A Horror Film Reenactment: The ‘Scream’ Murder of Cassie Jo Stoddart
During the evening of 22nd September 2006, 16-year-old Cassie Jo Stoddart headed over to her aunt and uncle’s home in a remote area of Bannock County, Idaho. Her relatives were going away for the night and had asked Cassie to look after the house. Wanting some company, she was joined at the house by her boyfriend, Matt Beckham, at around 6pm.
Later that evening, two classmates named Brian Draper (16) and Torey Adamcik (16) also turned up at the house and they all settled down to watch a movie together. However, before the film ended, Brian and Torey announced they were leaving to attend a local movie theatre. The four friends said their goodbyes, and the two boys left. However, unbeknownst to Cassie and Matt, Brian and Torey had unlocked the basement door on their way out.
A short while later, Brian and Torey returned wearing dark outfits and masks, and they snuck into the basement through the unlocked door. Brian was obsessed with the Columbine massacre and Torey was a big fan of the movie Scream, and so they were eager to recreate their own horror scene. While Matt and Cassie watched TV, Brian and Torey began making loud noises in an attempt to lure their friends into the basement. When that failed to attract them, they instead cut the power.
With the lights frequently cutting out, Cassie began to feel uneasy, which was worsened by the fact the family’s dog was constantly growling at the basement door. Matt called his mother and asked if he could remain at the house with Cassie for the night, so that she felt safer. Matt’s mother denied his request, but said that Cassie was welcome to stay at their home and offered to drop her back off at her aunt and uncle’s house the next morning. Cassie turned down this offer, as she did not want to leave the pets unattended. At approximately 10:30pm, Matt returned home and Cassie was left alone.

Nevill and June Bamber lived in the village of Tolleshunt D'Arcy, England, in a beautiful farmhouse called White House Farm. They lived with their adopted daughter, Sheila Caffell, and her twin sons, Nicholas and Daniel, who were 6-years-old. The couple also had an adopted son, Jeremy Bamber, who lived a few miles away from the farm.
In the early morning of 7 August, 1985, Jeremy called the police and told them he had received an alarming call from his father, who had exclaimed that Sheila, who suffered from schizophrenia, had “gone berserk” with a rifle. The police responded and quickly made their way to the farmhouse. To their horror, the entire family had been shot dead. The body of Sheila was discovered with the rifle resting against her throat.
The police initially ruled it as a murder-suicide due to Sheila’s mental health. Then around a month later, Jeremy’s ex-girlfriend informed the police that he had confessed to killing his family and was motivated to do so due to the large inheritance he would receive. Moreover, during the investigation, Jeremy’s cousin discovered a silencer with blood on it inside a cupboard in the farmhouse.
Jeremy was found guilty and sentenced to five life terms. However, the investigation was shoddy from the beginning and there were many errors. A lot of the evidence against Jeremy was faulty and one theory (of the very many) is that his cousin framed him to collect his inheritance - it seems unlikely that the bloody silencer could have been missed during the investigation. Furthermore, the jury were not informed that Nevill had also called the police on the night of the murder, saying Sheila had “gone berserk” - the same thing he told Jeremy. This can be confirmed by phone records.
The murders at White Farm House remain one of the most controversial and mysterious cases, even to this day. Jeremy Bamber has always maintained his innocence and still fights to clear his name.

Sipho Thwala (1968-?)
Sipho Mandla Agmatir Thwala, also known as The Phoenix Strangler, is a South African rapist and serial killer. In 1999, he was convicted of the murders of 16 women, as well as 10 rapes, receiving a sentence of 506 years in prison. Thwala was born and raised in KwaMashu before moving to KwaZulu-Natal, where he began his year-long rape and murder spree in 1996. His method was to lure local women into going into the sugarcane fields of Mount Edgecombe with him (near the town of Phoenix), promising them jobs as domestic servants in nearby hotels. Once deep into the fields, Thwala would attack the women, tie them up with their own underwear and then rape, strangle and bludgeon them to death. Physical evidence of his attacks was destroyed when farmers routinely burnt their cane fields, which set the police investigation back - until they found a body that had not been burned. In 1997, Thwala was arrested after police matched DNA found on the victims to DNA taken from Thwala in 1994 when he was arrested and acquitted of rape. Sipho Mandla Agmatir Thwala is currently incarcerated at C Max Penitentiary in Pretoria, South Africa.

In mid 2010, 21 year old Jamie Stice was living at home with her mother and step father in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Jamie was dating 23 year old James "JJ" Reynolds and soon learned they would be expecting a child.
From the very start of her pregnancy, Jamie couldn't contain her excitement even after JJ and both her parents were laid off from work. This meant an already trying financial situation would now be even rougher but, Jamie kept a positive attitude.
With her growing belly, Jamie found it difficult to go do things she usually had done before such as hanging out with friends, and often became stuck in the house. During this time Jamie's relationship with JJ was also very strained with worries of money always becoming a topic of frustration.
Feeling alone, Jamie turned to Facebook. She was always posting the progress of the baby's growth on her timeline through a tracker app linked to Facebook as well as writing thoughtful personal posts.
There was no doubt in anyone's mind that Jamie was ready and eager to meet her baby.
In early 2011, Kathy Coy, a cousin of a close friend of Jamie's, messaged Jamie stating she too was pregnant and could use a friend.
Jamie and Kathy talked online multiple times a day for a few weeks about their pregnancy as well as Jamie's financial struggles. Kathy had told Jamie she wanted to help with the money troubles and offered to give Jamie some baby clothes she had. Jamie was thrilled with the kind gesture and soon Kathy made the trip from Morgantown, KY to Bowling Green to meet Jamie.
For the next three months Coy came to the Stice's home daily but never empty handed. Coy constantly brought baby clothes, toys, and on a few occassions she even gave Jamie's mother Jeannie cash to help with bills.
On the morning of April 13, 2011 Kathy Coy came to the Stice residence to give Jeannie a ride to the local social security office to apply for disability. Since her time there would be awhile, Coy dropped her off and then planned to take Stice baby clothes shopping.
After her appointment was over, Jeannie called Coy to come pick her up but couldn't get in touch with her after multiple calls.
Finally Coy called Jeannie to say she was in labor and being rushed to the hospital.
Once Jeannie had gotten a ride home, she expected to find Jamie there, but Jamie was nowhere to be found.
Around 7 p.m. Coy was entering the hospital with her newborn baby, his umbilical cord still attached, and a bucket that contained a uterus and two ovaries.
Coy claimed she had just given birth, something hospital staff quickly disputed and called the police to report a suspicious birth.
Kentucky State Police arrived at hospital to question Coy but she continually claimed the baby was hers.
However, after a long interrogation Coy confessed to murding Stice and stealing the baby.
Coy told police that after dropping Jeannie off she made her way back to the Stice home. There she picked up Jamie to set out for their shopping trip. Instead, Coy drove to a secluded location, used a stun gun to incapacitate Jamie, bound her wrists, slit her throat, and disembowled her to remove the baby.
Jamie Stice's remains were found on the morning of April 14, 2011.
Kathy Coy was sentenced to life without parole in March 2012.
Issiah Allen Stice Reynolds survived the horrific ordeal depsite being five weeks early and lives with JJ.

Gilbert Jordan, The Boozing Barber
Tumblr media
Gilbert Paul Jordan was a Canadian serial killer known as the ‘Boozing Barber’ he is thought to have had 8-10 victims between 1965 and 2004.
Jordan, a former barber, was linked to 8-10 murders and is thought to have began killing in 1965. His victims were Aboriginal women who he would find in bars, buy drinks for or pay for sex. Jordan would encourage the women to drink, often offering them increasing amounts of money to finish another alcoholic beverage, and when they passed out would pour liquor down their throats. The official causes of death were alcohol poisoning and some victims were known to suffer from alcoholism which resulted in a lack of police or media attention.
Court records showed police listening outside the hotel rooms heard Jordan betting women increasing amounts of money to drink such as “Have a drink, down the hatch baby, 20 bucks if you drink it right down; see if you’re a real woman; finish that drink, finish that drink, down the hatch hurry, right down; you need another drink, I’ll give you 50 bucks if you can take it.”
Despite evidence of women dying from alcohol poisoning in Jordan’s company Jordan was only conclusively linked to one death and found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 15 years in prison, reduced to 9 years on appeal. After many probation violations Jordan died in 2006.

13-year-old Bradley “Brad” Blake Hansen has not been seen since November 10, 1995. A student at Centennial Middle School, classes were canceled due to it being Veterans Day. Brad went to go visit a friend, Jeremy Bach at his home on East Piro Street in Phoenix, Arizona. This was the last known location of Bradley and when his mother could not figure out where he was by that evening, she reported her son missing. When questioned, Bach claimed that Bradley had accidentally shot a hole into the wall and fled the home on his bike.
For about two months, Bradley’s case was listed as a runaway, however, a drastic turn occurred when sanitation workers at Bach’s house found blood and bodily fluids in their trash can and kitchen. While the blood was never confirmed to be specifically Brad’s, tests did show a strong relationship to the blood of Brad’s mother and the amount of blood found would have been enough to kill him. When questioned by police again, Bach claimed to have accidentally shot Brad in the chest in his kitchen and put his body in the trash can, however, he told different accounts of how the accident happened. Bach admitted to not getting help after accidentally shooting his friend. Authorities believe that the two had gotten into an argument regarding a girl that they both dated. Afterward, Brad’s body was supposedly taken to the Butterfield Station Landfill, but a nearly two-month search of the landfill yielded no sign of Brad. He was charged with murder in 1996 and was convicted of second-degree murder in 1998. He will be released from prison in 2020, but Brad remains missing and his body has never been recovered.
Bradley Blake Hansen is a white male who was 13 when he vanished, stood between 4′8″-4′11″ (142-149 cm), weighed 60-75 pounds (27-34 kg), and had brown hair dyed black and blue eyes. He was last known to be wearing a white t-shirt, a black collared shirt, black jeans, green boxer shorts, black shoes with red laces, a watch, and a burgundy backpack which was allegedly thrown away. His left ear is pierced. DNA and dentals are available for comparisons. If alive, he would be 36 years old. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Bradley Hansen, please contact the Phoenix Police Department at 602-534-3053.

20 year-old Nehemiah “Neo” Kauffman (pictured left) and 21 year-old Sydney Land (pictured right) were just beginning a new chapter in their lives together when they were tragically murdered in late October 2016. Prior to this, the two were in a happy relationship and had just moved into an apartment together in Las Vegas, Nevada. On October 27th, 2016, a friend of the couple grew worried after not hearing from Neo and Sydney for a few days. That friend went over to their apartment and made a grim discovery: Neo was dead on their living room floor, and Sydney was dead in their bedroom. Both had been shot to death. It was estimated that they had been dead for at least 24 hours at the time they were found.
Officers who first responded to the scene found no signs of forced entry into the apartment. A murder-suicide was also ruled out. It has been theorized that Neo may have been targeted due to his “associations” with drug dealers. One of said associations is a man named Shane Valentine, who had threatened the couple in the past. In fact, roughly 20 days before the murders, on October 8th, 2016, Valentine was accused of opening fire at Neo’s family home. Fortunately, nobody was injured during that incident. After the murders, Valentine was arrested on unrelated charges, but inevitably questioned about the case. Though many believe Valentine is responsible for Neo and Sydney’s murders, authorities announced about a year after their deaths that they currently do not believe Valentine is their prime suspect. However, he has not been completely ruled out.
Sydney and Neo’s murders currently remain unsolved. Police are seeking any person with information that may lead to a break in the case. If you have any information that may help the investigation, please contact 702-385-5555.

Tamra Jewel Keepness was only five years-old when she vanished from her family’s Regina, Saskatchewan home on July 6th, 2004. Tamra and her family members are First Nations, and the neighborhood they lived in prior to Tamra’s disappearance was known for having First Nations residents. The neighborhood was a well-known area for prostitution as well, and unfortunately many residents struggled with poverty and/or addiction. In July 2004, Tamra was an innocent child who was blissfully unaware of the dangers in her neighborhood. She loved to play outside and had a habit of leaving the house without telling anyone. While it seems plausible that this lead to her disappearance, authorities wondered if the reason for Tamra’s disappearance could be found within her own home.
After Tamra was reported missing, authorities learned that a violent incident occurred in her home just hours before she vanished. On the evening of July 5th, 2004, Tamra was at home with her mother Lorena, her mother’s boyfriend Dean, and her five siblings. At some point, an argument broke out between Lorena and Dean, causing Dean to storm out of the house. Shortly after leaving, he ran into their friend Russell, who was also an occasional resident at their house. Dean and Russell decided to go out for drinks while Lorena stayed home with the children. A little bit later, Lorena sent the children to bed and left her oldest child in charge while she went to have drinks at a friends house located a block away. Around midnight, Russell returned to the home without Dean. He allegedly saw all of the children sleeping in the living room at that time. Russell stayed at the residence for the next 3 hours, during which Dean returned at some point as well. Russell stated that before he left the residence, Dean beat him up so badly he was forced to get stitches at a hospital. Russell walked to the hospital, while Dean went to spend the night at his aunt’s house. It is unknown what the two men were fighting about, but they both have stated that their fight was not about Tamra.
Lorena returned home shortly after the fight. The doors to the home were locked and she was forced to enter through a window. She stated that she thought she saw her 10 year-old daughter, Summer, and Tamra’s twin sister, five year-old Tannis, sleeping in the living room. Lorena passed out shortly thereafter. When she woke up hours later, she asked her 8 year-old son Rayne if he had seen Tamra. Rayne told his mother that he slept on the floor, up against the mattress that Tamra fell asleep on the previous night. He said he felt Tamra get out of bed at some point that morning, but nobody had actually seen her since the previous evening. The family searched for her for about an hour and a half before calling the police and reporting Tamra missing.
Authorities have conducted several interviews and have followed thousands of tips since Tamra’s disappearance, but have not announced any suspects in the case. The most recent tip came about in 2014, when a Reddit user posted a hand-drawn map of Muscowpetung (pictured above) with the words: “Location of Tamra Keepness, check the wells.” The Reddit user later wrote that the map belonged to their grandmother, but had come from a great-aunt who had visited an inmate in Alberta. It is unclear who exactly drew the map. Investigators searched 21 wells around Muscowpetung but found nothing.
Tamra’s case is still being investigated by the Regina Police Service’s Cold Case Unit. There is a $50000 reward for information that leads to her whereabouts. If you have any information that could help solve Tamra’s case, please contact the cold case unit at 306-777-6500.

Albert Fish Part 2: A little bit more into his backstory.
In 1890 Albert Fish Arrives in New York City. He takes a job as a male prostitute and this quickly leads to his sadomasochistic relationships and the molestation of young boys.
In 1898 he was wed to a woman. In addition to this, he took a job as a house painter to support his ever growing family. He would still have affairs with young boys during his marriage. He also continued to molest boys younger than 6 years old at this time. It is said he never harmed his own children.
During his marriage he was arrested for embezzlement in 1903. While serving his time in prison, he would regularly engage in sexual activities with the other inmates and it became well known that he enjoyed beatings from them. Eventually, it was said that if any of the inmates had built up tension they would seek out Albert Fish to release their aggression, which was pure enjoyment for him. This continued for the duration of his sentence. Once he was released from prison Albert Fish would visit brothels frequently where he would pay to be whipped, beat and tortured.
It is known that Thomas Kedden was supposed to be his first murder. Albert fish even admitted that to the police when he was finally captured. It was in 1910 when Albert and 19 year old Thomas Kedden had first met. Albert had taken Thomas to an old abandoned farm house where he tortured and mutilated him for 2 weeks. Albert's original plan was to murder him and cut him into small pieces. However, at this time he was afraid of the attention it would draw towards him. Instead, he cut half of Thomas's penis off, poured peroxide over it and wrapped it up in vaseline and a handkerchief. He left a 10 dollar bill for Thomas and caught the first train out. Albert was never found and charged with this attempt.
His wife finally divorced Albert in 1917. This is when he finally loses all of his sanity.
Stay tuned...
xoxo
