaster since the day we met. Of course nothing would change even if we’re humans.” He smiled. “A life full of adventure. I’m hoping we can leave the little danger part behind from now on.” He said. Damon let Elena, move away, but missed her instantly. He wanted to keep her in his arms for as long as possible.
Damon smiled brightly at Elena’s words. It made everything worth it, every single thing he did for their happiness was worth it when she smiled at him. “And having you as the mother. You’ll be amazing.” He smiled sweetly at her. Damon could see their future ahead of them, with their child, and he couldn’t wait. “We can handle three years before you’re done with studying. We’ll figure it out. We always do.” He nodded. Damon stood up, holding Elena’s hand and following her. “Ugh, I can already see many sleepless nights ahead of us. And the sex? Forget it. We’ll be too busy with our little baby.” He teased her.

“I suppose it would come in hand in case something is wrong about our baby… But”, she pursed her lips, looking at his eyes, “None of this would be possible if you were still able to listen to it. Are you having second thoughts about being human?”, she whispered the last word. Elena hated to feel that way, to think that Damon wasn’t happy being human after all those years. It was an irracional feeling, they were happier than they had been in their whole lives. So why she was feeling like she had a lump in her throat? The doctor called and she put herself back together. There was no time for letting her crazy hormones take the best of her. The doctor asked some things, like her exercise routine, her diet and if she was taking the pre natal vitamins. Once it was all clear, the doctor left them for a moment to prepare the ultrasound room. Elena took a deep breath and looked at Damon, “It’s time”
Elena’s question caught Damon completely off guard. Sure it would be cool to listen to their baby’s heartbeat like he had heard Gen’s, but that was far from having second thoughts about being human. Before he could say that to his wife, the doctor called them and Damon hoped he would have a moment to reassure Elena before the ultrasound. He held her hand the whole time while the doctor asked questions, helping her answering one thing or another. When he finally left, Damon leaned closer to Elena, squeezing her hand. “I love being human with you. I don’t regret it at all. I’m not having second thoughts.”

mrs-elenaxsalvatore:
“Yes… No”, Elena sighed before bitting her bottom lip. “It’s not knowing what was going on, and then knowing I was going to have this baby. I got surprised and happy, but then I got afraid of everything, your reaction, not knowing how to deal with the baby and handling the medical school at the same time, and then you finding out, and crying of joy and really being as excited and terrified as I am, it was like the end of a crazy, but good ride”, she said and then blushed with his words. Somehow, the man in front of her never failed on making her fall in love with him each day. To end this moment, Elena laughed, “Baby, you’re already old, but thankfully your body was very well preserved“, she teased him before kissing the tip of his nose.
She smiled back, knowing he was right about everything. Not only they saved each other, but they also saved the town a couple of times. From her plans, most of them suicidal ones, to his crazy and effective plots, nothing could tear them apart, not even death. Elena chuckled with him, “Either way, we’re going to love this child so much. And I hope we’ll earn their respect, so they’ll listen to us when she’s acting too stubborn, and our son is being reckless”, she smiled. Damon brought some important questions and she sighed, looking around. She loved the place, but they’ll have to change somewhere where they could actually start a family. “I agree, but we can’t move back to Mystic Falls yet. I have the last year in pre med, and then all those years in medical school. Later I’ll be able to be back and apply for a intership into Mystic hospital… Or I can drop everything”, even saying that hurt Elena. She wasn’t ready to give up all the years in pre med and go back. She knew she could handle being pregnant, and studying for MCAT and then being a mom and attending medical school.
Damon smiled as Elena spoke. He couldn’t imagine what she went through in those few moments between finding out she was pregnant and telling him the news. “I can’t tell you I’m not completely terrified and I won’t lie to you, this is probably not the best time for us to have a baby. I just turned into human and you’re still in med school. But I can’t say that I’m not the happiest man alive knowing the woman I love is pregnant and I’m going to be a father. So yeah, I get the ride thing. And I think it’ll probably be like this for the rest of our lives.” Damon said. “You do enjoy my well preserved body, don’t you?” He grinned.
“I hope so too.” He said, before frowning slightly.. “And I promise you I’ll be the best father in the world to our baby. She, or he, will never know what is like to not be loved by their father.” Damon promised himself that he would be the father he never had, the kind of father Giusepper was never able to be for him and Stefan. He frowned when Elena said she could drop her med school, quickly shaking his head. “No way, you won’t be dropping anything.” He replied. “We’ll figure this out. I can find a bigger place for us, rent a house somewhere around here. I own the bar, so that means I don’t have to go there all the time, maybe only at night, and I can take care of our baby while you go to classes. Besides there’s a never ending list of people that would definitely help us, starting with Caroline and Gen.” He said. “Or we can try to stay here, at least at the beginning, after you have the baby. That way you’ll be closer to college. Once you can move away, we’ll go back to Mystic Falls. And honestly, I would personally drive you back and forth every single day just so you won’t give up on your dream.”

Since finding out Elena’s was pregnant, Damon had been trying to find ways to make things work between Elena going to med school, his job, and the fact that they would have a child soon. He had been so busy that he only told a few important people about the news. His mother wasn’t one of them, and he only realized that when he opened the door and found her standing outside. “Lily.” He said, surprised. “Uh... Come in.” He stepped aside to let his mother in. Did she know he was no longer a vampire? Did she hear Elena was pregnant? Damon didn’t feel like he owed her anything after she abandoned him, but he couldn’t help but feel like he was a bad son for not telling her the news.
Despite obvious strain, Lily had been making strides with Damon if only because of the obligation he now felt back to his mother. She had missed out on many of the moment where a mother was truly needed in a son’s life. Lily was only grateful that she got to be around for the part of his life where he found a woman he loved enough to marry. And getting to know the wives of her son’s had been a delightful experience thus far. In fact, she felt as if she knew them more because they were often more receptive to her efforts of making a more sincere relationship. None the less, now that she was in her big house without the Heretics it was her that felt lonely in this town. So she made frequent visits. Approaching the loft, flowers in one arm and a bottle of bourbon in the other, she knocked a polite few times and stepped back from the door. @formerpsychokiller

Elena chuckled, very aware on how she made the innuendo clear with her voice. She squeezed his hand softly and leaned up to kiss his cheek. “You’re going to hear ours soon, in the old fashioned way. Besides, that’s not how people should know someone is pregnant. How did Gen reacted?”, she asked and then leaned her head upon his shoulder. Elena was looking foward for the scan and everything, but she also couldn’t wait to see the doctor and ask if all the morning sickness she was dealing with was something normal. She was already taking all the vitamins and adopted a healthier diet. Sacrificing all the Grill food, and the nice appetizers at Damon’s bar was already a torture without feeling sick all the time. “Mr and Mrs Salvatore, you may go in. The doctor is waiting for your exam”, the nurse called.
“I know. It would just be really cool to listen to her, or him, like I could listen to anyone else’s.” He shrugged. “She freaked out, obviously. She was a newly turned human.” And even though he had tried to be more careful than Gen, Damon ended up in a similar situation. “To be honest, Sam found out first, I think. I just confirmed it.” Damon looked at the clock, wondering if it was going to take too long until the doctor called them when the nurse finally said their names. That was it. The time to finally see and hear their child had finally arrived and Damon couldn’t help but feel nervous.

mrs-elenaxsalvatore:
Elena smiled back, “Yeah, it’s like when you walks in the roller coaster train, you know”, she scrunched her nose, “You’re all exicted when you’re in the line, but when it’s finally happening, you realize it’s not going to be as pleasant as you imagined”, she said. Never in her whole life she felt this sick so often. Perhaps when she first turned into a vampire, and she couldn’t take blood from a blood bag. And this was just the start, she’d probably get worse morning sickness before she’d start enjoying it for real. She looked down at him with love in her eyes, “You can’t be serious about that, but I’m not complaining”, she chuckled and pecked on his lips. There were sexier women than her, she knew that for a fact.
“I feel exactly the same”, she smiled and sighed in content when he rested his forehead against hers. “Stop it”, Elena laughed shaking her head, “Yes, you were a jerk to many people’s daughters. But you also saved many other people’s daughters. You saved me, in every way possible. If the Universe gives you a daughter it’s because you deserve it, not because of your past, but because of the man you’ve evolved”, she raised her eyebrow and placed a hand on his face, “But I’ll be screwed if it’s a boy, and he’ll be as handsome and reckless as his father”
“Is it the sickness?” Damon asked, frowning. He had noticed that Elena had been sick the past few days, but he didn’t know until that moment the reason behind it. The newly turned human didn’t know much about pregnancy, but he knew women got morning sickness at the beginning. “Oh, I am serious.” He chuckled after she gave him a kiss. “Baby, there’s no way you will ever stop being sexy to me. Especially if you’re growing our baby inside of you. You’re the sexiest woman alive to me and that won’t change. Even when we’re old.”
Whenever Elena spoke of how much he changed, Damon felt very proud of himself. If it wasn’t for Elena, he would still be the bad vampire that wanted nothing but to cause chaos. “We saved each other. I wouldn’t be here, literally, if it wasn’t for you. You saved me too, more times than I can count.” He smiled. “So we’re screwed. We’ll either have a stubborn daughter or a reckless son.” Damon chuckled. “We should start thinking about where we’ll be living. It’s obvious we can’t stay here, even though I really like this loft. This is a place for two, not three.” He sighed. “And I can’t believe I’ll say this, but maybe we should move back to Mystic Falls. For good.”
