Book recommendations?
Hey y'all, I want to go to the library and read more, but I always have a hard time finding books. As a teen I chose books randomly, but as I got older I just found myself rereading the same books over and over again.
Things I like
1. Psychological books, like The Shining. That's one I read multiple times a year
2. Realistic Sci-fi? I'm not one to really like aliens or super crazy stuff, but books with a world like ours but more technology. Finity by John Barnes is one I love, I read it for the first time this year and proceeded to read it twice again lol
3. Books about struggles, teenagers going through hard times or just learning how to cope. Tales of a Madman Underground is one I read all the time as a teenager, I just haven't bought a copy yet and my library doesn't carry it
4. Philosophy, or interesting nonfiction books, like musicophilia. Or ones about autism, as I am autistic and learning to unmask.
Things I'd Rather Avoid
1. Smut books. Nothing against them, just not really my cup of tea ATM
2. Anything super fast or action-y. I have a hard time keeping up and I'm not a fan of violence
3. Vampires, werewolves, most fantasy type books. Twilight ruined this for me lmao
4. Those "trendy self help" books like unfuck or life or how to be a badass or whatever those ones are called.
If anyone has any recommendations I'd really appreciate it! Thanks 🩷

Despite an awful migraine this morning, I was able to do quite a bit in my new journal to set it up for next year!
I added some stickers to the front. The Isabelle is my fav lol
And here are the pages I did today! I forgot to take a picture, but that paper taped to the side is my dot guide. It pulls out so I can reference it while working at any page in my journal.
Then, the first page is a "self portrait" I really just wanted to mess around with my new coloring pencils, and decided to make a cover page with them
Last year my journal included an index but this one didn't, so I decided to make my own. I drew the color lines without a ruler, so there's quite a few mistakes, but it's not the end of the world (or so I tell myself)
Then finally my year at a glance and important dates pages. I don't know why these were so hard to make, but I think I used half my white out fixing mistakes. With how bad it was you'd think I didn't trace my designs before inking them, but I do!!
I'm glad I have the energy to do these spreads now, as I'll be out of state over Christmas and won't be able to do anything with it then. Let's see how far I can get before next Sunday!

Got some new journal stuff today! Very excited to start my new bullet journal!
I got three journals. One is dotted and two are graph paper. I'm thinking one will be the official bujo, one will be a journal, and the third will be brain dump/mess journal
I also got some washi tape! I love how cute these are!!

(some) gentle reminders for when the doubt creeps in
۶ৎ you belong where you are
the door wouldn’t have opened if you weren’t meant to walk through it, you wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity if you weren’t ready to take it
۶ৎ you’re not supposed to know everything
no one has it all figured out, fuck around and find out, learning as you go is part of the magic
۶ৎ you are allowed to take space
you are allowed to exist fully
۶ৎ your worth isn’t up for debate
not by others, not by you, but especially not by others
۶ৎ comparison is a lie
your path is yours only and it WILL differ to those around you, so don’t feel pressured by “being late”, all of us have our own timing and our own pace
۶ৎ you’ve survived every hard day so far
let that be proof that you’re resilient in the ways you don’t even notice

Start planning 2025
Make a list of all the emotions you want to feel at the end of 2025.
Now work backwards and write down all the tasks you need to do in order to feel that way.
Make a separate list of all the “gaps” - what do you currently not have in order to do those tasks to make you feel the way you want?
And lastly, write down how you can fill those gaps. Do you need a gym membership to become fit to feel good about your yourself? Do you need to learn how to cook better meals in order to feel healthy and energised? Do you need to start applying to jobs, in order to secure one, in order to feel financially safe? Do you need to buy an old school alarm clock that’s going to wake up your entire apartment building in order to wake up early? what do you need to DO?
also, make a list of all the things that worked out for you in 2024. Learn to celebrate and appreciate, even the smallest of wins.
For the next two months start the trial and error process of this program. Let’s say you decide that you want to work out 7 days a week in order to feel good about your body. Now halfway through November you realise that 7 days is probably too much, and 5 days would be better for your schedule. Or you decide to read 3 books a week, but realistically, maybe a chapter a day is better.
November and December are your trial months. By the time January starts, be ready with a program that is built for you, works for you, and can be completed by you.
Don’t forget about keeping a reward mechanism. If you complete your daily tasks for 1 month straight, buy that little purse you were eyeing, or take yourself to a spa. Reward yourself in ways you like so that :
a) you’re not in an endless cycle of never being satisfied
b) you don’t drop everything for a man or a friend who shows you the slightest bit of affection because you won’t show it to yourself
c) it encourages you to work harder for yourself.

My chaotic thick journal I've used this year. I was the most consistent this year with keeping a journal. Did I put it down for months at a time? Sure. But, I always picked it back up, and now my goal is to use the last 80 pages or so before 2025!

Introduction Post
Hello everyone!
You can call me Bug 🪲
I've decided to make a blog about my life as a nature school/preschool teacher. I will probably post about crafts/lesson plans as well as just random thoughts about educational topics. I also want to try 100 days of productivity at some point, and use this place as a source of accountability to make social goals.
🪲fun facts🪲
🧓 I am 29 🧓
🏴☠️ I am nonbinary 🏴☠️
🌈 I use mostly they/them pronouns but I'm fine with any really 🌈
💀 I am autistic 💀
☯️ I had blue hair up until recently, so I was the most stereotypical blue haired liberal ☯️
🌊 I live by the beach and love the ocean 🌊
🐔 We have chickens at my school (and they're mostly my responsibility lmao) 🐔
📒 I love bujo stuff and will probably post journal spreads 📒
🍃💨 enough said 💨🍃
Thanks ❤️
