I don’t know how to explain this well…but I’m 30 years old and I feel like I’ve had to ‘sacrifice’ my entire adult life to unprecedented times, the pandemic and daily anxiety over hateful politicians and whatever rights they want to take away on any given day and I’m just so fucking tired

Okay but for real if you live in Maricopa County and voted by mail PLEASE go check the county recorder's webpage to make sure you didn't get flagged for a signature issue!! Apparently something like 12k are still waiting to be cured and we need every single one of those votes to send Kari Lake back to the fucking shadow realm where she belongs and also REPLACE Kyrsten Sinema with someone who's not going to do a stupid little curtsy while they tank progressive policies in the Senate!!
THERE IS STILL TIME PLS CHECK IF YOU LIVE THERE!!! Also maybe check even if you don't live there, I made sure mine got counted in Pima, we can make Blue Arizona happen!!! Check your ballots!!!!

It’s not a waste of time to cure your ballot. Even if the presidential election has already been determined, cured ballots can still make a significant impact in local government. This includes city council members, local propositions, senate/house memebers etc.
Even though the presidential election is important it was not the only thing on our ballots. It’s still important to have your vote count. Cure your ballot and don’t be left wondering what would’ve happened locally if you didn’t.

man not to be a dinosaur but remember when you used to do like Election Parties where you'd watch key and peele skits on comedy central and have drinking games and eat snacks. don't get me wrong, the election was still Really Important To Your Real Human Life, but you could like. conceive of how bad the bad option was. like it was within the realm of comprehensible badness where the government still worked the same way and "there's always next election" wasn't, like, less than 100% certain. it was stressful!!! i'm not saying it didn't matter! but still you'd go out to a bar with your friends or host a thing like "party til they call it! hope for the best but drink for the worst!!" it seems literally impossible to believe right now but i swear election night was kinda fun.

Fandom pro tip: engage with fandom based on what you love, not what you hate. Goes for ships and characters, plot points etc.

Check your ballots and tell your people to check theirs. There is a process to fix errors (usually signatures not matching; common with younger voters who tend to sign their ballots nicer than their driver’s license or whatever form they signed to register)

My dream for the election is that it’s definitive. I want a 2012-style Election Day where everyone built it up beforehand to possibly be close but then the results start rolling in and it was like “Oh, nevermind. It’s obviously Obama. Everyone go to bed.”
I just want voters to put a stake right through the heart of Trumpism so that it crumbles to ash before our eyes. That’s the dream.

Published by the National Woman Suffrage Publishing Company in 1917, this little book’s pages are entirely blank. More on it here: https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/why-women-should-not-vote

Can’t believe Jane Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice in the 2000s
And in 2015 Emily Brontë released literary clsssic Wuthering Heights
Thank God someone paved the way for them…

So when I was getting dressed today, I very quickly put on a lab coat and some cat ears, not even trying to have something coherent, just wanting to have some kind of costume, and then I used some eyeliner to draw some whiskers on my face, so, yeah, that's my costume, cat in a lab coat, does it make sense? no. who cares. Still wearing the same skirt and striped knee-high socks from yesterday, but that's just my work clothes.
But then when I got to my office in the physics department, one of my colleagues was immediately like, "Oh! Schrödinger's catgirl!"

"Elon Musk is literally bribing voters in swing states. Isn't that illegal!?"
If this thought has crossed your mind, then I'm sorry. I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this.
But it will be the election this November that decides if it's illegal or not.
This year, we are at the breaking point in the intersection of law and politics where whether or not the President's team can outright commit crimes to consolidate his power and destroy his enemies is on the ballot and up for vote.
